  1. That's no problem at all. Many charters use tones from official DLC without even tweaking them. If they fit, they fit and it doesn't matter if you made them yourself or if they were "pre-made", so to speak, and you're just using them for your own DLC.
  2. Oh, man. I'm really bad at this. I can still not get at least one without looking it up. :( Well, you may have a try as well:
  3. I think that will be the first time one of my customs is played in the CS. Nice. ;) Maybe I'll even post a score.
  4. It's still using samples, although in such a way that it builds the base for the whole song with new lyrics on top of it. But yeah, no challenge here. Not really sure about yours though. I still have to think about it.
  5. Here's a new banner: http://i.imgur.com/K5e0H6u.jpg I wanted to make it look good, so I needed two more words in the second half. It's the "high regard society" now.
  6. I was keeping it to myself but I thought it couldn't hurt to post it here and let the members know what's in store. ;)
  7. Oh, B. B. I'll miss you and your Lucille. Now's the time for another of his tunes to remember his greatness. I hope other charters join me. Let's make RS a place to remember him.
  8. I'll make a new version of the banner to reflect the name change of the group to simply "Soul/Funk/R&B Society". It will be the same otherwise. And yeah, I've joined the CRC when they opened up their social group but it's not like I haven't done any Classic Rock before. It just nice to have someone to get concrete feedback from or maybe even some help in creating the custom. I like to think that we can do the same here as well, so feel free to use the Charter Collaboration forum in the social group to get feedback and help from other charting members.
  9. Couldn't find any way to display new thread on the homepage; only new posts are shown. :( Also, this: Not even a challenge but let's start off (way too) easy. :D

  11. I thought about the group name and think that it's a lot simpler to just include Soul, Funk and R&B in the name. Those three big genre descriptors are more than enough, I think.
  12. Good. It seems I finally managed to do something right. Categorizing Disco as Pop Funk makes sense. Would you therefore suggest that it's covered with the term "Funk"? In that case I could probably reinstate the initial name. Maybe we need to vote on this, so everybody can voice their opinion.
  13. Not sure. I see if I can figure out how to do that.
  14. Oh my god. I am always at awe when I see how talented Stevie Wonder is. I wish I were blind if that would make me half the musician he is. And Nathan Watts jerking that bass until the high roaring notes fall out will haunt me in my sleep. [emoji38] Interesting game btw. I'll look for a good one to post and figure out.
  15. I just found out that all members were blocked from posting in the group itself as well as in your original thread, which seems to be linked to the group now, so I looked in the settings and saw that the permissions for "General" were not correctly set (I might have done that by accident when familiarizing myself with the settings). I fixed it now and will write a mass post to all members explaining the issue. I hope it's fixed now and we can start some conversations in here, beginning with polls about favorite songs; some of which may end up on my to do list. :) I also changed the name to include Disco instead of Afrobeat because LaceyB mentioned that it makes more sense and I agree. I honestly just forgot about it because I'm not a big Disco freak. There's gonna be a disco pack from me though, and soon.
  16. I created a new banner for the signature, if anyone's interested. It's a lot bigger but I wanted to make it work with the CRC banner. ;) http://i.imgur.com/EPUKiHj.jpg
  17. Well, they are just using midi tracks in Reaper for charting and Reaper isn't really a very good looking DAW in itself, imo, but when combined with the midi editor layout it looks especially unappealing. So you're right. Kudos to raynebc for a piece of software that looks a lot better and is more intuitive to work with.
  18. It seems like frippchen left the group. Not sure why but maybe we should provide some content to make membership more attractive. Wouldn't be a bad idea. ;) I'll try to think of something, maybe initiate some conversations. There are also a few people who haven't yet accepted my invitation. I'll try to contact them about it.
  19. The reason I didn't make anything from Marcus Miller yet, is the fact that I wouldn't even be able to test it. Almost all of his stuff is extremely challenging, especially because there's pretty much no track without slapping and I'm not good enough at that. :( If you like though, I can send you tabs from my MM song book. That should save you some work. :) It's this one: http://www.halleonard.com/product/viewproduct.do?itemid=690811&lid=690811&keywords=marcus%20miller&subsiteid=1&&viewtype=songlist
  20. I can preload it with tasty CDLC for you but the shipping costs might be more expensive than a new hard drive.
  21. Three new Fela Kuti tracks for the list: Let’s Start Black Man’s Cry Yeye De Smell Enjoy!
  22. Next album is finished now. I didn't include "Egbe Mi O" because it's just a live recording of the studio track without any relevant differences and the "Drum Solo" is just what it says it is. http://www.customrock.net/Forum/images/smilies/icon/biggrin.gif
  23. For most people the difference in audio quality might not matter or even be noticeable, granted, but for me it does and I do notice, hence the big file size. Still, this is certainly useful for users who want to save hard drive space (although not really that expensive nowadays). I'll stick with high quality settings because my ears are more precious to me than my hard drive space, tbh. :)
  24. I don't mind the extra work but I see what you mean. I still think it's convenient to have it in both places and it's not as if it's updated constantly. As long as you let me know, I'll just copy/paste the whole thing et voilà, it's done. :D The list in the social group should be visible for guests as well, so at least that's not a problem.
  25. I already posted the list there as well. It's not really a big inconvenience to keep it up to date in both places. If you want I can take care of the social group list and you just update the list here. :)
