Hmmm. I usually buy the regular slinky ones and never really had problems with them. They usually last quite a while for me. Ive been using super slinkys since the late 80s, ive tried every other brand of strings i can get my hands on, i just end up going back to balls.

Well new new you can't buy, since the production ended in 2003 or 2004. Mine is a Korean one that was made until 1999 and , by the serial number, is from 1997. It has some use, some little scratches here and there, the pickups work but 1 screw is missing from the neck pickup. Also the volume knob is missing and it has no block or screws on the top of the neck, as you can see in the photo. :D very cool find man! those "problems" arent even problems at all.. they are easily replaced for very little money and it lets you customize your guitar a bit in the process. its also missing the string locks at the nut .. still super easy to replace :D

I play a bit of dethklock tuned to C .. ive been using 9-42s with no problems, though i feel 10s would feel a bit better on the treble side. just for a giggle .. i put 8s on .. the strings had all the tension of overcooked spaghetti :P

i actually didnt install my win10 as an update .. i installed it as a new/fresh install ... but im off topic. Ive had no problems with rocksmith in windows 10. I had the gain turned way up on my cable, and had to turn it down to get rid of a bunch of noise. but i can hardly blame windows for that.

Ive been running windows 10 for several months, first as a technical preview, and windows 10 final since the 27th .. rocksmith and cdlcs have been working just fine for me.

I just added a new guitar to the herd ... its a Jackson DKM2 Eerie Dess.. they only made them for a couple of years, i was lucky enough to find one in pristine condition. http://i.imgur.com/Qk3dv5w.jpg I am also re-refinishing one of my ibanez 7 strings .. i got the body done last night .. here's what it looks like so far http://i.imgur.com/1af4rOB.jpg It has been upgraded with a hipshot bridge, gotoh tuners, and dimarzio crunchlab7 and Liquifire pickups. I have also added a push/pull tone pot that splits the coils of the pickups to give it a bit of brighter stratlike tone when i want it, and i installed a seymour duncan liberator pickup quick change system. so i can swap pickups in and out easier than changing strings :D

Matte finishes are sprayed on... you wont be able to sand it and make it look correct. i had this same issue with my flat black Jeff Loomis schecter. Your options, in my experience with this are...... 1: you *could* re-clear coat the guitar, using a matte clear coat. 2: you could repaint the guitar completely. 3: you could just acknowledge that matte finishes are never going to remain completely matte. they simply wear smooth over time. personally .. i'd completely repaint the guitar .. but then im a freak like that :P whatever you decide to do .. i wish ya the best of luck! keep jamming

i hate using DD .. it promotes bad habits .. but i DO like having DD .. only to show the sections of the song, so i know whats coming up .. sometimes its nice to know if ive got a 2 bar break so i can crack open a beer .. or if i have an insane flurry of notes to deal with coming up. mebbe its just me

ive been running w10 for a few months, i havent had any problems with it whatsoever, RS, and all the related toolkits, GP6 etc work just fine, the interface can be a bit glitchy at times, but nothing that affects functionality. my system boot time is a lot faster now also, it takes just 12.8 seconds to go from bios to windows.

I ripped the tendons between my middle and ring fingers on my left hand about 2.. almost 3 years ago, it was from trying to go from 0 to satriani in 10 seconds flat .. it was brutal! i couldnt move my hand at all for a very long time .. if anything even bumped my middle finger,.. the pain is unbelievable! so i definately know what your doing through! my hand is better now, but its been a long road.. and i still have to watch what im doing, or it will flare up again. for the first 18 months or so, i was taking 2000 mg of fish oil, and 3000 mg of glucosamine every morning with coffee ... my hand was completely stiff in the mornings, and the heat from the coffee mug helped a LOT.. ive since stopped taking them, though i really should be taking them now. all i can say is .. it will get better in time .. but do NOT push it! tendons heal freakishly slowly, and even then may never fully recover. diligence and due care are key here. to anyone else reading this .. i urge you .. please warm your hands up before you play! an athlete doesnt spring out of bed and run a marathon, you shouldn't be playing with cold hands for the same reasons.
