  1. Make sure you've selected selected a track that supports GP importing. Any of the REAL_GUITAR/BASS tracks will work. Song>track>PART REAL_GUITAR or REAL_GUITAR_22
  2. Have you actually read any of these? Kudos to @@Rockfirstlast for linking to them. My suggestion would be to read them in full before posting further questions. Not trying to be mean... but you'd know the answer to all of the questions that you've been asking if you were to read these :) Knowledge is power!
  3. Not sure exactly how soon it'll be, but it'll definitely get done. I'm putting the finishing touches on a Jimmy Page guitar solo CDLC, much like the one PCPlum did for David Gilmour. That should be done quite soon, with Presence to follow thereafter... Unfortunately I don't have the free time that I used to, so the releases just won't come as frequently.
  4. Since OOTP 16 has now been officially released, I thought it'd be interesting to ask: Would anyone would be interested in joining/starting an online league for CF members? If you've never experienced this fantastic text-based baseball sim, then definitely check it out here. I'd say that if you're the type of baseball fan that loves looking at stats/numbers (the way I do), then you owe it to yourself to check it out. I've been a part of an OOTP online league before, and I've found it to be great fun. If we were to get enough people together to make it happen, I'd ideally like someone else to be the commissioner (if they're willing and know how to run/set everything up). I've personally never been a commissioner of an online league before, but if no one else would want to step up to the plate (pun intended), then I suppose I could be persuaded... :) In order to at least get a rough head count of the number of interested parties and/or reserve your spot, it'd quite helpful if you could state whether or not you'd definitely want to be a part of the league and perhaps which team you'd like to manage (if you have a preference). I'd like to lay claim to the Dodgers, as I'm an LA resident and long-time fan (good riddance Frank McCourt :) ). As for the requirements and level of commitment required, here's a few points: Reliable internet connection for downloading and uploading league files (to submit your changes prior to simming, as well as pull down the new league file after the commissioner runs a sim. Will need to devote about 15-30 minutes, three-ish times a week (simulations are often run 2-3 times per week, with each sim moving the "in-game" time by about a week. You'll want to at least check the new league file each time to account for injuries or necessary lineup/roster moves. General computer knowledge would be needed to set up the league (initially) on your machine and fix any issues that you may come across. This would include copy/pasting to and from the game directory. Set up instructions will be provided, and it's not really all that difficult. If you can get RS to run custom songs, then you'll be fine :)So, who's in!?
  5. Awesome, thanks @@raynebc ! I was under the assumption that EoF would automatically recognize the guitar track and make the switch, but that's a pretty easy thing to change manually before importing.
  6. I've noticed this a couple of times now, using the past several hotfixes. It's now occurred enough times to warrant a mention. When importing a guitar part onto either of the REAL_BASS EoF tracks, the track imports correctly, with the exception of the tuning. The tuning seems to import with values 4 and 5 semitones above E standard. I would think that this is not the expected behavior of EoF, and hopefully easily fixed. Obviously the user can go in and manually change the tuning back to E standard, but I seem to always forget :) Couple that with the fact that you wouldn't notice the problem until you're importing to EoF arrangement into the Toolkit... often after you've created DD using the offending .xml... *grumblegrumble*
  7. Is Cherub Rock listed in your Steam library under "DLC?" I know you've previously purchased it, but if it doesn't show up there, then steam might not be recognizing it as a purchase (for the moment), and therefore all of those custom songs in your \dlc folder (which use the Cherub Rock app ID) won't be recognized by Rocksmith. Perhaps try following the instruction in the first comment on this Reddit thread (the topic itself doesn't 100% apply to your case, but the comment might help): http://www.reddit.com/r/rocksmith/comments/1yrxjv/dlc_not_showing_up_after_purchase/ Temporarily moving the Cherub Rock .psarc to another folder and then refreshing the game cache could force steam to download it again. I'm thinking that'll do the trick, but I'm basically throwing stones at this point :)
  8. Just a thought.... Do you still have Cherub Rock in the dlc folder (I'm assuming that this is the CDLC you previously purchased in order to get customs to work) ? Perhaps try downloading it again from steam even if you still have it. Maybe RS somehow "forgot" that you purchased it previously. J Just guessing, since CDLCs not showing up is usually the result of not having purchased an official CDLC or that you've purchased something other than Cherub Rock and didn't convert the CDLCs over to the Cherub Rock ID. To answer your final question - No, you only need to have the .dll file in the root directory. If you're getting the OS command prompt when starting RS, than you probably have the correct configuration.
  9. You're welcome, man. These types of issues are frustrating for sure. There's no way that I know of to bypass the tuning, so you'll have to wait until you have access to a guitar/realtone cable. If the steps in my last post don't work for you, then I'd say uninstall/re-install Rocksmith and start at the beginning with that tutorial. Best of luck!
  10. I'm honestly not too sure why this would be happening. If I had to guess, I'd say it has something to do with the way your sections or phrases are laid out. Maybe try removing them all and adding them again. Perhaps you've added a "no guitar" section too early, when there were still notes remaining. Just a thought, as I'm not 100% sure if that would cause your problem. Also, maybe try re-creating the .wem file with Wwise. Does the .wav file (that EoF creates) end early too? If your .wav source is truncated, the .wem file will be too. If either of those things aren't the problem... I got nothin' :)
  11. Ok, you are correct. The .dll file goes in the Rockmsith2014 folder, and the songs go in the \dlc folder. So at least we've got that part down :) First things first, make sure you've read ALL of this tutorial: http://customsforge.com/topic/901-how-to-use-custom-dlcs-in-rs2014/ If you follow the tutorial completely, and it still doesn't work, I have a couple of guesses. 1. Did you actually buy Rocksmith 2014 and Cherub Rock from the steam store? You need to have actually purchased Cherub Rock for things to work. 2. Do you have multiple versions of the .dll file in the Rocksmith2014 folder? You should have a total of 4 .dll files in your Rocksmith2014 folder: bink2w32.dll steam_api.dll systemdetection.dll uplay_r1_loader.dll If you have multiple version of the .dll file you've manually added, there may be a conflict. To be safe download the .dll file again and place it in the folder, replacing any that you may have previously added or modified with the .exe patch (perhaps the patch messes with the .dll file. I'm not sure because I've never used it). 3. It's possible that you've messed up the app ID somehow with the Toolkit. Perhaps try deleting Nothing Else Matters (and any song you've tried to convert) and downloading them again. As long as you've purchased Cherub Rock, 99.9% of songs on this forum will work for you without requiring you to change the app ID.
  12. You'll need to place a .dll file in the \Rocksmith2014 root folder (not the \dlc folder where the actual CDLCs go). It sounds like that's your problem. You'll find instructions here: http://customsforge.com/topic/901-how-to-use-custom-dlcs-in-rs2014/ Next time, read ALL of the tutorial :P
  13. What exactly are you trying to do? Why would you be trying to 'replace' Cherub Rock? Nearly every single CDLC here already uses the Cherub Rock app ID, so since you've already purchased Cherub Rock (I think), you don't need to do anything with the Toolkit. If you're just trying to get CDLCs to play, then I'm guessing that you've put the .dll file in the wrong folder. It should go in the Rocksmith2014 folder, not the dlc folder, as your post would suggest you've done. Just move it back one sub-folder and everything should work.

    Tuning..?

The tuning is always "preset" , as you say, because it's basing the tuning on the EoF .xml that you're importing. You'll want to change the tuning in EoF beforehand so that Toolkit is "told" what the tuning should be. You can find this by going to Track>Pro Guitar>Tuning. From there, you'll want to mark each field as '-4', as in 4 steps below E standard tuning for each string. EoF will then ask you if you want to transpose the notes in accordance with the new tuning. Chances are, your arrangement is already based off of your down-tuned tuning. If so, select no. Once you do this (and save), the toolkit should recognize your tuning when you re-select the .xml arrangement. Also, it might be best if you post these types of questions under the "help" section going forward.
  15. It looks like he's just playing a power chord at either the 16th or 17th fret and then sliding down. Maybe try playing one of those along with it and see which sounds better to you. With something like that, the actual slide down is probably more important than the starting point, IMO.
  16. Really nice job, man. Lots of great stuff in here that I'd bet most people don't know about, and a really great job explaining everything. Two teeny tiny things: 1. The Toolkit now supports basically any image file format (.jpeg, .jpg, .bmp, .png, etc.) so there's no need to convert to .dds. 2. When converting the .ogg file to .wem, it's really only beneficial to use a "quality" setting that matches your .ogg file. For example, if your .ogg file is 192kbps, then the quality setting of 6 would ensure that your output is a 192kbps .wem file (96kbps/channel). If your .ogg file was 128kps to start with, it would do you no good to use a quality setting of 6. Your .wem output will actually be 128kps, and the result will be an unnecessarily large .psarc file. To summarize, your output can only be as good as your input. The same also applies to creating the .ogg file with EoF. It's pointless to create a 320kbps .ogg file if the mp3 you're starting from is 128kbps. Anyway, those are small time things. I'm sure a lot of people will learn from what you've created here!
  17. I'm not exactly sure, but my guess would be that the game is using the preview audio, instead of the full song - and therefore it stops scrolling/playing after the 30 seconds of preview audio are up. Make sure that the files are named correctly and that you select the correct file with the toolkit. The files should be named "songname.wem and songname_preview.wem." You may need to get rid of the random letters/numbers that Wwise adds on by manually renaming the files after the conversion. You 'll want to select the non-preview .wem file from the toolkit. As long as the preview file is named as shown above, it will automatically find/use your preview file. Hope this helps!
  18. Down By the Seaside and Night Flight are now completed! OP updated with links, including @@Kamyk 's awesome version of Ten Years Gone!
  19. Yes indeed. I've got Down By the Seaside and Night Flight all charted. I'll just need to create the custom tones and package them up. Hopefully this weekend :) Unfortunately, I've just had a lot less time for the project over the last month or so. Stupid work... always getting in the way.
  20. One reason that the game wouldn't "recognize" the new version is if you still have the old one in the folder. So make sure you've taken the old one out. In most cases, your progress/scores on the previous version will carry over to your new version, so try playing the version that shows up in RS. It might actually be your updated version.
  21. Unlike the charts you make which would be a higher support group of people to add imput. MY charts are of bands most people dont listen to so in which do not receive as much care or support as yours would, being the reason why I have to move the tab around to fit in places where the person marked the wrong bpm or didnt change the bpm at all or missed a rest period of rest or didnt even put the notes, but thanks for youre help I'm not sure what you mean by this. It seems like you're saying that the fact that my CDLCs are downloaded by more people than yours makes me a less credible source of information than you - which is a bit of a head-scratcher. Dude, I'm trying to help you. If you choose not to listen to the advice of a more experienced charter, that's totally your call. I'm just attempting to provide a solution to the questions that you posted.
  22. Like I said, the GP file appears to be in 12/8. That's why it uses the dotted eighth notes. They each get a beat and a half. However, EoF only shows 6 beats per measure, and not 12. What are the time signatures of your GP, and also your EoF arrangement? Because there are half the number of beats in EoF that there should be, it makes it appear that the note durations are wrong, but they aren't. Truthfully, all of this is irrelevant to your problem. Which is that your beat map is not synced properly. NOT THE NOTES, but the vertical lines in EoF. You should almost never move the actual notes, but rather the first beat of every measure or so. The notes will snap into place.
