  1. But learning to play a song in particular can help you learning to play guitar, there's no right or wrong way, every body choose the tool they prefer but looking at the price for one course compared to how much time i spent on RS, it does not seems to worth it at the moment but i personnally have a good background in music that help me.
  2. Well about the guitar, you can still get it to work by inverted the process we used for bass settings. Indicate -11 for every strings in EOF and the toolkit and doubling the pitch in the toolkit might get RS to recognize it correctly as a custom tuning.
  3. AND you can ask the author to just repack the song since the bug is fix with the latest version of the toolkit and so everyone won't have this bug anymore. And there's a list containing most of the problematique customs pinned in the general thread.
  4. Oh and i almost forgot, there's a year stamp in the band name that you might want to delete.
  5. the beat map is off, some notes are missing in the solo (toward the end). About the chord, the A minor kind of chord series especially, they are really hard to get and since we don't have any finger position to help is quite messy. It's not that they seems wrong but they are almost unplayable even at slow speed so at full speed... But everything else is good and i'm quite happy with my 90% on the first try.
  6. Just for information, Guitar pro doesn't export bend in midi or at least the program i used behind never used the information (Fl studio/Ableton Live) and i'm not sure how synthesia will handle this information since not all synthesizer have the ability to do a bend.
  7. Guitar pro can do it by himself too.
  8. Since i wrote music i mostly use it either while writing or when recording when it's not on rocksmith but sometimes i just like to play randomly to find new interesting riff...
  9. A bass part isn't limited to 4 strings in EOF the name is real bass but you can use it as a guitar too. You can have a bonus arrangement for lead/rythm or bass if you only need one bonus arrangement simply use the bass 22 for it if you need more arrangement you need another eof project. In the toolkit you can add as many XML as you want so you just have to select those you need for your CDLC.
  10. When i have only one bonus arrangement i usually use the bass part 22 as the bonus arrangement. If you have two bonus arrangement copy or save your eof project somewhere else so that you have two times the almost exact same project except one will have the bonus arrangement and the other will be the normal one.
  11. If you have any kind of partition (even a scan) and information of the tuning or at least the notes that you can play so that you can pass the tuning part. I might be able to do something out of it.
  12. Music XML is a standard xml notation for music sheet but that's not what EOF uses GP or Sibelius can export in Music XML format and probably other music creation program.
  13. Added All For Me, The Jester's Dance, Dead Alone Updated Evil in a Closet I wasn't able to find any tab for Transparent so if anyone has one, i would be really glad, but that won't stop me to doing it anyway, it will just take a lot more time so i will keep it in stand by at the moment.
  14. Steam is a third party program to buy/play game. Rocksmith needs you to use this program to run and the key is what you use to activate the game on steam if you didn't buy it directly from steam.
  15. Just played 3 bass songs on my trombone with a mic and it works great on RS ends and i played like shit but that's hard to read a tab and to play it... Now i have to make partition for it so that i can keep the real music sheet in front of me with RS for the sounds/rr possibility.
  16. I think it's always created on save, note sure about a particular settings for this, it seems like it was always like this for me...
  17. if you only need a midi file, EOF create one during the creation process of a CDLC, GP can also export music with this format. But i'm not sure about the fact that the midi file will be available in the .psarc file.
  18. It's a bend, the number of arrow indicate the strenght of the bend. There's more details about this in the tech notes tutorial : http://customsforge.com/topic/890-tech-notes-tutorial-authoring-complex-bends-and-more/
  19. Glad that it work! The problem with the name of the tuning is known (it's already the case for the 5 strings bass track) but it's inherent to the tuning you set so unless you find a tuning which correspond to one of the RS known tuning, it will allways be like this. I have to try it with my trombone but i will have to use my microphone with it, that could be a bit messy...
  20. 1. That could be a problem but not really a big one since you always have a tuner available in game. It's up to the player to make sure that his instrument is tuned. 2. That's already a problem that we might encounter on the 5 strings bass part in a guitar arrangement in Rocksmith, the player by not reading the release note go in front of this kind of problem and by putting it on a bonus arrangement you reduce the chance that he play it accidentaly. Having sufficient fail-safe might be great and this thread will allow every one to think about it and see what can be done. The reason of this thread is also to keep track of those CDLC that might be unplayable by actual guitar or bass because indicating this in a clear way in the CDLC search might not be the easiest or best thing to do. It's clear that every instrument with less than 6 strings will be perfect for this but i'm sure we can go more crazy than that like piano or trompet or whatever... If you need any help to set up everything correctly in EOF and in the toolkit, don't hesitate to pm me.
  21. With some new information and knowing that RS recognize a lot of sound a part from guitar and bass, i propose to build some CDLC with some other instrument than guitar and bass like violin or Piano or even voice. We have to keep in mind that the display will stil be as it is and that the tuning part needs to be passed. I don't have a lot of time to chart this at the moment myself but i'm sure some will gladly try this out and i will help in any way possible those who wants to try it. The goal here is to pushed the boundaries of Rocksmith away from the guitar and the bass as far as possible and any crazy idea is welcome. Of course we will need people to try it and mostly instrument that goes with it! The only obligation is to be able to get the signal into the RS cable (you can try to record to make sure it works fine). If anyone is up to it and want to participate, indicate what you can do (testing along with the instrument or charting) and i will list it so that we can start as soon as possible.
  22. So from what i understand with both answer, as long as we have the right note name in the EOF tuning we're good. Then we just have to messes with the pitch to get the "right" octave for RS in the toolkit. So creating part for any instrument on 4/5/6 strins is actually, in theory, possible with the way the tool works.
  23. That goes with what i said there.
  24. In flames at Paris in october, one of their first concer right after the release of their new album. That will be awesome
  25. http://customsforge.com/topic/5420-rocksmith-tab-explorer/ Here is something interesting that just showed up, it might be good to take a look at it.
