Nice easy song:

Not a fan of this and strange chart at some point.

 

It's good that I put on thinner strings yesterday, because there are a lot of bends here. A bit long and boring this chord part before the solo.

 

I thought I would share a project that @Rodman and I recently finished. 

I'm taking a recording and mixing class, and one of the assignments needed a one minute minimum recorded piece with three tracks, then we had to overdub two more tracks.  Most of the class are music majors, so I assume it was no big deal for them, however I was at a loss for what to do.  Rodman happened to message me, so I asked if he would record a few chord progressions that I could try to do something with.  Man, he was all over it and within a few hours had a verse and chorus section recorded. I put some Band in a Box drums to it, noodled out a melody and a song started taking shape. I've been wanting to write a song for a while, so this seemed like a good opportunity. I wrote some lyrics about the coronavirus lockdown and recorded them as an overdub. I sent it over to Rodman and he recorded lyrics for the chorus, and we each recorded a solo.  I mixed it using what I've been learning, and boom...a song!  So here it is, Lockdown, and original song by Rodman and Diceslinger!

 

 

Goddamnit, my ADHD ass keeps forgetting the cutoff. Every week. And for songs I really had fun playing too 😞

Follow-up - anyone else here playing bass miffed at just how many songs are listed as having bass tracks, then don't have them on the actual tabs? Pretty much every second song I'm downloading in B Tuning especially...

 

how is paramore - pool difficulty 4...

i am getting 60% at my best.... it is more like lead for me 😉 and looks like 6-7 after 1st play imho

they should be swapped with iron maiden 🙂

A new week has begun! Beginners song is a bit trivial I think... until the end. But after a bit of practice I managed with only one wrong note (and not in the end 😞 )

At my "own" level, it is a rather tough song... with some strange jumps on the fret board. From the practice run:

Those 2 paths have been pre-rated. I replayed them now and Maiden is a clear 6, Pool on first sight does feel way hard, but itsa few melody patterns that can quickly be learned - 5 on the edge to 5.5 for me. Order seems ok. Let´s discuss and see throughout the week

Thanks! And yes, at the beginning of my guitar and Rocksmith adventure a few years ago I played a lot of Pink Floyd CDLCs. It gave me a lot of experience playing technical songs with a lot of bends but slower tempo. I have more problems with faster songs, but last time I play pretty much everything (championship helps) so I keep improving.

The strings are also important, I changed 11-52 to 9-46 a few days ago, so now it's easier for me to play bends.

I found screenshots with the scores achieved during test songs. I rated Pool at 4, played it once and found it quite easy. I could be wrong.
