USB interface on Mac

fluxcapacitor

Question

I have a friend that wants to dive into creating CDLCs from personally transcribed and created Guitar Pro files.  However, he only works on a Mac.  Is it possible to get RS 2014 working with a USB interface, specifically a FocusRite Solo 2in 2out, on the Mac version?  No real interest here in other connections to the guitar as he is a professional music producer and will not dive into this if the USB interface cannot be utilized.

Thanks for any help here, much appreciated.

Apparently you can just rename the audio device to "Rocksmith USB Adapter" and set it to 48khz to have it work on mac.

In my case I named it "Rocksmith USB Guitar Adapter". If the standard audio settings on Mac do not work because you have a multichannel device I can also recommend Rogue Amoeba Loopback https://rogueamoeba.com/loopback/

This allows to take explicitly certain channels of a multi channel audio device and map it to the new virtual  "Rocksmith USB Guitar Adapter". It was ok, that the new device always has stereo output. I managed to connect Rocksmith that way with a MOTU AVB device and also an AXE FX 🙂 The sound is much better now than the standard cable!!
