  1. more difficult than expected, if one wants to do the riff clean. Great song!
  2. radioheads lead and rhythm as explayed by @ jellisjenius , maybe because of Greenwood education, sometimes it seems really like playing keyboard pieces on guitar (like classical pieces) that on the guitar are all messed up for the fingering @ nlbsmglsk I heard you like the song so I got just above 92% , the red cross shows how much I want to learn the middle part of it not right there with Dream Theater. I didn't learn the solo yet but hey that seems a nightmare Love the song, love Petrucci, I've been at a couple of their concerts when I was 20 too (like 20 years ago). But still unreachable for me
  3. Always loved this song, so catchy!! Radiohead.. love and hate. Sometimes I don't understand the melodies and the arrangements. Overall is very musical but when I try to play them in isolation (like the rhythm parts) sometimes I can't feel it very well. They write weird music. Creep and karma police are two of my favourites though. I think fingering is awkward too.. seeing a live on youtube I noticed they use a capo for rhythm, on the 7th I think, and then play everything on the upper frets. Scorpions always fun, I will not try to learn the solo ahah And finally Dream Theater! I'm spending more time on that than where I compete in
  4. Same problem, profile corruption, 3 times. Unfortunately because I like the song a lot, but fortunately I had a recent backup. Definitely something going on with that song, maybe not for every case
  5. a lot of margin to improve, but I will be out from thursday to sunday so maybe this will be my best
  6. Hi, I want to downgrade to advanced in the lead track. I've realized that I very rarely have the time to study a lead masterclass track properly. I can play for 3 or 4 hours per week max, so I think that having advanced lead and masterclass rhythm gives me a more complete challenge, not focused for example mainly on speed, and probably can give me even more motivation. Keeping mc rhythm will keep me in the upper loop too. If I'll have a streak of 99+ (doubt it) or something changes in the future, I'll be glad to return to mc lead Is this doable? Thanks
  7. I've discovered this playthrough of Cradle Robber of the guitarist of Revocation, Dave Davidson Interesting that he totally downpicks the main (first) riff , while I was alternating it
  8. This song is so fast! After studying a bit all the parts (except the solo) I'm here. playing it dirty PS: will post also Guano Apes later. I loved Lord of the Boards in my teens, never played it
  9. I use an old multieffect, zoom g2.1u, works pretty well for drop/detune, even from E to C and beyond (12 steps). First 3 steps are high quality. Higher notes are not very pleasant when you go down over 3 steps but are acceptable and well recognized. I've programmed a preset for every step to C. It can go up too like a capo, but I never used it. Now there is the Zoom G1 Four that's essentially the same and it costs like 80€, very cheap. Amazon Italian link sorry for the language Zoom - G1 Four/Ifs - Pedaliera Multieffetto, Amp-Simulator Per Chitarra & - Ad-16 - Alimentatore Ad-16 - 9V / 500Ma (Polo Negativo Al Centro) https://amzn.eu/d/9F36RpW
  10. No disrespect taken, but Floyds are a pain in the ass to tune, takes forever especially for intonation. And it's not easy anyway. I had only two guitars for more than 20 years, both with Floyd rose so I'm used to setup them, in every detail, and know some shortcuts and tricks. But without lock it takes like 1 min max to retune, even intonation, with Floyd can take up 15 minutes for a single tuning + intonation, and also to do just drop tuning you have to retune multiple times the other string because every string balances the others. So with Floyd you start to avoid retuning, or ditching intonation at least. Fortunately I have one guitar with Floyd always tuned to E, the other with Floyd always tuned to drop D, then i go with the drop pedal to detune (but it's never like the native experience) Also higher notes on high E on my main don't get always caught correctly (like from 22 to 24), even if intonation is fine. That said, it really depends on a lot of stuff so obviously Floyd is not the main problem. But,if someone must have only one guitar, Floyd rose needs to be avoided
  11. Sometimes I have the same problem with my Floyd rose guitar If I do the bonus instead of the main, will it be considered for the championship? MC songs are sup hard, i will play like ten minutes a day this week on the bed since we don't have space. So I'm aiming to the easiest song
  12. Thanks for the feedback! ok let's try to keep me in MC the bad score we talked about
  13. I'm back! For a short time What a beautiful song this from In Flames! Never heard it! Sightread, easy but beautiful Unfortunately I can't try the MC lead and rhythm because the song is cool but very difficult without proper practice (for me of course). Tried after a bit of learning got 75% I don't know, maybe I jumped to soon to MC and I fit better in advanced?
  14. love lydia - highly suspect! One of my favourite songs I will be out for about two weeks on holiday without guitar. today I've tried MC lead ten minutes ('cause you packing for all the family :|) and this is my best (and only) score after that have fun, I will keep a look at the competition from mobile!
  15. my first gods of guitar full album playthrough (and first attempt too) that was looong (I usually play for 20 mins total now) and sightreading was very bad on solos but anyway I'm proud of it and had fun
  16. MC lead, happy to get 90%. Long song, and half of it is a solo! Red cross on last section, my usual bad sightreading
  17. mc lead, 8.5 is fine, that's a looong solo, nothing impossible, but I need to understand if I find the time I like the arpeggios as usual with Bon Jovi, even if they are too mainstream for me
  18. good job. I didn't have more time this week to invest on guitar so I can't raise. Also I think if wouldn't follow this time because you got bored
  19. a lot to catch up on! that cort is slick, all black. Never heard of fernandes, I like the drawings As main I have this made in japan Jackson Soloist from 2003, bought when I was young as a B-stock (now that b-stock is a concept ) I have also this 1996 made in japan Jackson TH1, my first serious guitar, bought in 1999 or around that time. Now dedicated to drop d or in general to drop tuning. I love Harley Benton, I've got an EX-84 blue with EMGs (81/60 I think, @ nlbsmglsk are these also yours?) for 6 months but I had to sent it back due to an issue, but I think I will buy again one HB soon. Need a guitar without Floyd Rose To change tunings I use an old zoom pedalboard (G2.u1) from my days of humble gigs with the band. Does the job, but doesn't work well on leads when I go under C# std from E No bass in my house at the moment ah it's a sick V! I agree on tuning, I've two floyds, hate them for that. Do you play seated, with the V between the legs? doesn't it slip out on one leg? WTF I have like 500 hours, even if I play from Rocksmith 1. But I didn't play so much in these last 15 years, like 1 hour/week at average. but now I'm getting more committed. Still used to sightread tab better than Rocksmith What is rn?
  20. that's really impressive sightreading, especially for lead parts. Do you have a good music theory knowledge (or are you a professional?) and use scales to "predict" where the lead is going? Out of curiosity, what is your main guitar? also curious to hear from @ nlbsmglsk and @ coldrampage which guitars they are using. mc rhythm improved, this can be FCed with a litte more effort
