  1. I would simply call it "Language", but the idea is great! There are a lot of bands in every coutry that sing in english though, so the origin of the band is not equal to the language. To make this easier to implement, the default language "english" could be set to all the 8000+ customs. Then only the charters in different languages will have to edit their entries. About the difficulty: The 1-10 scale was just added in the Customsforge Championship so you can find some songs there. Lead, Rhythm and Bass are treated seperately there, as well. This would be very difficult to implement though, especially since it is so hard to decide for a rating. The only useful way for this to happen would be to let every user vote for every song, and then take the average values...
  2. I've got one question: I tried to use the tag "Artist Sort" instead of "Artist" for the filenames, but I just can't get it to work. I tried... {artist sort} - {title} {artistsort} - {title} {artist_sort} - {title} {artist-sort} - {title} {sort} - {title} ... and now I've given up^^ Maybe you could add a dropdown menu or a help box explaining the usable tags.
  3. @sfix: You should open up a feature request thread, if you don't want this to become one ;-)
  4. I want / need to display the minus sign "-" in my vocals. In EOF, it looks like the way it is supposed to be: Ih-ah! Ih-ah! Now the following is from the generated XML: <vocal time="67.810" note="254" length="0.997" lyric="Ih-"/> <vocal time="68.810" note="254" length="1.247" lyric="ah!"/> <vocal time="70.060" note="254" length="0.747" lyric="Ih-"/> <vocal time="70.810" note="254" length="0.997" lyric="ah!+"/> And in Rocksmith this becomes: Ihah! Ihah! Is there a way to "protect" a minus sign from beeing interpreted as a separator of syllables? Edit: I tried including a "dash" instead... First I tried –, but this gives an error in the toolkit. Then I tried ‒, but this gives only an empty space in Rocksmith Now there are many more codes for dashes, if noone has an idea I will probably end up testing them all...
  5. Ok, thanks for the clear answer! Maybe I'll check outh GoPlayAlong... there seems to be a free version as well.
  6. Wow, this tool is a great idea! But I feel like it is kind of hidden here in this forum... maybe you should rather post it in the Toolkit Forum since it is directly connected to the use of the Toolkit. Now all the official DLC are sorted correctly as well, nice :-) One thing is that you could use the "version" information from inside the psarc to add it to the file name (and make that v1_0 if no version entry exists, e.g. for official songs or some CDLC) Maybe the creator of the DDC can give you a hint on how to find out whether mulitple levels of difficulty exist in the DLC :-) And I've spotted one problem: Old Filename: rs1compatibilitydlc_p.psarc New Filename: T-Rex_20th-Century-Boy_p.psarc Artist: T.-Rex Song: 20th-Century-Boy This file should definitely be ignored by your program!
  7. Dude, you're kidding me! Btw: Don't put too much effort into this program, it seems like an official manager will soon begin being develped: http://customsforge.com/topic/11788-the-customsforge-desktop-app-how-would-you-like-it-to-look/
  8. First of all, nice to hear about the project again! For the looks: You could for example just copy the website theme(s). This way we get a consistent design. I prefer the white theme: I find it easier to look at, and it uses the whole of my screen (whereas the black theme uses less than the half of my screen widths, which is super annoying^^)
  9. Can you please explain how to mark the slide upwards or downwards in TuxGuitar? From the screenshot of GoPlayAlong in the first post it seems like it is possible there... But in TuxGuitar all I know is that I can either have e.g. this: 4 / 6 But than it is a regular slide. Or this: 4 _ The straight line happens when I add a slide to a single note. But then the information up/down and approximate end fret of the unpitched slide are lost.
  10. Is there any way to edit a gp5 track in TuxGuitar in such a way that slides are directly imported as unpitched slides? I searched around the web and it seems like TuxGuitar itself is not able to specify unpitched slides, correct?
  11. I'm sorry, but now nothing works anymore! Regardless of with folder I try to load, no CDLC show up. When I then hit refresh, I get an error like "Unexpected exeption in the application [...] Start Index must not be smaller than zero" Plus: The line break in the button Refres h is always bugging me^^
  12. 404 URL not found ;-) What do you think about the idea to delete older versions in the DLC folder, if they exist? For this, you should try to compare the song information and version number that is stored inside the psarc, because the actual file names always have a different apperance. Is that possible?
  13. I'm not saying it is your fault, but I understand it may seem like I'm implying that :-) You should see it the other way around: as a compliment! 1. This site is the source for all our Rocksmith needs 2. Rocksmith2014 DLC are shown 3. People are lazy The result is that users may forget the necessity to check other sources, because they get used to this site beeing their only source ;-) I guess the process of including all the remaining songs cannot be automated, so the problem is the amount of work?
  14. Can you give some explanation about how I should organize my DLC in order to have use for this program? If I understand correctly, at the moment this tool 'only' syncs two folders. I do have a second folder with CDLC, but there I only keep e.g. older versions or the non-DD-originals, when I added DD myself. This tool might be useful for a backup of your CDLC collection (which is normaly lost if you uninstall rocksmith), but I use the windows built-in backup for that. The tool would be useful for me, if it could just move a CDLC file from my default firefox download folder to my Rocksmith2014/dlc folder and delete any older version of the same song, if present (or move the older version to the second CDLC folder I mentioned). This would save me some clicks! ... maybe I was wrong and it is supposed not only to copy, but to move the files only in one direction? I tried to test it, but it won't work for me: When I choose my normal download folder on the left side and hit refresh, the file names are "cut off" (e.g. I only see "se Rock_p.psarc" where it should be "Jailhouse Rock_p.psarc"). It doesn't seem to be a specific number of characters, though... in the DLC folder all names begin with "014\dlc\Jailhouse Rock_p.psarc". When I hit copy I get an error that the file is not found (which makes sense because it tries to copy the file ".../Downloads/se Rock_p.psarc" which does not exist) It even gets more weird: When I try to copy from a folder with a longer path name, the problem is the same, with the only difference that the displayed file name is longer as well. So it seems like the folder paths are cut off after a certain amount of characters, and only the remaining string is shown! Also it would be good if the program would remember my path choices! I will prefer moving the files manualy, if I have to set the Rocksmith path everytime I want to copy some files ;-) By the way: Isn't the CustomsForge team working on some sort of CDLC manager as well? http://customsforge.com/topic/9977-progress/ Unleashed didn't specify the abilites of that program, though...
  15. No, editing does not bump... so here you go: I will just repeat my request to include ALL the official content in the search engine. While it seems it was immediately deleted, a RS1 DLC was just posted to the database (Judas Priest - Breaking The Law). I'm pretty sure that would not have happened if the song could have been found in the database in the first place :-)
  16. First thing: When you write "not yet tested", does that mean that you did not start it up once in Rocksmith before you uploaded it? Well... that shouldn't become a habit... CDLC can freeze Rocksmith and so forth! If you want other to TEST your work, then you should post in the Workshop. The Database is for stuff that is finished, or at least well tested... Second thing: I hate to be the one to tell you this, but this song already exists as an official DLC: http://store.steampowered.com/app/206127/ This means you are not allowed to post it here on Customsforge. Of course no one can stop you from using it yourself, and hopefully you did learn a lot in the process.
  17. You don't even have to do that. In the Toolkit, you can import the file that ends on "_prfldb" from the folder "Steam\userdata\XXXXXXX\221680\remote". Gives you the same result, but much faster ;-) If you think there is a problem with the Toolkit, you should post it in the according forum.
  18. Did you watch this basic video-tutorial? http://customsforge.com/topic/11305-creating-cdlc-tutorial-full-process-simplified/ You have to get used to EOF until you understand the tutorial I already mentioned: http://customsforge.com/topic/5099-how-to-sync-your-beat-map/ It tells you how you have to deal with the changing BPMs and I cannot explain it in more detail... There is a simple reason for this: When you start over, the default BPM is 120. This default speed is slower than 164, therefore the song ends before all the notes could be pasted. In this case you have to change the BPM in EOF before importing from the GP-file. ... But this is something you could have found out easily on your own by experimenting with EOF... So please, before you continue asking such basic questions, make sure you watch some tutorials and play around on your own. Also it might be better for you to start with a song with constant bpm. For example, watch the video above and try to sync the very same song. You don't have to go through the complete process of producing the CDLC, but try to get to the point where everything is synced in EOF. This will teach you a lot and save you some frustration!
  19. Read through those: http://customsforge.com/topic/5099-how-to-sync-your-beat-map/ http://customsforge.com/topic/5136-using-beat-markers-to-sync-in-eof/ http://customsforge.com/topic/2393-how-to-get-beat-map/ http://customsforge.com/topic/856-tutorial-for-proper-gp-tab-sync-sectionphrase-authoring-and-more/ There are a lot of songs with changing BPM, especially older ones... and to be honest, this sucks if it is your first custom. What can do is move the beat map around and change the bpm locally. When you spot a change of bpm you set an anchor on that beat. This way changes made after the anchor will not affect what you have done before the anchor. You need a new anchor for every bpm change. People have developed different styles to deal with this, so read the tutorials above
  20. here are all the tutorials: http://customsforge.com/forum/78-tutorials/ For example: Tone creation process: http://customsforge.com/topic/2027-tone-creation-process-for-rocksmith-2014/ Tech Notes: http://customsforge.com/topic/890-tech-notes-tutorial-authoring-complex-bends-and-more/ Syncing and sections http://customsforge.com/topic/10520-creating-cdlc-tutorial-making-sections/ http://customsforge.com/topic/856-tutorial-for-proper-gp-tab-sync-sectionphrase-authoring-and-more/ Lyrics / vocals http://customsforge.com/topic/11210-lyric-tutorial/ Another thing about the BPM: EOF allows more than full numbers (in contrast to e.g. TuxGuitar). This means that the true BPM for your song could be 164.18 instead of your 164.00 With a song a couple of minutes long, this makes a difference towards the end ;-)
  21. 1) Creating the perfect tone(s) for your CDLC is probably the hardest part (after tabbing a song by listening) for creating a good CDLC. Your best choice is to look for similar songs with the same sound effects. We already have 29 Judas Priest CDLC, so maybe you can find your tones there. You can use "import package" in the Toolkit to load up a psarc file and get acces to its tones. The next option is to use the ingame tone creator and just try and error until you find the sound you are looking for. 2) In EOF, go to "Beat"->"Rocksmith"->"Place RS Section" I guess you already looked at some tutorials and videos. Look again and you will find out more about that, e.g. every section must have at least one phrase... use phrases to mark repeating patterns... 3) Again, there are a couple of tutorials. But you want to start with the software "UltraStar Creator" to create a .txt file that can be imported into EOF 4) In the Toolkit, use the DDC (Dynamic Difficulty Creator) - it does all the work for you, you only have to create the "amazing" difficulty! Look for tutorials on how to get the best results with the DDC! 5) This is the same as 1) 6) Yes, you can add both bonus lead and rhythm ;-) You can use all the "PART REAL_*" tracks in EOF to chart your arrangements and assign the correct path in the Toolkit For checking your syncing: - Make sure that you do not drag individual notes, they should be snapped to the beat markers - You can use zoom in EOF to have a better control over where you drag the beat marker - Use slow playback speed(e.g. 25%) and acitvate clap (press "c") to check whether individual notes are realy perfect in sync. Check throughout the song, not only the beginning! In general: Try to read all of the tuturials. When you read one that doesn't seem interesting for you, try to get an overview of what it is about... this way you will remember it when you get to the point where you need a certain feature (good example is the Tech Notes Tutorial... it takes a while until you realize why you need them^^)
  22. Did you consider trying Steam In-Home-Streaming? Check this out if you don't know what it is: http://store.steampowered.com/streaming/ Basically you can use a low-end machine to play on, while your main PC in the same network does the heavy work. Input from Keyboard and Controllers is sent to your main PC, but the microphone input isn't (...yet, Valve will probably include that someday). Thus you were still required to plug the RS-Cable into your main PC, so I guess you would need some sort of wireless audio transmitter (or whatever this is called)... and then you would have to pray that the latency doesn't fuck everything up. Just try out streaming with someone's laptop first ;-)
  23. Good job, interesting sound and nice solo! Here is my negative (but hopefully constructive) feedback though: Maybe this effect is totally desired, but to me it sounds like the vocals do not have enough "presence". Instead it seems like they are only in the background, while the lead guitar is out in the front and showing off. This feel quite irritating for me. Thanks for sharing anyway and good luck ;-) PS: Will we see a CDLC soon? I always wondered if actual musicians recreate their songs in Guitar Pro...
  24. When I use "Alt"-"Tab" on my keyboard to bring EOF back into the foreground, it happens quite often (about every second time I do it) that EOF gets stuck in a state where it thinks the "Tab"-Key is kept beeing pressed. The result is that the currently open menu cycles through all its options at high-speed, normaly this is the difficulty selection. Luckily the cycling stops when I press left or right and then spacebar to play the song, but it is still very irritating :-) Win 8.1, r1350b I have to use the beta to make "Shift" and "Ctrl" work
  25. So... is it correct that it is not possible to use the "PART *INSTRUMENT*" tracks, only the "PART REAL_*INSTRUMENT*" tracks? Do those without "REAL" only work with Frets on Fire? I want to add a Bonus Bass and maybe even bonus lead and rhythm (basically the whole song in two different tunings). Also I think in the first tutorials I read it was explained that I should use "PART REAL_BASS_22" for bass (and not "PART REAL_BASS"). Is there any difference between those? Thanks!
