  1. Maybe I can improve tomorrow, but I won't be able to play for the rest of the week so here are my results: Californication Beginner, Lead: 98.43% http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=320630065 I've been playing this for weeks/month now, but I still stumble upon those arpeggios from time to time. And I also get two many misses in the strummy parts... maybe that's just me, but I feel like the strumming patterns are a little bit... random(?)... quite often they don't fit to what I hear in the song... I can't decide whether I would rate this 3/10 or 4/10. Wargasm: Intermediate Lead: 96.14% http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=320630152 Intermediate Rhythm: 94.94% http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=320630110 Playing Wargasm is like punching my fingers in the face! But I like how it turned out after one day of practise :-) I could probably improve Rhythm, but for now my fingers are dead... 6/10 for Lead and Rhythm seems fine, I think.
  2. Thanks, nice guide! I tried to get OBS to work a while ago but couldn't manage it... now I got it working :-) When I record in windowed mode as you suggested, I capture the actual window border... so I chose full screen instead. My problem is, though: When I turn off "audio exclusivity" I can capture the audio signal, but due to the audio lagg the game just becomes unplayable for me. If I wanted to play through a whole song like this I would have to mute my speakers and play in silence... but even then the resulting video would be horrible, because my guitar is always lagging behind the actual song. Is this better on a more powerful computer?
  3. Adding one empty measure in GP and pushing the offset back is a great idea! And if you think the prompt can be savely removed, then I think you should do it. The COUNT issue has it's own prompt, which I now don't have to ignore anymore :-)
  4. Hi everyone, I recently noticed in a lot of customs that the measures of the music are not in sync with the measures of the chart. This means that the first beat of a music-measure is not the same as the first beat of the chart-measure, but instead the 2nd, 3rd or 4th (in 4/4 time signatures). In most songs, chord changes happen mostly at the beginning of measures. It "feels" irritating in Rocksmith, when those chord changes are not accompanied by the thicker beat lines that mark the measures. It becomes even more irritating when converting a song with the RocksmithToTab converter. If the measures are not in sync, it will e.g. insert a pause at the beginning of the first measure with notes - so in most cases this is an indication that something is not right. I think this problem exists because of the prompt "Reset Offset to Zero" when you save your file in EOF. When you first import your GP tabs, in most cases the measures should be in sync. But when you fill the leading silence with beats, in most cases the measures shift a couple of beats. I see two possible sollutions for this: First: Automatically fill the leading silence with a whole number of measures. For this the time signature would need to be taken into account. In a 4/4 time signature, you would then need to insert only n*4 beats, so 4, 8, 12, 16... Second: Do not prompt the message "Reset Offset to Zero". To be honest, in my own customs I always ignore this warning, and it hasn't caused any trouble so far. The reasons are the following: 1. I want to keep the first beat at the very first note, so that I can always re-import my GP-tabs when I edit them 2. I want the yellow measure numbers shown to be the same numbers as shown in TuxGuitar 3. Measures do not stay in sync This results in a couple of questions: 1. Do you see my problem? Of course, it is only an esthetic problem... but one that could simply be avoided. 2. Are either of my presented sollutions useful / easy to implement? 3. Am I running into problems with my method of ignoring the prompt? Bonus question: Would it be possible to introduce a new kind of anchor that can only exist one time, an anchor where the counting of the measure numbers starts and where the import from GP starts from? (This would eliminate my personal reasons #1 and #2) Regards, Azrael
  5. Here are my results: Intermediate Lead: 92 % http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=319314942 Beginner Rhythm: 98.92 % http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=319330816 Even though I didn't crack the 99%, I'd like to stay Intermediate in Rhythm. I think this is (due to exams...) my first entry since the introduction of the new SSL.
  6. Awesome again! After including subfolders, do you need stuff to keep you going? :-D If yes, the next big thing could be to fully customize the output string with tags like those: Default: {artist sort}{song sort}{version}{DD} But e.g. also possible: {artist sort}{album}{song sort}{version}{DD}{tabber} I think then we are getting very close to enableling everyone to customize his collection the way he likes it :-)
  7. This happens to me often sometimes, but not too often. After a couple of seconds, your text gets autosaved. When the posting failed, be sure to click on "View Auto Saved Content" in the bottom of the editor... this will save you some of the frustration ;-)
  8. Awesome stuff going on here! But I found yet another bug: "_m.psarc" files are renamed into "_p.psarc". I guess you should ignore them, as long as you claim this program "PC-only"
  9. @@RdBass4 Interesting... but that only seems to work for some files @@Alex360 I'm always glad when I can make people happy^^
  10. First reason: Because this is also the way the Toolkit generates the filename in the first place. Second reason: The "Sort" name makes it possible to leave out the "The" in "The Offspring", so that the sorted entry both ingame and in your files is at "Offspring" In your examples you should inform the charters that they are using the Toolkit wrong :-)
  11. When I tried to open a psarc in the latest Notepad++, I just get those weird symbols... could you please explain how you do that?
  12. Lost your bet :P . true give same result, it displays the metadata in the log, but doesn't use it. ex. Old Filename: D - beneatthe - v1_p.psarc New Filename: D - beneatthe - v1_p.psarc Artist: Dream Theater Song: Beneath the Surface Then I have a new bet: "D" is the entry in the metadata "Artist Sort" "beneatthe" is the entry in the metadata "Song Sort" Import the song into the Toolkit and look at the fields - and change them to what you like while you're there ;-)
  13. For the new file name, the attributes "Artist Sort" and "Song Sort" are used. The problem might be that in those cases the "sort" attributes are indeed the shortened names (I've seen that in my collection, too). So the problem is a bad user input in the Toolkit, and not in this program. The issue with the "The" is, after all, just another case of bad user input in the Toolkit. @@Darrken I think you should edit your log to the following style: Old Filename: New Filename: Artist: Artist Sort: Song: Song Sort: Meta Version: Meta DD: Meta Tabber: ---- (empty line) Then we could better see that a song is not named to what is written in "artist" and "song", but instead that "artist sort" and "song sort" are used. And we also get some more valuable information on the go :-) @@Unleashed2k If you plan to use features like this (based on the metadata and not only the online database) in the official app, then it might be worth it posting an announcement about the correct use of the toolkit :-) It seems like some people still don't use the version field, do not include their own name and/or use the sort fields in the wrong way. Especially the charter name field is something lots of people just don't now about, I think...
  14. Sure: For example "Die Ärzte"! http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/junge-r7255 Writing the version into the psarc with the Toolkit is a relatively new feature. We can only hope that most CDLC that are released now do make use of that. As time goes by, the number of CLDC that support it will increase. I've checked once more: The only reason for the version not to show up in the psarc is if you leave that field blank in the Toolkit. It doesn't even accept wrong characters anymore, only numbers and the dot. Of course after an update the information will be wrong if you update only the file name, instead of the number in the Toolkit... but I think the system is as fool-proof as it can get^^ Edit: Renaming multple times in a row with different settings seems stable now - havn't been able to brake it :-P And it even worked with an ending "_DD_V1_p.psarc" ... we are definitely getting there! And thanks for "zero_pad"
  15. More issues I found German Umlaute (Ä,Ö,Ü...) are deleted in the renaming process When you try different settings after another, the version information gets lost: 1. run Artist-Song-Separator: "_" Space-Character: "-" 2. run Artist-Song-Separator: " - " Space-Character: " " 3. run Artist-Song-Separator: "_" Space-Character: "-" ... now all files show version 1! (The problem seems to be the artist-song-separator)
  16. That was fast, thanks! But maybe something got mixed up there? "_V3_DD_p.psarc" is now renamed to "_v_V3_DD_p.psarc"
  17. Thanks for the updates! Now the request by @@TomSawyer2112 has become possible :-) Here is another "bug": In my collection, some files end on "_V3_p.psarc". While the version number with a small "v" is detected correctly, the large "V" is not - the example becomes renamed to "_v1_p.psarc". Another idea: A version "_v1-1" should become "_v1_1", but becomes "_v1" instead In general, to unify the results even more, all "_v1", "_v2", etc. could be renamed to "_v1_0", "_v2_0", etc.
  18. If my comment came across like a military command, then I apologize. I gave a detailed explanation for my opinion to avoid that ;-) Anyway: A new version of the DLC renamer is out, so be sure to check this thread as well: http://customsforge.com/topic/11626-dlc-renamer-program-pc-only/?do=findComment&comment=92600
  19. While I accept your opinion, I disagree with it :-) I prefer my dlc folder as clean as possible, without every charter thinking about how to make their file name look unique. Anyway, all of this is not a problem, if all the information is stored within the psarc. The RocksmithToTab program converts all your tabs at once into another folder. And you have the option to set the file names to your liking, e.g. {artist} - {title} - {version} - {tabber} Then one look into that folder will reveal the information you are looking for. Moreover, a DLC renamer program is just beeing worked on: https://github.com/Darrken/RockSmithDLCRenamer Hopefully, it will give you options as well at some point. Then you can rename all of your files in your dlc folder the way you like it, with just one click :-)
  20. Please, no! Leave the lyrics for what they are meant for (lyrics). Or if someone's doing a lesson or exercise, for instructions etc. There is already a very elegant solution for what you are looking for, but it seems like some charters do not know it yet: In the Toolkit under "Configuration", you can set your own name as the charter, and that name will then be written into every CDLC you generate. As a user, you can see this information for example with the help of the RocksmithToTab converter: http://www.rocksmithtotab.de/ It will generate gp5 files, and the charters name can be looked up in the properties of the song (next to artist, album, etc.) ...so: What you are looking for is definitely not stupid, but there are better ways ;-)
  21. The 5-star rating system already exists... but it is not shown as a column and (maybe because of that?) it is hardly used. Idealy, we get both: A difficulty and a quality rating that are clearly separated. But don't forget: If a DLC sucks, it can be improved. Leaving detailed feedback and offering help with instructions is extremely time consuming, but it's worth it (not in all, but in most cases^^).
  22. Thanks! So {aritst sort} is just not implemented in the program, but could be in the future?
  23. Hi everyone, I am looking for a new tone, and I stumbled upon these: http://axechange.fractalaudio.com/detail.php?preset=2048 http://axechange.fractalaudio.com/detail.php?preset=489 It seems like users can upload their presets for the Axe-Fx II there. So now I am wondering if there is any way to get that tone into Rocksmith...
  24. I totally agree with you ;-) My point was merely that the language would be much easier to implement than the difficulty. The next version of search has been in development for quite a while now and even a download manager is in the making. Hopefully those ideas will be adressed in the next updates! Until then I recommend you to check out the Championship (if you havn't done yet), because it serves exactly the purpose of finding new songs in your difficulty level that you would otherwise probably have never tried out ;-)
