Error with Toolkit Configuration (DDC)
Rockfirstlast replied to Rockfirstlast's topic in Rocksmith Custom Tool Kit (ARCHIVE)
Everything worked fine when I started a new project. I'll try with the old project again and give results tomorrow. -
Thanks again

Thanks for the update, SHIFT+F11 is very useful. I found a little bug. If you select a note and press up or down to change strings, the fret value will change to 0. Also, a long time ago it was changed so ghost notes wouldn't make a clap sound effect. A few months ago it reverted back to making a clap (not sure if someone asked for this).

Dynamic Difficulty Creator
Rockfirstlast replied to Chlipouni's topic in Rocksmith Custom Tool Kit (ARCHIVE)
Berneer: I didn't look at your files (sorry if I'm wrong) but I bet there is a start of a section/phrase where that little glitch is. Try placing a fret hand position of 4 at the start of the section/phrase, even if there isn't a note there. -
New display glitches appear with RS2014 Remasterd
Rockfirstlast replied to Chlipouni's topic in Editor on Fire
Also, the handhape written in the XML will pass through the phrase (in the first pic the start time is 17.5seconds, end time is 20.5 seconds) But the phrase will cut off the handshape in-game. -

EOF warns you if a handshape crosses a section/phrase MOST of the time. This did not give me a warning: http://i.imgur.com/W9F5U4Z.png This gave me a warning: http://i.imgur.com/2a27Jzs.png In-game both examples look the same (as expected) with a normal chord with the handshape lines ending at the phrase. The following three chords are isolated repeat panes. There are ways to chart that fixes this, but I've seen numerous CDLC's with broken handshapes, possibly cause they never got a warning (also possible the warnings were ignored). -
downloads sound extremely horrible
Rockfirstlast replied to darkbassist's question in Rocksmith Remastered
Nothing wrong on your part. You are correct that sometimes tones don't match properly. The most effortless solution is to have a few good tones saved in the tone slots. Switch to those when needed. You COULD adjust the CDLC tones yourself using the Rocksmith toolkit, but you'd have to do it for every song and every tone change. -
Note detection/CDLC issue on one of my customs
Rockfirstlast replied to Billkwando's question in Rocksmith Remastered
I played in score attack ignoring the palm mutes. Detection was fine; I got 850,000 points. Then I played in score attack doing all the palm mutes. Missed a few when my mutes were too hard. Had good results using bridge pickup and easing up on the palm mutes. -

HOW MANY CORDS HAVE YOU BOUGHT?
Rockfirstlast replied to bobbybrady123's question in Rocksmith Remastered
I have 2 cables. Original RS2011 that came with the game (had to solder on a new jack after several months, the wires are super thin) I bought a backup just in case the A->D converter ever breaks. -
Singer - Jack Black Guitarist - Kyle Gass Bassist - none Drummer - none, but sometimes Dave Grohl

How to change the area of the fretboard that is shown
Rockfirstlast replied to woobertdoo's question in Rocksmith Remastered
Add sections and phrases. Here is a simple tutorial, though there are many others too. http://customsforge.com/topic/10520-creating-cdlc-tutorial-making-sections/ -

Just tried it Got a lot of misses on the bends, but it's expected. If you play it as you hear the song it's more of a slow gradual bend for each chord. Check the tech notes tutorial for how to change bend strength and charting regular bends vs prebends. Honestly, it would be a lot of work and Rocksmith isn't perfect at quick bends anyways so it's probably not worth the effort. A "cheating" shortcut would be to apply the ignore status which disables the onscreen MISS message. Or better yet, accept the miss! It's ok, Kurt isn't really playing in tune anyways and it's more about making noise. As for choosing one of those chords, this guy who seems to have put some time in the song is playing with flatted fifths on the G and B string. It makes sense for such a chaotic song. On a related note, this song is one of the few examples where you'd get a cleaner chart selecting "Don't auto-name double stops" in the F11 menu.

Songsterr says it's in the usual Korn tuning: ADGCFAD. In Rocksmith you'd have to set it to ADGCFA (lower six strings). You'd miss out on the all the solo notes on the high string. You could play the solo if you kept it standard tuning, but then you couldn't hit the low chords in the riff.

CDLC missing cover art, then locks RS on a Mac
Rockfirstlast replied to elbowdonkey's question in Rocksmith Remastered
Somewhat related. I on PC. Even official cover art doesn't load sometimes. -
Thanks for making this guide. Lots of good stuff and easy to understand.

It'd be nice to get rid of that error message when adding handhapes to the end of a chord slide. No names (or " ") for double stops would be cool too; although a bad idea to automate if the chord has a note on the low 3 strings. I know you can do it manually in the Edit Pro Guitar Note menu, but it'd make for some cleaner charts if chords containing ONLY 2 notes in the EBG strings were nameless by default. :) Maybe a checkbox in the preferences menu if guys really wanted to show all the chord names.

Using the latest toolkit you don't have to touch Wwise after it's installed. Load up the wav file EOF produces and the toolkit will create the wem for you. Don't forget to let EOF create a preview file too. (Song -> Create Preview Audio) Let the toolkit do it for you so you reduce the chance of making a mistake in the wem conversion.

Not much into FPS but this is pretty fun. I usually play just around or two at the end of the night. Pharah is pretty cool; reminds me of iron man.

-Use the latest test build toolkit. -Whenever you have tone issues, removing the arrangement and re-adding it will usually solve the problem. I bet it will work in your case.

And I barely learned you can skip fine tuning mode. When you are forced to change tuning, press up/down to skip strings. You only have to tune the last string. Then you can do the quick tune and move on to the song. This is helpful if you are switching between guitars and know they are in tune.
