Rocksmith 2014 Championship Week 602

Imo nepobaby is a weird term. I would imagine it would definately help if you've got family or friends in the bussinnes but at the end of the day that can only take you so far since you can't really "force" someone to like your music lol. Also, if i were in the position to give an opportunity to someone who really desired that position in a field i was in, aka friends or family, I think there would be no hesitation in trying to help them accomplish their dreams if you could, but maybe that's just me? Nepotisim /nepo baby is only bad if they are half assing it/ they are being forced by family or friends as its not really their personal dream. But since music is subjective and not something really measurable, it is an odd term to throw around in my opinion for anything in the "Arts category". Unfortunately there will always be someone more talented unrecognized out there due to x reason but I think platforms like tiktok has sort of helped there. Who knows how the algorithms works or if the views are legit or whatever but you still gotta respect the hustle if they are putting out lots of content. And yeah it was wiped out of my memory aswell i was surprised they even had a music video together. Speaking of nepobabys tho lol south arcade has a song called that and it was one i was considering instead of the one i chose, but i like the guitar riff more on stone cold summer- 75 replies

Rocksmith 2014 Championship Week 602

Yep time flies! You've managed to go from begginer to advance in rhythm class and intermediate in lead so congrats and keep working hard! Also 94% to a full cover of the song thats pretty impressive. As for my nin project here it is: got burried and abandoned long time ago I rememeber trying to do vocals and i was like yeeep nope . So i tried using his vocals but even then it still sounded wacky. I do have more fun imo creating new songs or remixes instead...covers didnt seem to do it for me creatively. Yeah I really enjoy ignition when people upload new songs cause it keeps me up to date with bands that I like but dont really follow. Forexample I didnt know adtr released a new album so i still have to listen to it. Hopefuly its better than better friends cause that album was a bit low for me, but i do think the more you listen to songs you tend to like them more so probably just needed to listen to it more.- 75 replies

Tbh, dont really recognize the name and probably wouldnt even have searched him up cause his part in the song really didnt do anything for me/ wouldve been fine without it / i like point norths vocalist more, untill you commented about him. Surprised he has almost twice the monthly listeners of point north (that band i did know from since when ghost in my home was released) A quick glance at his songs looks like he just does cover or sings on top of famous beats? cause i do remember hearing the banjo beat instrumental all over tiktok and yt shorts but ive never heard of damn...i do remember seeing the paparoach remix song and being like why? Doesnt seem for me but respect for him finding success and i guess it goes to show that there can be success by doing covers.- 75 replies

No theme this week just suggested songs and kinda recent made cdlc. The begginer song might seem intimidating at first but its doable, I would play the other paths of the song ( alt lead 1 and 2) to get a hang of it. To me lots of the songs had similar dificulty on bass so i went and got other bass songs. South arcade songs structure is very simple and was tempted to put it in intermediate but the main hook is kinda fast and i couldnt get a good score, meanwhile my chemical romance song i did so thats why they are sorted that way. masterclass song is tough. Anyways, leave your ratings when you upload your scores to average them out, (numbers is prefered since i cant average higher than x or lower than x) And if you like any of the cdlcs or see any errors let them know. thanks Hopeyall have a nice week!- 75 replies

i think this one is my favorite of the ones you made so far! Im always a sucker for 4 chord songs lol. Never would've imagined this song to be simplefied to that extent or without the main piano melody but it works! goes to show that a song with good lyrics and melody can carry itself. very nice work Rod and your daughter. (btw does she play gtr/ participate in rocksmith championship?) -
Rocksmith 2014 Championship Week 601

I agree and would also say difficulty also depends on the genre for example Bass for punk or metalcore may be easy but for disco and jazz its usually harder than the rhythm guitar. I never learnt to solo and honestly dont plan on learning cause the music i like doesnt usually shred, its just basic stuff. So for me, lead is usually the hardest (if it has a solo and doesnt do octaves cause octaves paths are usually simpler for me atleast) then rhythm and then bass. -

in other news https://www.waves.com/bundles/free-plugin-pack heres a free plugin bundle for those who are doing covers and want some free toys. Waves is an ok vst company, not a huge fan of theirs cause they usually want you to pay for updates... But since this is free i dont see the harm. -

So nope not cheating at all! there is lots of ways to place the fingers in the chart. The way i have charted that section is you use your first finger on the 3 then you jump/ shift to the 5 place your first finger there and youll be hitting the 7s with your ring finger. The Blue lanes that are highlighted is known as the frethand position (where you should have your fretting hand) so when it moves to the 5, 5 6 7 8 are now highlighted cause your first finger is on the 5. If I had made it so that 5 7s are played with the ring and pinky it would look like this: It does look cleaner but usually i would just use that shape ( I call it the m shape cause it looks like an M to me aka fret skip fret skip fret) starting from 5s and up. (so 579) When i mention shapes i mean a position you place your hand without shifting. When its lower, anywhere from 0 to 5 I much rather shift my hand cause i find it more comfortable and its funner for me cause then i can add unnescary slides. Also with M shapes Its good to remember you usually can play last note aka the 7 on the string bellow one fret down so that is also another reason why i probably wouldnt use the M shape on the lower frets cause another shape is more accesible without moving the hand. so 4 yellow would make a new shape i refer to as the N shape since you are now fretting 2 3 and 5 ( the missing shape is an R shape which is called that cause you use the ring finger so 5 7 8 Anyways going off a tangent, both ways are acceptable and practical. Do whatever way makes you enjoy the chart more . Whats important is the result/ how it sounds like not really how you do it imo. I thought I had tabbed it both ways but looks like i didnt so maybe ill change that later. -

From what the creator of charter has stated in the Charter discord and in Customsforge discord is that the import function of guitarpro to charter still needs work. I personally never use guitar pro and just have done everything in eof so i dont know if those same issues are present in eof or not. I will give charter a shot once i finish a project im working on. I remember using it last year and it was pretty good but had to redo some projects cause it crashed and all my progress got erased. I'm sure thats fixed by now though. Also Charter was made cause eof no longer recieved updates however its creator is active again and doing updates soo I'm still unsure which one is "better". It can help yea, but you still need to use your ear to transcribe what you hear. Itll just make seperate wav files for bass, vocals, drums and other (which tends to be guitar + any synth) . There's lots of free software online most of them use a credit system which im not a fan of. Thats why i use uvr5 cause its just something you download once and itll seperate unlimited stems for you. Theres also more expensive tools/ plugins like Rx8 by izotope that do something similar but the difference isnt that huge so why not just stick to the freebie. Sometimes basses or any instrument are hidden in the mix so thats when i find it usefull as it helps me identify notes easier by ear since theres less guessing work ( aka its clearer if its bass rather than perhaps a guitar) . Sometimes notes arent too clear though in seperation and are too muddy /underwatery but i find its the best thing if there are no live videos ( and even live videos sometimes are bad cause usually only the singer is in frame) There are software that claims that can do wav file to transcription but from what ive tested they all seem pretty faulty. Technology doesnt seem to be there yet but i don't doubt it will be soon.
