  1. It looks like all of the CDLC uploaded by @dreddfox went missing, it all returns 404s. Unfortunate, since I wanted to play Rat Salad. Is there anyone who might have backups of some of his tracks?
  2. Sweet! I've been wanting Still Life for a long while.
  3. I've given the tabs for The Great Unknown to @@Nacholede. I've also released a new one for Dance of Death, Face in the Sand: http://customsforge.com/topic/28546-face-in-the-sand/ That means that Dance of Death only has one song left to do (Journeyman)
  4. Montségur is completed and is available on Ignition. I'm still working on the tabs for The Great Unknown but I will make that my next project. :)
  5. Wildest Dreams is done also: http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/wildest-dreams-r21269 I have started on getting a cleaned-up Montségur and also The Great Unknown tabbed for bass.
  6. I feel like they snubbed the Star Wars Imperial March on purpose.
  7. Will be seeing my first concert (Iron Maiden) tomorrow.
  8. Just did a small track that I noticed we don't have - The Ides of March. Has LBR arrangements. You can find it here: http://customsforge.com/page/customsforge_rs_2014_cdlc.html/_/pc-enabled-rs-2014-cdlc/the-ides-of-march-r20449
  9. Thought about making an edit on last post (eight edits, wow, I was kinda busy eh), but I'm happy to report that I got a bunch of Iron Maiden cds for Christmas, so I should have access to better quality audio. I got Fear of the Dark, Virtual XI, Powerslave, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, and Number of the Beast. That being said, I've got a version of Como Estais Amigos in the works. It's coming along, but the bass tab has many mistakes - I suspect the guitar tab may also be wrong, but I can't test at the moment while everything is in storage. Expect LRBV, 256khz audio (straight from the CD) and a video with this one. Also in my WIPs: The Mercenary (to finish off the Brave New World album)Ghost of the Navigator (new/fixed version)The Fallen Angel (new version, with bass also)Gates of Tomorrow is in desperate need of an update, the lyrics are timed wrong and the phrases are weirdly done. I kinda rushed through that one. Lightning Strikes Twice could use better quality audio.
  10. I still think they will do something more with the game before moving on to a new one. After all, there is a whole section of the shop (Expansions) with no content whatsoever. My guess is that they will bring in keyboards as some kind of expansion to RS2014 like they did with Bass to 2012. Could also add vocals via AM/FM like SIngstar used to do in order to detect whether people are singing correctly. What I would like to see - and someone else in this thread nailed this perfectly I think - is that they move from it being just a "game" to being more than just that - a professional tool. Seeing as how a lot people learned how to play guitar from Rocksmith (myself included), it's the next logical step for them to take as a developer. We have the beginnings down to a T, but there is still room for more. Give us some sort of Guitar Pro-like tabulature development with the ability to save and share our creations with others. And on top of that, I would like to see some expanding on the multiplayer, perhaps with a competitive online component. Maybe you can save "bands" which can consist of either local or online players and perform setlists. I can see big potential here for Twitch integration (because let's face it, streaming for this game is a bit of a nightmare at the moment)
  11. I haven't tried the new hotfix either, but I ran into this issue again. Fortunately there wasn't anything at the end of the song that couldn't be copy/pasted from other sections.
  12. Just an update - I have finished the lyrics, and will be starting work on my next track - The Pilgrim. After that I want to take a crack at either Gates of Tomorrow or Brave New World. After Brave New World is complete we will only have one more song left on that album before it is totally done! EDIT: The Pilgrim is coming along nicely. I will have to edit the tab in EOF manually though as it looks like there's some mistakes in the original tab. Also, Lightning Strikes Twice is available on Ignition. :) EDIT 2: The Pilgrim is finished, same story though, Bass and Vocals only. Going to do Brave New World next as that one should be pretty easy. EDIT 3: First run of Brave New World is done. Still some timing issues. That's enough work for today. EDIT 4: Brave New World is done. Working on Gates of Tomorrow. EDIT 5: Gates of Tomorrow is done. Tailgunner up next. There are some currently charted songs which I feel are poor quality, such as Ghost of the Navigator so I might do those at some point. Also there is no bass tab for a few songs, so I have contacted the authors of those to see if I can't help. I think after Tailgunner though I'm going to review the songs that I've done and see if I can't improve the timing even further. I think one (The PIlgrim?) also doesn't have Dynamic Difficulty. EDIT 6: Tailgunner is done. EDIT 7: Lightning Strikes Twice got an update with Lead and Rhythm tabs done. The Pilgrim cannot receive the same treatment however as either the tab or Guitar Pro is broken (it reads just fine in EOF though, hmmm...)
  13. Speaking of guitar leads...I have a WIP version of my Lightning Strikes Twice up. But I will need help with the guitar. I don't currently own a guitar to test, and I am a bit of a beginner at charting, so the alternating sections between Dave Murray and Gers (not to mention that the intro clean guitar is on a different sheet entirely) are a bit of a challenge for me to add in. I got the bass in though and I will be adding in lyrics and DD. Here is link for anyone who is interested / can send me an XML file for the rhythm and lead arrangements. The bass is playable bar a few timing related issues in the solo. https://www.dropbox.com/s/w2l12vpwposkose/Iron-Maiden_Lightning-Strikes-Twice_v_p.psarc?dl=0
  14. This is all really helpful information. I have an amp, but it makes my bass sound like an electric guitar more than the smooth, jazzy sound of what I hear with other players. Part of this I suspect is the actual hardware itself. What is a good set of amps to look into? I wouldn't know the first thing about them. Another thing I suspect is the strings. My action is quite low and I need some heavy gauge strings.
  15. Thank you. :) I have been recently learning how to play Transylvania. Currently I'm up to 91% accuracy but need to get a bit better. Found that there's an easier way to handle the first two "verses" than what the current custom has.
  16. Hey all. :) It's definitely likely that I need a new bass anyway, as the sound is really muddy even with new strings. I had to loosen the pickup twice now for Rocksmith to register the sound properly. It's one of these El Cheapo Davison guitars that I bought for like $80. It's not bad for learning, but I think I need something that sounds, looks and feels nicer, at the very least for playing around other people. I've checked out a few at a local store and they were all quite small as I remember compared to the one I have now. But currently, playing a song like Afraid to Shoot Strangers or Fear of the Dark are quite painful for me, even with index finger and pinky. I think I will get some flak for this, but I have only been doing two-finger plucking. I read that this is what Steve Harris does as well. Is there a way to pipe the audio of what I'm playing in Rocksmith to a recording? I find it's easier to get into rhythm when I'm playing. I have played with the song audio all the way down and with the audio on, and my tests mostly gave better accuracy when the audio on. I had this hairbrained scheme the other day to replace the original bass of the recordings with me playing and see how they compare. Since all of the old Maiden songs were recorded with the bass on the right (I believe) channel, it should be possible. When you listen to The Clairvoyant at least, you can hear quite a few buzzes and mistakes. :)
  17. I have been playing bass now for 8 months, and I feel quite self-conscious about my playing abilities. Some buddies have asked to jam in the past but I have been kicking my feet and turning them down because I just don't know if I'm good enough at it. I was wondering - when you have a complex song, how long does it take you to get "good" at it? Because I tried Phantom of the Opera by Iron Maiden, and that's a tricky song in and of itself. (not me playing it) It took me like a week to get it down, but it's not really perfect. I struggle a bit with the solo. Also, I seem to have a hard time with the power chords. The frets are kind of far apart, so I have to use my index finger and my pinky to do power chords. Is this normal? Or should I opt for a bass with a smaller neck?
  18. Hi, I've just now found this thread. A few things: - Deja Vu is listed as "not done" on the OP but it's in Ignition (?). I have played this song quite a few times. - I have Lightning Strikes Twice partially finished but I'm not all that great at getting the sound synced up. Also I don't play guitar (just bass) so if someone wants to give that a once-over that would be helpful. - If I may request a few songs: The Pilgrim, Gates of Tomorrow, Book of Souls, When the River Runs Deep thx for all the hard work :D
  19. How do I mark it as crazy? Here's what it looks like right now: http://i.imgur.com/1soaKi6.png and here's how it should look: http://i.imgur.com/hD5s3xQ.png
  20. Not sure if this is the right section, but I am working on a bit of CDLC as a personal project and I ran into a bit of an issue: the last chorus of my song on the bass turned into one (very long) sustain due to (I'm guessing) an error in the Guitar Pro import and is incorrect. I don't understand the controls very well on this - all I want to do is copy notes from one section of the song to another. I can't seem to figure this out and the controls are a little messy to me in the manual. Unrelated, but is it me or are the Guitar Pro imports a bit fiddly with the BPM? I have to adjust them on a beat-by-beat basis most of the time in order for them to get anything correct. It's like they're all 10BPM too fast except in certain parts where they're 5BPM too slow.
