  1. I did something about the advanced song... But I must admit. This is as good as it gets for now. I also improved one of the intermediate songs, but only with a few points:
  2. The advanced is a bit over my level, but it's fun. Maybe I'll try it again a bit later... but this was was yesterday evening.
  3. It was a good day for the intermediate songs. I've got them both on 100%. I've also tried the advanced Led Zeppelin, and had more or less control of the beginning riff, then came an easy part, more of the same riff... and then hell broke loose. Oh, well... but the intermediate are good.
  4. Metoo...# It's nice to have some "idols" to look up to, but also a challenge for the self esteem... sometimes.
  5. Todays practicing only made a small progress with one song... so close to the 100%... I made a new high Score on the other intermediate, but the accuracy was not any better:
  6. Yesterday I had some succeses with the intermediate songs: And by the way. I think the bonus songs should be awarded points along with the "regular" songs. (Unless it is very hard to measure... ). Just my opinion. Now I'll begin rehearsing the advanced song(s) as well...
  7. I'm beginning to get the hang of those intermediate songs. They are fun in different ways. Like the beginners song, I like the Green river with all the string changing (and still in my level ). Almost there: And also quite nice, but needs a bit more perfection:
  8. And now, I've begun this weeks trials. Starting with the beginner bass. It's a quite fun song, though quite some waiting in the beginning. Reminding me of playing wind instrument in a symphonic orchestra... 184 bars of rest. Damn. But an interesting bass part, getting to practice string changes. At my "own" level, there are a bit more to practice on, but not impossible. I'll get to it... And the bonus. It's another great (and fun) bass part, but I'm not happy with the notation. The bars in the game does not match those in the music, but this time, I should be able to listen for the right rhythm. It'll get better... but I've begun! The advanced songs are ... well rather advanced. I don't think I'll come to that (to much at sea ). Maybe give it a go/swim later on. Thank you for some nice songs!
  9. I'm looking forward to play some new songs. I did have a few play throughs last week, but forgot to share my Sabaton. I was not proud of it, but thinking I could have "won" was out of the question. Oh well...
  10. Seems like I forgot to post my improvements on the beginners songs: And... But Sabaton is still a long way...
  11. Speaking of visualizing the Sabaton. Sometimes I use the RockSmithToTab program. It has helped a few times to get understand the music (as said, I'm rather good with notes): This didn't help me: I'll get back to listening, but it's so fast...
  12. Good answers. My wondering was a kind of asking, not to be taken as complaining. But I was frustrated, because the to first songs were so rather easy, and my own level so damn far from my level. My complaining of the slides has nothing to do with the organizers. It's just annoying, like when people complain about Drop D not being recognized (that I seldom have problems with). I think you are right, that the The Gold was 6/8, but it was not noted in 6/8, but rather 6/4, meaning the (small) lines were on the 1st, 3rd and 5th note and so on (the semiquavers/8th notes), while it should have been on 1st, 4th etc. It helped me a lot, when I began listening more. One of my strenghs is to read notes and play rhythms (based on the notes), so when it's of (visually) I get it wrong. But now it's so last week. But yes, you have a point with different strengths and weaknesses. Sometimes I print a note-version to get a visual overview... I am a long way from playing with a pick. Never really learned it. I think that The Reincarnation of... is more simple. in many ways. But it could have to do with the fore mentioned strengths and weaknesses. Out of curiosity it could be nice to know what others think of a comparison of those two songs.
  13. Sometimes I wonder if the difficulty values are compared. In this week I must insist (for the bass path), that Tom Waits is by far the easiest (max level 2). And I have a feeling, that the original might have used some higher strings, but okay anyway. My first play through: I can get it right in a few days. The bonus beginner was also nice and only slightly more difficult than Tom... maybe 2.5. And then came Sabaton. I really like Sabaton, but this has not much to do with intermediate level. It's stupid fast. If I'm going to get a good score on this, it would be pure luck, rather than the actual rhythm. Second, more often than not, Sabaton uses B standard tuning (or rather a 5 stringed bass), so all the yellow 2nd frets should be a loose B string (making it quite a lot easier to play (since I have 5 strings)). I'll have another go with it tomorrow, but I don't have high hopes for learning it. It is by far more difficult (in my opinion) than last weeks advanced song!
  14. Had some small progresses... Intermediate is still rather annoying. I don't think the slides are difficult, but to get the computer to register them fairly is hopeless. It seems like the first slide should be after the attack, while the next to should be at the the same time as the attack... or something like that. That ruins the enjoyment of the song and gets to technical over the right rhythm and notes. It's a great song, but now just annoying trying to better my score. Had a small step yesterday: On the other hand, my Iron Maiden is getting much better, and I can now play most of it, but misses a note now and then, when changing... But this is really okay.
  15. Todays practice gave only a small step forward on one song, but since it was in my league I'll "report" it right in. Here a small step can make a difference in the competition.
  16. Had another go today. Much better. Especially the beginners song, though the rhythm is still a bit off, but did quite well. With the intermediate, I was a bit fast with the screen shot. I still misses a lot of notes due to sliding (and recognition), but I think I've begun to understand how it interpretates my playing... This is also okay, but I can do better. And then there is the fun Iron Maiden. This is quite okay, for the level above me. Almost as accurate as my intermediate song.
  17. The Iron Maiden is getting better. Still having trouble with chords and some (slow riffs), but the computer is pretty sure I'm capable of playing it way better than I am. But an accuracy of 96% is also quite okay (though some misses are never discovered). I'll soon try the Score Attack. As goes for my own league... we are not good friends. Contrary to Iron Maiden, the computer finds more flaws, than I'm playing. Especially in the beginning with all the sliding. Often when I slide, it does not recognize the note I'm sliding from. That is very annoying! And the streak never gets to build up. It's a great song, and I'm beginning to like it more. But it's really annoying with the recognition failures. The beginners song is also very good, and enjoyable to listen to, but I think it might be harder than mentioned. It could be 6/8, as mentioned. But I really have problems with getting the rhythm right... and problems with interpretation of what the right rhythm is. That is also the main reason I don't think it is a beginners song. It is indeed a beautiful song!
  18. I must say, that the beginners song are harder than usual. And I think the rhythm is wrong. It looks like it's 6/4 (with 8th-notes), but sounds like 4/4 (with a lot of triplets). That does not make it any easier! And I think the other strings should have been used quite a lot more! The intermediate is also a bit difficult, but rather fun as well... not my typical type of musik. But I forgot to take screen shot, though I'm not completely happy about it yet anyway. The advanced is nice, but who gave the bass chords?!? I like Iron Maiden (also the new stuff), so I'll practice this one as well. But for starters:
  19. A small (a very small) improvement. No frog leaps here... though a very small leap is maybe exactly a frog leap. I'll have another go in a few minutes. Just wanted to be sure to get the best run in to the competition. Quite a bigger jump in the next class, but still quite some percents after others.
  20. Yay... made a good one on that intermediate... still fingering. Though that is what I do. Never picking anything (but my nose). And soon I'll have a go with the Karosene.. in tempo... so far I'm at 95% speed, and it's okay 20 or so misses.
  21. me too...# What's the point in having bonus paths if not? I mean, if no recognition or award of any kind, then no need for bonus paths. If I need other things to play just for the fun of it, I'll go nuts on the CustomsForge-page. So I'd say: reward points, mention names and so forth...
  22. The intermediate just needs a few justifications, then... But this is also quite okay. And I've begun practicing the next level as well, but that still requires some practicing.. to get it up to speed. Now it's "so so" on speed 85%...
  23. The beginner song was not so tough this week. First a go at "learning", and then this in second go: But I must admit, that I have a feeling, that "Drop D" is not the style of Ed Sheeran, and a few places I think he would have used a few more strings. But fun to play something not my style. Though I don't think I'm gonna play it anymore. The intermediate went quite good, but I forgot to take the screenshot. So that'll have to wait. The other two songs are completely out of my league! I think...
  24. Well, you forgot the bonus intermediate bass winner...
  25. Speaking of clarity about deadline. This week ended around half an hour before the magic 7pm CET. So no frog leaping this week, though I made a better version of Def Lepard than before, but not better than yours anyway.
