  1. I love the idea, but it seems to me, that it's the same version. It still asked me to tune to D-standard.
  2. Todays practice has bought fruit... og born fruit... or something. It was good. The beginner song is good warm-up. Getting better at moving my hand to the right positions. When it comes to the intermediate, I must admit, that all this tuning is annoying. And remember to retune after a while. If the bass has moved, it won't recognize some of the notes. Still: If anyone could make a version for E standard tuning I would be grateful. And then suddenly my pinky has to join the playing... damn. I have to look at that middle part some more. It's actually a quite good song. Thank you. And the bonus song. I'm getting to like it. Still some parts, that need practice.
  3. Another week has begun. Yesterday I started up with the first four songs. First of an okay beginners choice. Then starts the tuning... I like the bass part, though a bit repetitive. But all this tuning around. If anyone is making a version for E standard I'd like a copy. I know it's possible with one of those programs, but last time I used it, my RockSmith stopped working. The bonus intermediate is less fun... I'll give it a go again. But it's also further away. Finally I tried the advanced song, but there is a reason, that I'm not competing on that level.
  4. Thank you. Good to know, that it's not just me. The problem is, that I want to be good at playing bass, not computer. And sometimes I'm afraid that I might have an "off feeling", and that would be terrible in a band. It's really important that I can play with what I hear. And on another note. If I someday want to play at "master"-level (without the dots), I'll only have the sound.
  5. Two days more are gone, but I've moved on the songs. First of the beginners "choice". It's fairly simple, and this time, I managed to get a better score, but I have this feeling, that it's a bit of. I feel I have to play very laid back (or late) to get the better precision. Do you have the same feeling? Then there is this never ending song about the mirror. Go buy your own damn mirror! I still don't care much for the song, but I played it another time today... and behold! An improvement! On the other hand, the advanced song is so much more fun. I really like it, and so I've practiced this a lot... and it pays off... who would have guessed it! I don't think I'm ready to move up. I think this might have been in the easy end of the advanced class. In other weeks I've had no chance...
  6. Can't seem to get the intermediate quite right, but it goes on and on... like forever. I don't really care much for this song anymore. I got this accuracy, and I think it's okay: The advanced song is on the other hand much more fun (in my opinion). And most of it is in reach... I think.
  7. A new week has begun. Beginners went okay... after two days: I'm also getting closer to understand the intermediate song. But I'm not sure how this score should count, but in a few days I'm going to play it with Score Attack anyways: The advanced song is also quite interesting. I think I can learn it as well.
  8. Sometimes I just think that is a theoretical answer, when drums, guitars and everything are just loud.
  9. I've had some playthroughs, and the accuracy has gone a little up. I think my final score for this weeks intermediate song is this: I've also marginally improved my funky style:
  10. You are also right, but I'm here to be a better bass player, not a better computer player. I'm okay at playing computer (and I also practice that often). But you're right: I'm not going to win the competition with that attitude. Anyway... I also think the song is rather tedious (at least this bass part)... so this week I'm probably not going to win.
  11. When I play in an orchestra (classical), we have a saying: Nothing is so difficult, that it can't be faked.
  12. But I quess, that you're supposed to listen while playing. And maybe this is the point where the notes (dots) catch up with the song. Before this point a lot of the notes are wrong (or rather greatly misplaced) and does not follow the sound (changes in chords and so on). But now I just... like whatever. PS: The right note played the wrong time, is still a wrong note.
  13. Another day, and yet more progresses, but I don't think I can do much more than this. Beginners song is now 100%, but it's a bit annoying, that the difficult part is in the end. So you play for a long while, and then makes the mistakes and have to start over. And it is a bit tedious song. So I'm not going to play it more (maybe as warm up). But I've had no problems with recognition. For my own level... it's even more tedious! It's the same over and over. And then it goes of the sync... in the middle it does not follow the music at all. That is very annoying! Taking the off-sync in consideration, I don't think I can do it any better. But also good for the warm-up. The next level is beyond my level, and very funky. Fun and very new to me, but also very difficult. Especially the slap bass thingys...
  14. Another days practicing. I still keep on playing one wrong note in the beginner song. So no improvement there yet. I also find the Munich song very disturbing. It's a nice song, but also a lot of the same over and over... it's okay. but at some point in the middle I think the dots (or whatever we call those flying boxes) are of the beat. What I hear and see does not fit together. If I play in riff repeat it look like it accepts to be played by the ear. I'm not sure Score Attack -thingy quite agrees. And then there is of course the photo I sheared with two notes... on the same string at the same time. But I managed this score for to day:
  15. A new week has begun! Beginners song is a bit trivial I think... until the end. But after a bit of practice I managed with only one wrong note (and not in the end ) At my "own" level, it is a rather tough song... with some strange jumps on the fret board. From the practice run: The playthrough afterwards was not better, but I was getting tired. But! What am I supposed to do here: ? I'm quite a long way from the advanced: (and I'm not getting far with the next level...).
  16. For an hour ago I posted yesterday results, but today has been very good for me. And I must say, that this week is indeed a wonderfull collection of very different song, yet all very good in their own way. I especially like Iron Maiden and Wing, because they are so varying through the songs! The only annoying part is the song from my actual group, and that's only because I can't improve my accuracy. The song itself is great! But at least my high score has improved, and I've had a bit more success with the difficult parts (the slides). On the other hand, I've finally caught up with the running band. And thanks for the heads up of the missing notes (yellow 3 and 5). So now I've looked more into the advanced class. They are not that easy, but that's why they are advanced. Though Riverman is no way as difficult as Iron Maidens song! It's a lot of the same over and over and with out to much practicing I managed the 96% accuracy. While Iron Maiden has had a lot of my practice time. I really like Iron Maiden, so that motivates me, but even after a lot of practice I only get 94,2% (and some sore fingers). But all this wonderfull music has made me happy! Thank you for this weeks songs, @jellisjenius!
  17. I must say, that the intermediate er rather difficult, but on the other hand, that is why I'm here... to learn at this level. I had a small step forward with the running band (is that like running sushi?).
  18. I'm not that much in to everything here (yet), but I've noticed, that if you look at the "leaderboard" (there's a link in the first post of every weeks championship), then there's sheet for every week (all 388), and the chosen songs are noted as well.
  19. I've got the beginners song to (some kind of) perfection... But had no progress with the first intermediate. It's also a bit difficult in a few places. Got some progress at the other intermediate though. It's also rather difficult, mostly because it's such a long song and very variating(?), but it's a great song.
  20. I will support the notion of David Bowie beeing a hard beginners choice. I'm almost there... but no cigar. I also think I would have chosen another fingering, but it's good for practice. The two intermediate is also quite difficult, but in the different ways.
  21. When you have played the game and made som screen shots. Click on the picture (from the library), and here click share. You can then choose public, friends or private. I usually share it with friends, but nobody looks at it anyway. Then you can find it in steam by clicking your name and choose activity. This part i described last time (I think).
  22. Looking at the leaderboard, I can see that ShankD played a streak of 551 notes (with Goo Goo Dolls). The rest of us with 100% only got 547 notes in our streak. The score is much higher than mine anyway, but it seems we've played some different versions. I've found the picture. It looks legit...
  23. I've given up on that stupid Poisonous Arrow... "Who broke my heart?"... "Judith, Judith". Who the hell is Judith?
  24. Hi Banjo If you want to show the score directly with a picture (like this) (THIS IS NOT MY SCORE!!!!): You can click on the picture on imgur (make it big), and then right click on the (big) picture, and choose "copy image location". And then just paste it in here... This forum will then recognize it as a picture and put it in (or you can click "Other Media" below and choose insert image from URL). If you use Steam you can make screenshots there, share them (private?) and then find them under your profile under activity. Click the uploaded picture, click it again, and there is an URL at the top (then double click, and copy). Thats how I do it. I hope it can work for you... PS: The links you have given also count fine in the competetion. PPS: Nice score btw.
  25. Hmm... I thought I had been here and posting some scores, but it seems not. Oh well.. As long as my final scores get up here. The first song, beginners, were quite nice. I got it quite fast... so all my playing has payed of. Then came the intermediate. They were also quite fun and different from each other. A good level for me. Today I finally nailed them. For some time I was around 99,26% (or something), but today... yeah. Then I was thinking about the next level. And I must admit. I'm very far away from playing in the advanced level... I even think it might be rated a bit to low. Could be just another style than I usually play. I can play it nicely in 80% tempo. The score here is more luck than talent, and I think it accepts to many wild swings at the bass. I don't think I can do it much better.
