  1. Nice active bassline - maybe a bit of a stretch for beginner level: @SlickWilly does a great job charting bass and I enjoy playing Marillion stuff: This is a great example of a challenging song that's still really fun to play. Looking forward to listening to the whole new album:
  2. Good week - please require the bass only (SlickWilly) version of Kayleigh though as the other one has some missing notes and will be easier.
  3. Got in a couple plays: Not as challenging as I remember...guess I've improved a fair bit:
  4. Good idea to bring some on-disc songs...I feel like I hardly play on disc and ODLC any more with so much CDLC available.
  5. Two that were missing: Going to get in at least one more play of Hard Skool
  6. From testing: A good song for beginners to practice slides and hammer-ons as you get a nice slow slide to hammer on that sounds good when you play it and repeats: Not a huge fan of this one as Muse basslines/charts go...playing a repeated octave as open low D to open high D is meh and I kinda doubt Chris Wolstenholme plays it that way. This has always been one of my favorites from Jimi: I don't know how much I'd listen to this but playing it is a lot of fun: I think PPC are my favorites right now in the category of "a bit above my level but still enjoyable to play/learn": Will have to play Summer Breeze and Parents now and screenshot my scores...
  7. Thanks for the feedback - I made those recommended changes to the OP. @Rodman @kayteck The script that pulls winners from the leaderboard sheet seems to have some issues...some of the winners were correct but others were not.
  8. Notes: It's really becoming difficult to find beginner-level guitar CDLC so I'd really appreciate participants adding recommendations to the Song Selection List! Sorry if Black Star is a bit difficult for beginner level I tried to test Summer Breeze on lead and rhythm but since I'm a bass only player I'm not the best at rating difficulty on those. Please provide feedback if warranted. Parents is not really GoB level of difficulty but I rated it a 7.5 and it's over 10 minutes long so IMO a good candidate for a multi-week GoB type thing Enjoy and good luck everyone!
  9. New week has been posted - thanks to @kayteck and @Rodman for the new scripts that make it easier! Score cutoff is now but I will update the winners later.

  11. I'll be posting the new week shortly without winners...I'll give everyone 30 minutes from now to get their scores in and will update the winners later today. Finally managed to crack 99% on Resistance:
  12. I keep getting tripped up at the section with the hammer on/ pull offs: And since the Soen track this week is guitar only I decided to play a few with bass just for fun...Antagonist is a bit weird to play but Lumerian is enjoyable:
  13. So I tested both versions of When It Rains on bass. They are very similar but I think the older version (SmellsLikeMonkey) is better due to superior note recognition and some small nuances (mostly staccato notes that are not present in the newer one). I think it's fine to give the option for either one as you have done in the OP. Also Black Summer rocks as expected from Flea/Chili Peppers: Everything else I'll get to later...
  14. Sounds good, I'll try both and let you know what I think.
  15. Great week @ Mikson ! I've been looking forward to trying the new RHCP track. Re: When It Rains, are we using the older version? There is a newer one by TranceXZero but I don't know which is preferable.
  16. Worked really hard to improve this one...so close to 100%
  17. Thanks @ Rodman ...was going to do it this morning, sorry for the delay. All scores have now been entered up to this point.
  18. Classic Doves track...good beginner bass part: Kinda weird as per the usual from The Darkness: Not the best Serj/SOAD track in terms of bass but definitely a powerful song especially in the current moment: Steely Dan have a long history of fantastic grooves: Wish I'd had a chance to test this before I selected it - definitely not a 7 and it has the worst custom bass tone I've ever heard. But since it's a bonus track, no big deal: Unlike Nacho I really enjoy playing jazz stuff, this to me is the perfect balance of a nice manageable groove plus a challenging breakdown: I'll get to Kid Charlemagne later...
  19. Attn @ Bottledpat12 @ Nacholede @ shaggy_malagy I updated the OP with a different Steely Dan song (Kid Charlemagne) for MC Lead - thanks @ nlbsmglsk for the tip I also added Kid Charlemagne as God of Bass so we can play the bass part without disrupting the other selections. It may not be quite GoB level but I think that's okay.
  20. I have updated the OP with corrected winners for Int. Rhythm and God of Rhythm - sorry about that! Thanks @ Rodman for the assist on Steely Dan. I will set up the leaderboard sheet sometime today.
