  1. Gorgeous song, especially the outro: Pretty funny that the first DEP track to make a Championship appearance is so (relatively) easy: Super underappreciated (by the public) band that was very influential. Love me some Doug Pinnock: This is really a cool unique song and bassline. I honestly don't remember hearing this when Bush was big in the mid-90s but it's more interesting than "Everything Zen" and the like: No strong opinion on this one. Reasonably challenging but not HARD per se, a lot of the difficulty comes from the length:
  2. New week is up - I'll post winners for week 466 later:
  3. The theme for this week is first timers, ie, bands that have never been represented in the Championship.

  5. Okay new week going up momentarily - a bit longer delay than anticipated.
  6. Heads up all - I will post the new week until around 5pm EST, so you have about 7 hours left to post scores. Good luck!
  7. I'm going to agree with the consensus that octaves are more like bass playing 201, and moving octaves in the middle of an otherwise low-key song are a bit tricky at first. So this is a 5.5 IMO: And to me a Cliff Burton Kill 'em All bassline as a 6 is too low...this is at least a 7 and is IMO harder than Wild World. Note density makes it a bit easier to get a higher score: Did I rate this a 7? Feels more like a 6.5. I just really enjoy these types of laid-back songs with intricate basslines:
  8. One of the better and more enjoyable Yellowcard songs IMO: I do appreciate PJ Harvey but this song and chart are just kinda awkward. I don't really care to put in the time to improve my score sadly: And THIS is a masterpiece...would be happy to have Opeth in the Championship every week:
  9. Had a magical run for Ya Love (I think 7.5 is accurate as this is more manageable than Circumstances once you get the patterns down): And not my favorite Rush song to play or listen to:
  10. First tries for the week...this is definitely one of the more tame John Deacon basslines: Like many from KGLW, this bassline really pushes/stretches me beyond my current level while still being fun to play:
  11. Not sure I can do much better than this...that ending is tough:
  12. This is part of what makes Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead guitarist but much more than that) so unique and inimitable. He is basically the king of weird but beautiful compositions and sound combinations. He's prolific at composing, playing numerous instruments, writing music software, etc. His work frankly amazes me but much of it is not necessarily "fun" to play. Radiohead's bass arrangements are similarly odd and sometimes not the most natural play but always interesting. I do really enjoy the bass part for Let Down.
  13. @ Rodman @ kayteck @ nlbsmglsk FYI I was unable to create a new leaderboard tab from the script in the CSL "NewWeek" sheet. It keeps giving me an error on the week number for God of Guitar. I've tried changing to various numbers (1 of 2, 1 of 3, 1 of 4, 3 of 3, 3 of 4 etc) and I've finally given up. I'd appreciate some assistance with that.
  14. Okay, sorry about that. I did a "playthrough" and wasn't sure so I kept it as a 5.5. Based on your feedback, I will move Mr. Prism to Lead Int and remove the Graveyard track entirely as we don't actually need it for this week (all three would be bonus). We can reuse it another time with my link.
  15. Well that sucks, but fortunately I already had a copy and it's worth playing...so I've updated the link to point to my Google Drive.
  16. As usual for me, I've included a diverse range of styles here. Pop, arena rock, alternative, blues rock, jazz, prog, metal. I noted in the OP but please use the bass only file for GoB on the Dream Theater track. Let me know if you have feedback on difficulty ratings etc. Enjoy!

  18. New week will be up in about an hour, so consider this the one-hour warning to get your scores in.
  19. Love some Uncle Acid - closer to adv than int IMO but definitely lower difficulty compared to the Revocation song: This band seems to have a thing for hard/awkward intros. Some nice melodic riffs through the song though:
  20. @ Rodman @ nlbsmglsk What is the cutoff time today?
