  1. If the images are in your DropBox account, move them to your public folder and they should show up here. That's what I have to do to get any inline images to work on this site.
  2. I don't want to be accused of being rude again, but you shouldn't be so dismissive of other people. Although it may seem more difficult to you, to me it's as simple as writing a script to automate the process. If all the data is stored in a MySQL db, whether it's done on the front-end or the back-end, it's all done through MySQL anyway. If that's not the way you want to do it, then just say it's not the way you want to do it. There's nothing wrong with that. But don't imply that a regular user like me couldn't possibly know what I'm talking about. You have no way of knowing how much experience I have.
  3. I wasn't being rude. If Firekorn can be blunt, so can I. That's all I have to say about that.
  4. It's a database update (what I'm talking about), so it has nothing to do with changing or adjusting your files. And as I said, they're doing it anyway, so it's already their "job". So it's faster to do it on the back-end. Regardless, I wasn't asking the community. The question was directed to a specific person, and it's already been answered privately by that person. So there's no need to try and start an argument about it. This thread should be locked.
  5. Why weren't they just edited from the back-end? Then there would be no need to have people do it themselves. while it would be easy .. trivial even to edit the database, the data in the database should accurately match what the file has. it would be a disservice to change the entry in the sql, and NOT change the version in the cdlc. and only the creator of the cdlc should do that. The devs are going to do it themselves for any customs not updated by x date anyway, so what's the difference?
  6. I understand. I feel for you, I've been there.
  7. They're working on some problems. Not sure why they're doing it on the live site though. Should be doing it in a virtual environment.
  8. Why weren't they just edited from the back-end? Then there would be no need to have people do it themselves.
  9. The lack of album art suggests to me that you have a problematic cDLC in your folder. You don't have to actually play them for an individual custom to cause problems for others. It can be a long process, depending on the number of customs you have, but you'll need to remove them all (or any you've added since problems have started) and add them back one at a time until you find the one(s) causing the problem.
  10. Yeah, I think I know the user you're referring to. It is very annoying. 50 songs in one day with "updated" info, no updates. However, if changing the information in the post results in it showing up as a new submission, that's the fault of the programming for the forum, not the users making the changes. If it's a loophole they can exploit, the loophole needs to be closed. Maybe there's a way to correct that. I would hope so anyway.
  11. Yes, completely logged out. Had to re-enter my username and password. Seems to much better this morning, thank you!
  12. I'll add those first two. The latter has its extension changed. OF COURSE it's not going to show up. I know the reason why it doesn't show up. But just because it's obvious to you and me, doesn't make it obvious for everybody. I've had to help a few people who have had that be the problem they were experiencing. Anyway, it's nice that you're posting these tutorials. Now if we could only find a way to make them all required reading :)
  13. Cool. I seem to be getting logged off every 5 minutes or so, sometimes just randomly.
  14. As the title says, what's up with the constant connection problems? Is there not enough bandwidth to support the number of users connecting at once? For those that will suggest it, it's not my internet connection. I have unlimited bandwidth and the highest level of service offered by my ISP. I get anywhere from 95-120mb/s download speeds, and 15-20mb/s upload. They also have a 99.98% up time. Anyway, just wondering what's up. It gets a little annoying to have to constantly refresh pages to get a connection, especially when it happens 2-3 times a day. Sometimes I get logged out as well.
  15. Nice tutorial, but an incorrect AppID isn't the only cause of customs not showing up in Rocksmith. Multiple versions of the same custom can cause them not to show up. Conflicting song titles/artists can cause them not to show up. Having a Mac qualifier on the end of the file name "songX_m.psarc(2)" for example, will cause them to not show up.
  16. Do you have the .dll file installed in the correct place (PC only)? Or, for Mac, do you have RSInjector? There's a tutorial in the Help section that you should read, if you haven't already.
  17. I haven't heard of anybody getting banned yet. Been using customs since RS2014 came out.
  18. I understand your point, but unfortunately that's the price of getting something for free. As long as charters are working towards making their customs better, I welcome the updates. There are too many sub-par customs that have been created and left to die because the charters have either moved on to other tracks, or don't know how to fix them. That's why constructive feedback is so important. Lots of users just leave a "thanks", or "great song choice!" and give positive feedback because they simply like the song or artist, or are too afraid to give negative feedback (for whatever reason). If we all help as best we can to give detailed feedback about how to fix/improve customs, things will get better faster.
  19. I do agree with that point. I'm getting tired of seeing v1 releases of customs with notes like "it's a work in progress" or "needs some work, updates will be released soon". Some "charters" (no offence to Magna Charters) care more about releasing customs in quantity, not quality.
  20. You're upset about charter's updating their songs to improve them because you can't delete the old versions after downloading the new ones? I personally welcome all updates, and charters can do as many as it takes to get them perfect. It only takes a few seconds to delete a file after an update is released.
  21. The problem is, the tags on MusicBrainz aren't accurate either. Many artists have incorrect or misleading tags assigned, and even more songs have no tags assigned at all.
  22. All you have to do is type in "multitracks" into the search field and voila, you have a list of all the multitrack customs.
  23. I think that's the best way to do it anyway. I know it's time consuming, but when you find the one(s) that is bad, you can alert the charter and they can fix it for everyone. That way nobody else loses their save. Also, it's a good practice to read all of the comments for each custom before you download and try them. That way you can help yourself avoid problems in the future.
  24. To save me from repeating myself so often, I would love to see a separate, fully detailed Mac tut on how to use/convert cDLC's. Something separate from the main "how to" tutorial already posted, and one that has more details than just "download RSInjector". I would gladly write it as well.
