@ Rodman  As much as I'd love to jump straight from Intermediate to Masterclass I don't think I'm quite MC level yet, throw in some sweeping and I'm done for! If it's alright with yourself could I try my hand at Advanced? Happy to stay at Intermediate otherwise, I'm just here for good vibes and to find new music more than anything else

Advanced it is! (Lead and Rhythm)

    Great we meet there now.

    Rock!

  2. Yay .... next week already. Struggled with suddenly the Placebo song disapeared from the db, but still had the link. And the MC song gave me trouble ... after a few unusable selections Seventh wonder will serve you well.

Ratings might be a tad to tune, going to test what has not soon and also awaiting your feedback of course!!!

And we got a whole Album again for the next 4 weeks to pirate through the Gog ofs... yay.

Cover challenge -- hopefully @ shaggy_malagy  is gonna name the tune to play soon!!!!

    Rock, Rod.

    SIDE CHALLENGE - Let´s COVER some [24]

Rules? No rules! We pick a song and everybody is invited to share his version. Songs shall be called every week, if you don´t manage to nail your version within the week - entrances are ALWAYS welcome. No winners, no losers, just fun and personal progress, a bit bringing in the harvest of the hard work we all do here every week by converting to own produced music, and (for me very important) learning (easy versions) of songs to be able to play them anytime when a guitar is in the room - and that shall be a part of thinking on the next song selection maybe.

So - as we had Beatles - And i Love Her last week  JUST GREAT, yay!!!! Everyone who has not finished his cover - just post whenever ready in the running week (yes, this one) so we all will recognise it.

This week THE HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN

Alright then here it is with some vocals! let's call it a rough draft lol not super happy with it but can't make it much better right now...let's just say I ain't quitting my day job

I did the last verse in English but most of it is lyrics from the cover I grew up with by Jose Alberto. I didn't know it was originally a Beatles song for a long time, I don't really listen to them like that either but it's like eating vegetables, probably should cause it's good for ya

I do wish I did a better job modulating the arpeggios and of course the timing but that's a wrap, thanks for the feedback 🙂

Nicely done - now it´s complete!!!!
Can´t wait for your next ones!

@ shaggy_malagy  - youu know what: Name one for next week please - choose one you did and have a video on!

    Great rocking weeknd, everyone! Rod.

Thanks! Definitely a good time putting my own feel on the track but there was some pain... that was from trying to record some vocals lol my performance in the Rock Band games and boozy karaoke didn't prepare me for this. It's overwhelming how many things go into making music but it's so much fun, and it doesn't have to be all that good as long as you feel it and I love that 🙂 of course I would love to be as good as you someday so I appreciate the push to try new things

Hah! Yeah - a lot lot of things or sometimes just one strumming track....
For me it´s so cool to follow the masters and uncover how songs have been structured and arranged while covering them.
For the vocals - Humiliating, sad, hopeless, annoying, bitter - that are my feelings about my vocal performances. Still not giving up on those cause it makes a song always more enjoyable (for me) when someone is singing and i remember back then 3-4 years ... it was getting better, never good, no way, maybe a step under okish. Well as i try to learn easy versions of songs to play from my head for that it´s even a bit mandatory to sing along.
Really good arrangement you did! Full cover. Comeon - give is some vocals also next time.

    Ok here is my cover

I had to learn how to do just about everything for the first time so I am proud of it even if it's a little spaghetti 🙂 recorded all the parts myself

    Hell yeah!!!!!! Well played!!!!
What a nice interpretation. The arpeggios give an almost psychodelic feel, the well adjusted solo tone and the relaxed riff.

    Three thumbs up, you rock!

Was it more fun or pain?

  8. However here is mine for the running cover challenge

Man - that was a blast. Cool song, lazily sung by the guys back then i must say.....
I followed the original, though had to pepper it a bit.

Created a BG track with bongos and that woodstickthings... claves, yes.
The rest is me - bass, guitars and... yeah of course..... vocalS

    Enjoy or hate me

funnily enough i couldn't participate because i was actually in Africa, and it rained 😂
    morocco.jpg

and if i'd seen you were in London i'd have pointed you towards the best music spots/joined you for a beer as I was back for the first time in months myself at the same time

still can't participate for the forseeable future as i'm now in Majorca, without my van/guitar this time, attempting to emigrate
VERY much missing my guitar right now, but loving the new theory upgrades and motivation to perform, starting to remind me of the old guitar magazines i used to buy

fortunately i have a bank of pre-recorded videos i made while travelling in above-mentioned van for the past year...
sent you one to get the ball rolling/get out of my personal comfort zone
*edit - email address not found?

(if it's against the rules ((no rules?!)) i'll remove this offer... but im available for private discord lessons/tab transciptions, just message me for info)

    ✌️😎🤟

Oh fxxx.. that would have been something, I´d have loved a beer with you there... ah maybe next time!

So where is that video of yours 😉

    ?

Can't get soundcloud to work to post my progress on the cover, probably for the best y'all I tried lol

@ drand  there are a zillion ways to share your work, won´t let you get away like that 😉

    2 working ones are

Take a picture of your choice and create a vid with your mp3 and upload to youtube (my way)

Just upload the damn mp3 to any cloud - your google drive, dropbox, mediafire, whatever and simply share the link

In case you should still fail - send me the damn file to rodman,at.the.championship.com and i´ll be happy to present you the link to post (be my guest every week)

    Rod.

  11.

    @cacahuate51- thx.

Yeah, i'll be improving the metronome hearability at least in the coming files, it's a huge difference if you have the audioclip played back alone or in the background of your playing.

For the 2 speed building files with increasing bpm i have planned updates with naming the bpm on changes and updated audio. Gimme a few days, i'm absolutely happy i managed to chart and put up that all last weekend... up next is some improved scores and a beatles cover, hell yeah.

But right now getting ready for a few hours of multiplayer 🪨
