I don't have any tricks, but I would like to offer you encouragement. Don't give up, play through the plateau! Remember, you play for enjoyment, so don't forget to enjoy playing! -

Getting a little better at Louie Louie. I chalk this improvement up to slowing the solo down like MentalSharps did and working through it. -
Rocksmith 2014 Championship Week 250

@@MentalSharps, I got thinking about this last night and slowed the solo down to 80% to listen to myself on the solo. First, your playthough sounds pretty good! Mine was pretty ugly sounding, and it made me appreciate how good yours sounded. Second, how did you record yourself isolated? I've been toying with that idea, I know the sound from the game masks a lot of junk in my playing, so much like you I'm ready to start going for musicality rather than a high score in the game. -

The second day is always tough, I can't touch my first days scores usually. I did do a bit better at rhythm on Louie Louie however. -

Last one, same score but better streak on lead: And I tried to get on the master mode bandwagon, but still fell short. -

I was going to say that I was throwing down the gauntlet and the challenge was on, but then @@MentalSharps drops not only a better score, but a master mode score as well! Nicely done! -

@Rodman I don't think this score made it to the spreadsheet. Can you fix it? Thanks! -

Haven't had much time this week but I've improved on lead a bit. I can finally get that Ab chord reliably. Probably the last chance I'll get this week. -

Some improvement on Lead...that A flat chord keeps getting me. I feel like the rhythm part is picking up my chords better. And you can't spell Dad without ADD, so a run on bass. -

Totally agree, multiplayer is fun! I played with my kids for a year and they had a little First Act guitar, but it was too small for anyone else to play. I recently inherited my dad's guitar collection, and now we play with those. With a stable of guitars I'm now spreading the love and getting my nephew and his mom playing Rocksmith as well. It's a cool way for the kids to connect with a missed grandfather. Just wish he were still here to see it. -

I'm seeing this problem a bit too, particularly on lead. It is better if I don't do the palm mutes. I expected it on my hollow body guitar, but I still had the issue on my strat. Let me know if you figure out any fixes. -

Yep, that is it. Plug in two cables and go to multiplayer. It works well when one plays the bass and the other a lead or rhythm part. When you play rhythm and lead it can get a bit hard to hear who is playing what. My daughter likes when we both play rhythm because she can play her part at her DD level, but then see what it looks like leveled up and try that for the parts that are too easy for her. Lots of fun! -

Enjoyable song! First shot on lead. Of course my son makes it look easy on bass... Better on rhythm... -
Almost forgot, I ran through Egg on Bass for fun. It felt like I was playing on cables after being used to a regular guitar!

It definitely isn't a beginner level song. I know the organizers of this Championship have more experience and wisdom on the difficulty ratings than I do. I am interested to understand what goes into a song rating and see if a rating system can be codified. Something to serve as guidelines to understand what skills are neccessary at a given level, and a way to see what techniques one should be working on to progress. So, an open question to everyone, what are the techniques that you would expect each level to be proficiant at? What puts a song at a certain level for you? Does anyone have formal training that can speak to what was taught when?

Another few tries with Egg, I'm happy with the improvement. Coheed and Cambria mock me still....still 84% with a shorter streak.

Up to 88% on Egg this morning! Sleeping on it seems to help me a ton. And made it through Mother May I finally.
