  1. Thanks for all the incentives, many people have already told me the same. :) Since day 1 I play emulated with pick or fingers, according to what the arrangement says (there's some arrangements that I can play better with fingers and others with a pick). I've only played in a real bass once and only for a few minutes and the feeling was amazing. The only difficulty I found was the G string being too far away lol... but after a couple of minutes the fingers were starting to get used to the new gap between strings/frets and also the thickness. You guys don't need to say anything else to convince me, believe me when I say I want a bass real bad, because I want to see if I can get the same scores I get playing emulated on a real bass... not to mention the fact that I love the sound of a real bass (@ you are absolutely correct, the sound of emulated is not the same at all and there's always lag, no matter how low the latency of the game is). Since you guys have been so friendly and welcoming me back so well, I might just explain the real reason why I still don't have a bass. Joey knows me very well, we've been friends for quite some time now and I've had several problems in my RL, which Joey has been a great friend that I can always count with to talk, so all that I'm about to say he already knows. I don't like much to talk about myself, so I'll just explain a long story in a few sentences. I'm a single father, my son is 7 years old and he's a great kid (I know all parents say this, but my son is a really nice kid, given that I'm not with his mother since he was 7 months old and for the last 2 years, she doesn't care about him at all). Until last year, my life financially was pretty stable, but in the beginning of this year I started to loose clients and after a couple of months I was without work (I was self-employed, so I don't even have an unemployment allowance). Well, that's the situation I've been in the last 7 months and you guys can imagine the financial difficulties I have, since I lost all sort of income I had. My son is always in 1st place above all else, so I can only spend money in my passion for music, when he has everything he needs, which hasn't been easy... if I didn't have my parents help, things could have been really bad, I'm very fortunate to have them. I don't want to seem dramatic or depressive, that's not how I am, I'm just sharing this with you cause I'm very straight forward and honest, so you guys can know me a little better. That being said, I've got some possibilities on the way and I just need 1 of them to come through, so in a few months I might be able to start getting my life back to normal. For those who know me for some time, this was one of the main reasons why I had to "step down" from the CS, I just had to sort my personal life 1st. P.S.: For those who don't know me, very long posts are like a "trademark" I have, when I start typing, I just don't realize how much I wrote until I finish and hit the "Post" button.... I hope you guys don't mind. Btw, it's very good to be back and read all your nice posts, since I've been gone for more than 6 months. Thanks
  2. Thanks for the replies guys. I have been warned before and if it wasn't for the "need" that I have of a new guitar, I would have bought a bass a long time ago. My guitar is an old and cheap Ibanez Gio and after 2 and half years of playing, I really feel that I need a guitar with a floyd rose bridge, cause there's many songs where my hand tries to reach for the whammy bar but.... there's no bar  Also my Gio has intonation problems, which are difficult to solve, cause I have this guitar for 4 or 5 years, but I only started to play in June 2012, and by that time I had lent the guitar to a "friend" for a few months and he damaged the bridge saddles, specially the high e, that's the string that I have more intonation issues with. He was a guitar player, so I trusted him, but I won't make the same mistake again :P. I've taken the guitar to a shop and they were able to fix the action (which was VERY high, almost impossible to play sometimes) and get the intonation the best it was possible without replacing the entire bridge, which is not worthy, since we're talking about a guitar that new would cost around 120€=150$, in it's current state, it's value must be around 70€ or less. If my expectations (another word for money lol) don't fail, I should be getting the new guitar in the very near future, hopefully in a few weeks and maybe, just maybe, then santa will bring me a new bass guitar for xmas, we'll see :D
  3. I got a question about the bass arrangements. I don't have a bass, so I play emulated, which is kind of cheating because I know it's much easier to play the bass arrangements with a guitar. Since the bass expansion was released for RS1, I always played like this, since I only have 1 guitar (I don't even have an amp...), so I'm so used to play the bass arrangements all the time along with the rhythm and lead. So, if you guys don't want to post my bass scores, I totally understand, there's no problem about it. I've made a run at each song... the MC song is so cool to play, I'm really enjoying that song :) Bass BG: http://s6.postimg.org/v0ynpbaoh/RS2014_CF_Championship_Week_51_Bass_BG_1_99.jpg Bass IM: http://s6.postimg.org/a5cde2ehd/RS2014_CF_Championship_Week_51_Bass_IM_1_99.jpg Bass ADV: http://s6.postimg.org/5xhl5bd1t/RS2014_CF_Championship_Week_51_Bass_AD_1_98.jpg Bass MC: http://s6.postimg.org/rxxxlxvpt/RS2014_CF_Championship_Week_51_Bass_MC_1_91.jpg

  5. Thanks for the warm welcome everybody. :D It's very nice to read your post @@Mortalo, I'm glad that you liked what we did back then and congrats again to all Organizers. The rules are simple like you said, I just put myself in the Organizers "shoes" when I was reading them and I thought "Wow, that's an impressive job, but a lot of work too".... old habits die hard, right? :P I'll be posting more scores later, the songs are very cool, I like particularly the MC song, it's crazy in a good way and very fun to play.
  6. Hello everyone. I assume most of you don't know me, but for those who do, I finally have some more time in RL and can start playing in the CS again. :) For those who don't know who I am, a long time ago I was the championship "manager" back in Smithy Anvil. When the site went "down" and CustomsForge "replaced" Smithy's, at first I was invited to organize this CS, which I accepted, but after a few weeks, due to RL problems, I had to step down and let others "in charge" and what an amazing job you have done, congratulations. :D I spent yesterday trying to keep up with the changes on the CS, my god, you guys have done a lot of work and this is an amazing championship format.... 4 classes, rating points, different classes on the arrangements of the same song according to the difficulty, really impressive. I don't know where I should "start" when it comes to what classes to play, so if you guys don't mind, I'll just play all arrangements from the 4 songs and you'll let me know where I "fit" in.... for those who know me, I suck playing chords and I manage ok with single note arrangements, depending on the speed of the song. I always play the 1st runs in LAS and after that I play always in SA. 1st runs I did on the lead arrangements... Lead IM: http://s6.postimg.org/tcuwwx7f5/RS2014_CF_Championship_Week_51_Lead_IM_1_97.jpg Lead ADV: http://s6.postimg.org/lle6yd39t/RS2014_CF_Championship_Week_51_Lead_AD_1_64.jpg Lead MC: http://s6.postimg.org/o44hcsedt/RS2014_CF_Championship_Week_51_Lead_MC_1_79.jpg I still need to play the Interpol song, no time yesterday, probably I will post that score later today. If I didn't understand something about the rules and I'm posting "wrong", please let me know. I just ask everyone a little patience while I get used to all the new changes and figure out what songs/arrangements I should play and post. Thanks.
  7. @@Alex360, please don't apologize, you guys do so much for the community, we all have to thank you guys for all your efforts. I still remember the early days, when there were so many issues to solve and you guys were always ready to help/fix/add whatever was/is needed. I just tested 1d45d6373add and it's working like a charm. :D About the updater, I'm 100% sure it's something wrong with my system. Although I had to re-install everything only a few weeks ago, I have the idea that there was something wrong with the .NET installation and I'm pretty sure my problem with the update started to happen at the same time, so it can't be a coincidence. If and when I found what is causing that error window, I'll let you guys know, just in case someone in the future encounters the same issue, you will know what's the cause of it. Again, I know I repeat this a lot of times, but it's in my "nature".... Thanks a lot :)
  8. Hi Alex360, I just downloaded the last build and I still get the same error. I compared the log files and the information is exactly the same on both. I deleted all files from the build I had before and extracted the new files from build e03aabfbdc38. The error is the same. Is it something I'm doing wrong? Sorry for being such a pain in the ass... I feel like I'm complaining a lot, if that's the case, I apologize. I'm very used to work with the unpacked files without structure, that's why I'm boring you with this. Once again, thanks for looking into this.
  9. Thanks for clearing that up Alex360, I really appreciate it :)
  10. @@Alex360, thanks for your help, but I'm 99.(9)% sure the problem is with my system. As I mentioned in my previous post, today I installed .NET framework 4.5.2, the installation file says "x86_x64", so it should work, but for some reason I cannot find an explanation for, it doesn't work, I get always the same error window. In the meantime, today I downloaded the latest build (04f3aafac1c8) and when I try to import a custom, I get a window saying "Thread Exception catched!". In the bottom of the window it says to provide the log file, this is the link to the file. What I find very strange is that I only get the error when I have the "Import Structured Packages" unselected. If I check that option and import the same or another .psarc file, the toolkit imports the file with no errors. I've always imported customs in the toolkit with the structured packages not selected, so I wonder if this error has to do with my system too, although I deleted the new build and extracted the zip file of the build I've been using (99447fd6be9e) and with that build the import package function works both with "Import Structured Packages" selected or unselected. So, from what I could gather, the error I get when importing a package without structure (not sure if this is the proper way to say it, but I think you understand what I'm trying to explain) only happens with the last 4 builds (b4847dcd8e40, 563a3b602a2b, 3fb44538c821 and 04f3aafac1c8). I've noticed that this only started to happen after the revision saying "Small code review". Before that, I've tried with 4 older builds and importing a package without structure works fine with all. I don't know if this matters or not, but when I get the error with the last 4 builds, despite the fact that I get the thread exception caught, the folder I choose to unpack the custom contains the extracted package, but all the information that should be in the toolkit window (name of the song, arrangements, tones, etc) doesn't show. Sorry for giving this trouble, I've been using the toolkit for many months without any errors, I just want to be sure that the update problem and now this import package problem are related with my system and not the toolkit. As always, thanks for all your time and patience.
  11. Hello Fabianosan, I'm fine and you? Thanks for the explanation. I don't know why the installation file doesn't install the x32 and the x64 versions. I've always used Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and it always worked. Maybe Microsoft changed something in the installation, because the files I have are "dotNetFx45_Full_x86_x64.exe", "NDP451-KB2858728-x86-x64-AllOS-ENU.exe" and I got this one today "NDP452-KB2901907-x86-x64-AllOS-ENU.exe". Although all files say "x86_x64", when I run the .exe file I can't choose just the 32 or 64 bit version, I assumed that the files installed both versions, but they only install the 64 bit version and don't allow me to install the 32 bit. I've "googled" for installation files of .NET x32 only, but every one I found was for both. On Microsoft the website, the only installation files I could find were the ones I mention above, so I don't think I'll be able to install a 32bit version of .NET framework on this OS. If by any chance one of you has the 32bit installation file only, could you provide me the file? The only other option I can think of is installing Win7 x32, but I don't have it. It's not a big deal, I can see in the toolkit when new builds are released and I just have to go to the website and get the latest. Thanks for your help as always guys. :)
  12. Ok, so after removing .NET 4.5.1, I tried with .NET 4.0, .NET 4.5 and then .NET 4.5.1 again. The result was always the same, I keep getting the same error window, but now I know the problem is not with the toolkit, the problem is with my system. Thanks for the help Alex360.
  13. @Alex360: I have Win7 Ultimate 64bit, and the Microsoft .NET version I have installed is 4.5.1. My C: HDD fried 2 weeks ago and I had to re-install everything after replacing the HDD... do you think there's something missing?... The .NET framework was installed once the PC booted the 1st time after the installation through windows update. I have several .exe files of .NET framework, I'm gonna run Microsoft .NET framework repair tool and I'll report to see if that solved the issue. At least now I know it's something wrong with my system. Thanks
  14. For the past 2 weeks, when I click on "click here to update", instead of what happened until now (the toolkit update appeared and started downloading the latest build), after the "Update Available" window, I click on "Install Update" and I get the same error window http://s6.postimg.org/60vbrh1ox/screenshot_3.png So, now I have to go to the website and download the latest build. I've tried deleting all files, installing older builds and then try to update them, it always gives the same result... as soon as I click "Install Update" I get that message. Is this a problem with my system or something wrong with the toolkit updater? Does anyone else have the same issue? This started to happen after build 1e175f6dda80 Thanks

  18. @Krazyone: Here it is I've changed the volumes of the 2 lead tones, if you find they are too loud or too low, just use the toolkit, click on the bottom where it says "Import Package", all the information will be filled in the toolkit, just click the tone(s) you want higher or lower, change the volume, click "Generate" and you have a new .psarc with the tone(s) louder or lower. You can also do this for the song volume, remove DD, change the name of the song (like I did and added NDD in the end of the song name), AppID, etc.

  23. Thanks a lot richomat, I'm working 2 jobs at the same time and I just can't find any spare time to play guitar and come to the forum I love the poll you made to select the songs for week 19 :D If it's ok with all the other members, while I'm so busy, if you and Krazyone could give me a hand on managing the championship I would be much appreciated. I don't remember if you have editor rights on the spreadsheet, but if you don't, just send me a pm with your email and I'll add you as editor, if you want, ofc. I see that we keep getting new players every week and that's amazing, something that I wasn't used to, but I've always aspired to see one day. Thanks to all that have joined and participate, I hope you like your time in the championship, I always love it :D

  25. Hi Grixxly. Don't feel like that. When I started playing in the CS many weeks ago, I had a difficulties in getting scores above 80% in any Intermediate song. Now, I can play any Intermediate and get 80% usually at the 1st run and after that the tendency is for the score to get higher, the more I play the song. I've been playing guitar since June 2012, you just started, I would say that your bass score, for 2 months of practice, it's already a very good score. Tip: Try to play the bass arrangement of the masterclass song Regards and don't give up :)
