  1. Im definitively puzzled by this behaviour. Ive already tried to check files integrity in Steam, which lead it to download some files. It started a few months ago. Ironically more or less when Ubisoft dropped Rocksmith. Ive reached the point where i'll only play a capo song as the last one of the day knowing i'll get it freezed after that. Ive also discovered that the game indeed crashes as soon as you tune with the capo as once it enters the song, it APPARENTLY plays as normal, BUT if you press ESC you cannot qet the pause menu, so it just plays untill it ends and then you get the two speakers background, and stuck there. You can then only force to close the game from Windows and restart it. Just in case i'll mention that ive also discovered my game is not reading new Custom DLC ive added to the game folder. I wanted today to try Tokyo Ghoul Unravel and downloaded 2 versions along with other two cdlc, and even thout I tried several times to reload the game and wait it to read all the content, they did not show in the song menu. Just saying in case there is a connection. Any past Custom DLC is still there and working. I appreciate any hint. I've not tried to reinstall it.
  2. More songs. Per instrument tracks. Drums and Keyboard playing. Improved picking hand notation that actually helps to see how its meant to be played. I've read the gazillion excuses of all kinds to not make those happen. And i dont care. Thats what would propel Rocksmith to a tenfold and beyond.
  3. Sound is sound, there's no good monitor for one specific thing, either they are techincally accurately or they aren't. It's like video monitor, if a video monitor have more red than it should, it'll never be considered good. Why would you consider it's good when it comes to something that is suppose to reproduce sound? Regarding the two monitor you shared, unless you can find actual test regarding their frequency response in axis and off axis, you might as well buy them totally blindly. Knowing how far they can reach within a 3dB margin doesn't mean that they don't have any kind of major dip somewhere in their frequency range or even bump (like color filter for a TV screen if you want). It's information that are severely lacking when it comes to studio monitor and the only two i know that have reliable and good result are the JBL 305/308 or the Line Pine from Kali Audio. Otherwise the next range of reliable monitor brand are the genelec or neumann but they tend to be way more expensive. Also the coaxial system is not something that solve the positioning, it's something that solve the technical challenge that is to create a coherent waveform in a given direction when both driver (tweeter and woofer) are not in the same axis but it doesn't magically make the whole thing better. The engineering behind coaxial system still requires work to get it right, something that can't be proven if there's no proper test done for those monitor. Hey Korn, got a question. Im still reading and learning. Im becoming more proficient about this topic. However i see that because how my room it is (not treated and asimetric) and the humidity and temperatures radical changes here, studio monitors should not be my first option at all. So ive leaned towards a more livealike option like the pa, which i did read about in the past, and ended on Full Range Speakers. Precisely i find this one interesting: Mackie Thump 15BST: https://mackie.com/products/thump-series My reasoning is that i need something designed to spread sound in a room, in expense of some fidelity, that will let me move without ruining the experience. Also i prefer the live sound kind of speaker, than a technnical one (let alone how compromised that gets in the lowest price range of monitors). The kind of sound of a band at rehearsal. I like also that it gets all the way from 32hz up to 23hz so it should have a good bass response without a dedicated sub. All in all i see it like a full range guitar amp that can run the whole music coming from Rocksmith. What do you think, am i screwing it up. I dont find a single review with someone playing a guitar, just a guy with a microphone as one would use to sing the national anthem before a match or something like that :mellow:
  4. Well my mind is already set in getting studio monitors. Thank you very much for your explanations, now i see it clearly. Just the last stament on its own makes my assumptions look ridiculous: JBL LSR 310 S: Low Frequency Extension 27 Hz http://www.jblpro.com/www/products/recording-broadcast/3-series/lsr310s#.XI5tKShKjb0 Ill probably go for a pair of studio monitors in the near future. I was considering the Yamaha HS-5 to Yamaha HS-7 at max, or now also JBL 305P MKII to JBL 306P MKII. Both white to blend with wall as much as they can mounted on floor stands. At the beggining i also read about a pair of cheaper jbl coaxial small monitors where one was slave. And reading more about coaxial drivers and considering flexibility in placing was desireable i found this one: Fluid Audio FX8 https://www.fluidaudio.com/fx8.html 35Hz - 22KHz (+/- 3db) Do you guys have a personal opinion for those considering that we are talking bout Rocksmith and playing an electric guitar. I dont want to end with something highly valued by users whose experience is based in electronic music or something like that so vastly different. And there goes the stupid question. What about pa portable systems. I see some brands where u can get a 2.1 system near the price range im looking for. Well it is higher watts what studio monitors use to build pricier models, and also the lower the watts the more distorting you get at a given volume, and Rocksmith and your guitars asks for high volume. My doubt is if put side to side and tested i would like more the experience of using those kind of studio monitors than a logitech z906 set of pc speakers. Im open to suggestions but confused and biased towards logitech as a safe bet because actually ive owned them for like 5 years before the amd in the subwoofer blew. And after repairing failed im considering getting either a new set of them or something that i know is more profesionally appreciated. But i dont have a way to hear those, except for those Pioneer DM-40 i did not like much, and Mackie CR3.5 which i did not like at all. (They sell but do not have to show any of the studio monitors i mentioned above in my reference shop) Hmm. Let say i get the JBL 305P MKII will i find i will need also a separate subwoofer. Also can active studio monitors be hooked directly to a pc or do they need some receiver or an audio interface in the middle. Also im not a desk user, i have them in the dining room and i could not place them in a proper way as i read they must be near you in a triangled position facing you. Another question i have is if those can compete with the amount of sound i get from a guitar amp like the Line 6 112. Because i was considering also an ab switch but i find cumbersome to throw efforts in configuring tones and multieffects racks (although ive found myself that with 4 tones blues, clean, crunch, and "insane" as labeled by line 6, the guitar can sound fine toghether with any kind of song of the sort i do play like Black Keys, Akira Yamaoka, Placebo, Marilin Manson). Ive read about people that felt in the end they wasted too much time with that attitude of pursuing every tone in some multieffect pedal or rack, that they could have used to play more, when you CAN JUST TAKE all the bucks you would have used for that extra equipment and just get the best, more powerful speakers you can get so you dont miss the amp at all when playing rocksmith 2014 remastered. And a side note going back to the apples to apples question is frequency response as per specs looks even better for the pc speakers (as long as you can trust the specs of course, which is the reason i ask to you guys): Logitech z906: Frequency Response 35 Hz - 20 kHz JBL 305P MKII: FREQUENCY RESPONSE (±3dB) 49Hz – 20kHz FREQUENCY RANGE (-10dB) 43Hz – 24kHzLOW FREQUENCY EXTENSION (-10dB) 43Hz Does those specs means the pc speakers would offer better bass and low frequency sound output.
  6. Should i take them like apples to apples, or like apples to oranges. I understand the first have a coloured sound, while the studio monitors have a plain sound that reflects the actual studio appearance of the music you hear. The same ive read many times that on average studio monitors are considered by most an unpleasant way to hear music, and as in Rocksmith you get everything mixed thats what you are doing. Let leave aside for a momment the different purpose of each one. My question is, should i compare the 500 watt rms of the Logitech Z906 with the 100watt to 300watt you would get out of near field studio monitors you can get without stretching your money too far away from the 250 bucks it takes to get the Logitech Z906. Because i have a Line 6 112 of 75watt 12" amp and it could crush to bits the logitech speakers. Should i give special significance to the diameter of the speakers above watt considerations. What about the SOUND QUALITY, does the engineering of an studio monitor provide better sound quality per watt than a good set of pc speakers, or even than HIFI speakers like those speakers towers used to hear music or for expensive home cinemas sets. In short. If you get let say a pair of Yamaha HS-5 and a set of Logitech Z906 and you try Rocksmith 2014 remastered with your guitar. Which one will i probably want to keep, and which one will i return to the shop.   7. I agree with firekorn. Maybe make uploaders to upload to a minimum of 3 hosts. Also i expect someone out ther in customforge to have what it takes to download everything and keep a local copy. Maybe you could encourage some kind of repackings made monthly so people can download everything uploaded in that month. The more people getting them, the better to get over some eventual havock.
  8. But i read an amp is not meant to work with the wide sound spectrum that Rocksmith music will output. Also i read people saying you can blow a pc if you plug them. I in fact have an amp that i may not call portable at all due to its weight. A Line 6 - Spider II 112 from like 2007 or so. And to even split the sound of my guitar to it while using rocksmith i read also i would need a splitter that will cancel the noise produced when you split in that way. So all in all it looks that a good portable speaker for my pc that may be meant to act as a wide spectrum monitor and also being portable could be the best compromise between quality and usability. I prefer something simple that i can carry with a notebook and even power the audio of a plain simple movie, or a rocksmith play.

But im looking for the purpose of hooking it to the PC so i can get Rocksmith running over it. And eventually carrying it with a notebook and plugging it to run on battery and still be able to play Rocksmith with guitar using this one. AND at the same time to let it act as my pc speaker for everything like movies and music. Thats the reason im looking at portable monitors and not at portable amps. If it works i may get 2 of them and plug each one of them to the analog sound jacks outputs of my PC motherboard (Left and Right). Then if i move away and want to carry the guitar i may just grab one (or the two along with a splitter) so i can plug it to the notebook to play Rocksmith, and sometimes even plug the guitar directly in it to use it as a portable amp without using Rocksmith (im supposing i can plug a guitar in that big jack that MIC IN that looks as meant for microphones, and im also supposing that i can plug it to a PC with an small jack cable in that LINE IN connector). Now, can you tell me if im missing or misunderstanding something. Or if you know about better alternatives out there, may you elaborate please. Im basically looking for a speaker or a pair of them that can act as PC speakers for every use INCLUDING good Rocksmith sound, and also being portable so i can use them on the go with a notebook running on batteries, and exceptionally using it also as a bare amp for the guitar if possible.
  10. Ive read there are portable amps but that even if i can connect them through the aux they are not good for more than just your guitar but not the whole music going from the game. That you should be looking at a monitor speaker is that true. What about some portable pc speaker that has at least dedicated bass. Preferably in a single piece. The problem is all i find are 2.1 which are clumsy to move, and im unsure how good could be such a low one to power rocksmith and a guitar, i would notbe surprised if sound is too distorted and poorly vivid. Any suggestions out there.
  11. ._. Ok now let me return to the real world, and rework my question, what would be good, guitar/pickups if you fall in love with that sound. As i found gibson hollow expensive i was indeed already lurking the gretschs that have lot of affordable models, also the ibanez. As long as the pickups are basically the same in the same body type there should be no remarkable differences, isnt it.
  12. Sorry for describing such a physical trait but i have no other way to ask for a band i saw in youtube that now i cannot find nor i have idea what their name is. Lead is a fat female young guitar, that sweats like mad, and plays like she is in the middle of a vudu exorcism. Is this enough for someone, because i found them without purpose so many times that i though they were well known but now i no longer find them.

Reading comments in the youtube page for the Riff Repeater performance of Walk the moon - Shut Up and Dance, y did read a guy saying that when this song was released he though it was going to be his new jam song, but that after that he ended up jumping back to Pantera. As a Rocksmith guitar novice can you explain me what was he was talking about. I mean whats that about using a song to jam, maybe like playing the song and adding notes by improvisation that make sense with the rith you are hearing. And what would make a song to be good for such purpose. Are there some most used songs by guitar players for jam..

How do you learn to position all your fingers at once in a single move in chords, or at least slowly at the same time, as i see in videos, instead of staring at the fretboard like dumb then bending one by one to get each note, usually putting first fingers 1 and 3 to use them as anchors to poorly pull the remaining ones to their positions. Is there anything i should train, any guitar exercise, or maybe a hand stretching or finger independence guitar or not exercise. Or it will simply start working after a lot of years playing chords. I feel extremely dumb trying to get a Chord like that. The only Chords i get without the need of looking to the guitar and placing them one by one like that, are the one where you only fret two contiguous string along 3 frets you know: Finger 1 in String 6 in Fret 3 along with Finger 3 in String 5 in Fret 5. And: Finger 1 in String 6 in Fret 3 along with Finger 3 in String 5 in Fret 5 and with Finger 4 in String 4 in Fret 5. Well and lately also the: Finger 1 in String 3 in Fret 1 along with Finger 2 in String 4 in Fret 2 and Finger 3 in String 5 in Fret 2 playing the rest of strings open. I should add also the octaves, the ones with the muted string in the middle that usually run in the 5 and 3 Strings spaced by 1 fret. (Crawwwling in my skiiin xD, althoug this octaves sound pretty bad with me as i do too much noise, and i mean noise not note sound, on the muted string, i really have a fight with muted strings like i were knocking my pick against a stone when i meet them.) I can decently make those without two much hassle in those positions and others (so this is about hand and finger positioning no matter where are you at in the fretboard). But the rest are a mistery no matter how many times they repeat, some 3 finger chords and mostly 4 finger chords i fret them note by note and looking at the fretboard like dumb. Ideas, comments, suggestions, advices, wise experience revelations. (Sidenote: any way less jerky to show chords in the forum without the hassle of uploading a picture or maybe a convention code to write them). (UPDATE I just found a chord generator you can link pictures from is that the best options looks easy http://chordgenerator.net/ is that what you would use)
  16. But my ears say to me a Chord does not sound the same if you pick it from the thinnest string to the thickest one, than if you do it from the thickest one to the thinnest. Or maybe thats bad fretting or picking on my part :wacko:
  17. Are there specific exercises either for guitar or finger stretching exercises for that, or just keep playing and try to be relaxed.
  18. Are you supposed also to pick up and down, alternate picking, chords. You know when you get some of them in a row, well or even if you just picked down then you get a chord do you pick that one up. Or Chords are always picked down.
  19. I tend to tense my fingers when i fret a string, so basically when i remove them from the string i catapulte them far away from the strings. On the other side i see guitar players fingers relaxed and just floating or hovering above the strings very near. How do you refrain from moving them away from the strings the same way you would away from a hot pan.

  21. Since ive started learning and downloading Custom DLC ive seen many that unlike official DLC ive found them being almost unplayable. As im only an apprentice thats far from enough to be an argument. But being musically illiterate since then i ask myself: 1. Are there usually more than one way to produce the same sound and hence a song may be played by two people using different hand positions and still sound exactly the same. 2. By any chance are sometimes CDLC made using some kind of music software that translates the sound to Rocksmith notes in such a way that the computer machine translated outcome may not be by any means playable or barely playable. Let say, if there is a CDLC and then Rocksmith officially release that same song as a DLC, will the notes position be exactly the same, or it may be different and more polished and playable (i know they try to mimick the original playing but you know what i mean).

What about this Chords: C# and D# http://www.guitar-chords.org.uk/chord-images/c-sharp-major-2.gif You need to stretch your finger 2 along two frets to reach the sixth then stuff two more fingers in the same fret yet still care to not mute the string 1. D# the same but on frets 6 and 8. It is the only chord ive ever seen asking to stretch the second finger apart like that.
  23. Thanks for your replies. I have another question related to this. I sometimes find 3 notes exactly like that but on a Chord. 3 notes in the same fret (sometimes along with a fourth on a different fret). And Rocksmith clearly asks you to put your tips fingers 1, 2 and 3, at the same time fretting 3 contiguous strings like 5,4 and 3, let say on fret 3. Now my question is about hand position. Of course i have a hugh issue to push 3 of my sausage styled fat and short fingers in the same fret next to each other fretting 3 contiguous strings. But also doing something like that instinctively makes me rotate my handwith the wrist pointing up to the headstock in the same position you would SOMETIMES see a musician fret a Cello or a Double Bass with hand rotated roughly 90º wrist up and fingers totally pointing down to the guitar body mostly like this: Ive read a lot about the classical hand position and im improving a lot thanks to that but sometimes i discover myself doing this. Is this that bad. Is it usual to see someone do something like this. Have you guys saw this before. Is it a useful technic or simply a mistake.
