  1. Yeah, the newest toolkit builds will definitely work with your older packages. As for the volume, and the relationship between the track and guitar volumes, I couldn't say for sure (great question though!). Since the two have an inverse relationship, maybe try increasing the track volume by the same value that you "decrease" the guitar volume and see how it turns out. I could easily be wrong though ;)As a charter, I'm pretty sure you know what I mean. But for anyone who doesn't...... in order to increase the track (or preview) volume, you must bump the db value up closer to 0. For the tones, it's the opposite. You'll need to decrease the value, away from "0", farther into the negative numbers.
  2. Working on Over the Hills and Far Away now. I've been a bit busier the past few weeks, so the releases haven't been as frequent.I'm still committed to this, though!
  3. My guess would be that there's notes that appear before your first section starts. Try ensuring that you've added an "intro" section at the beginning of the measure that contains the first notes.
  4. Awesome! Glad that worked. Another helpful one is SHIFT + end. This'll select all notes after your initial selection.
  5. Since it's a new laptop, it might be best to start by troubleshooting your audio devices and drivers. Make sure those are working properly and have the most up to date drivers. Do others games and/or audio work correctly? Also, what are the performance specs of your laptop? I'd assume it's capable of running RS smoothly, but you never know. Obviously, make sure that any unnecessary programs aren't running in the back round, and that your CPU usage and available memory are where they should be before starting RS.Since you said that it occurs as soon as Rocksmith is launched, I'd guess that it's one the two things above. Depending on the specs, maybe you'll need to tweak some of the RS settings in order for things to work properly. Good luck man!
  6. When it comes to your "embedded lyrics" issue, the best solution might have been to select "no" when RS asks if you want to also import the GP file's sections and phrases. If you're at a point in the project where it would make sense to erase the tracks and re-import, that's what I'd do. Especially with the strange capo removal thing you described (which I'm afraid I can't explain). You'll just have to add sections and phrases manually. If you're going to add DD later, than you don't need to add phrases, just sections. The DDC will automatically add all the phrases for you.If re-importing would cause you to loose a good amount of work, you can got to Beat>All events. From here you should be able to delete only those pesky "lyric phrases." In order to select multiple notes, just click on the first note (then release), then press and hold shift, then click on the last note in the string (while still holding shift). I think only the left shift button on my keyboard works for this -maybe my keyboard is just quirky...Above all else, listen to raynebc :D He knows his stuff, and has done some epic work on EoF.
  7. Hopefully you're able to figure everything out! There's some good advice being thrown around this thread. It was kind of hard for me to tell which questions you might still be hung up on, so it might be worth reiterating that in your next comment :D I'd be happy to chime in where I can. Good luck!
  8. Let me put this as cordially and cheerfully as I possibly can: Your general disposition toward those of use that are trying to assist you could....well...use some improvement. I've contributed to a few of your threads, and the common theme is that you tend to completely discount the advice and assistance of the community. I sincerely hope I'm misinterpreting your written words, because...dude...we're trying to help! And 99.9% of us seem to be super nice people :)I should apologize, though, since it wasn't clear to me that you were intending to just "give" these songs to someone who would add a custom tone. Had I known that, I wouldn't have initially responded by giving you a usable tone. However I must encourage you to try and add a tone (any tone) to someone else's song. Then you'll see what I meant in my previous comment. It'll take you 2 mins to plug in a new tone, since you already have all of the usable files on your machine ready to go. It'll take far longer for someone else to finish one of yours. With that aside, I just converted, unpacked, and imported your Layla custom. In all honesty, I'd have to start all over from scratch in order to make this one playable. I'm not sure how you synced it, most of the beat markers have been moved, but virtually none of them are synced with the timing of the recording. As a result, most of the notes are off as well, and it's missing a good deal of notes as well.I was going to try and pick up where you left off, but I'm not feeling up to it.
  9. You'd just need to generate the package with the toolkit after you've saved the project in EoF. Hopefully you've saved a template of the package the first time around :)If you've added DD, then you'll need to run DDC again because you've updated the .xml files that DDC used the first time. It's possible that there's an easier way, but if there is, the above steps are simple enough that I haven't bothered to find out.
  10. All of the suggestions are basically centered around a few of the things that your guide has incorrectly mandated. Such as "always add 3000ms of leading silence" or "do not use REAL_BASS_22." There are plenty of instances where these things just aren't true. Wouldn't we be doing a disservice to the reader if we fed them this kind of false information? The sad truth is that many of the submitted CDLCs fall well short, for one reason or another. If we could all agree, and point to a single document (such as yours) or video and say "refer to this", I think that the community would be better for it. No, even though it may work on very rare occasions, you should never move notes like this. Syncing should be done by moving the beat markers only. Once that's done, you may need to move notes if the GP file is incorrect or has a different lead in time. As an alternative to this, some people prefer to use software outside of EoF in order to properly sync the beat markers. Moving notes as a method of syncing will lead to:1) DD not working correctly ( @@Chlipouni, the author of DDC, has this in his signature)2) sections and phrases out of alignment, and possible riff repeater issues3) major trouble with alternate time signatures4) beats will appear incorrectly in-game5) having to sync each arrangement individually, as opposed to just once6) the inability to collaborate/add arrangements charted by others. You will have to re-sync once again.7) further headaches when making any revisions/updates
  11. It'd be much easier for you to plug in a tone, since you already have all of the necessary source material on your machine. This would also make it far easier for you to support any future revisions/updates.You'd just need to load up your template in the toolkit and "import" the tones from my CDLC. Then obviously ensure that your pre-existing arrangements use the tones. This is what @@engleg and I are getting at. It's much easier to import a tone than it is to unpack someone else CDLC, inspect/approve all of the components, and repack it.
  12. Haha ok then. I'll leave it as is for now. I'm not at all surprised that he changes it up, actually. It would also be pretty tough to prove which chord voicing is actually used on the recording.
  13. On a side note, that Denmark radio set might very well be my favorite Zeppelin performance. Just so much energy, among all of them, and good god Jimmy's playing is as good as it ever was.I wonder how infamous that Telecaster would be today if his idiot "friend" hadn't painted over it.
  14. ah, yes. I see it now....Jimmy, you tricky bastard. It sounds way better this way, without the bassy-ness of the power chord.I'm in EoF, changing it now :)
  15. If you're looking for a decent Clapton and Allman tones from that album, feel free to import the ones from my Have You Ever Loved a Woman CDLC. They're not perfect but they sound pretty close to my ears.http://customsforge.com/topic/2171-have-you-ever-loved-a-woman/
  16. On an unrelated note, if you're creating the studio version of Layla.....be advised that the recording was sped up about a 1/4 step, so you'll need to figure out the actual "A" frequency (440hz is standard) and adjust it properly in the toolkit when you import the instrument tracks. My guess is that it'll end up being somewhere around A 450, but it'll take a keen ear to get it right. You other option would be to use some software to slow down your audio file to render it back to A 440, which hardly seems easier than the above. If you don't adjust this, I guarantee that it will sound terrible :) and your efforts will be wasted. Just tune your guitar a 1/4 step in any direction and play along with your favorite song....Also Duane Allman is just insanely out of tune (independent of the tape speed) on the recording, so godspeed to you!!
  17. Yeah, I agree with @@firekorn as well. While I definitely admire and appreciate the effort, some of the points fall a bit short. We desperately need a better guide to EoF than the existing material here on CF, which is at best, misleading. I might end up making a video tutorial once my screen capture software is configured, but there's definitely still some value to be had with your venture here.Firstly, telling EoF to encode your audio file at 256k isn't going to benefit you if the file you're importing is already less than 256k. All you're doing is making a larger than necessary file. A 128k mp3 isn't going to sound any better after you've encoded it to 256k.Like firekorn said, the real bass 22 track is totally usable, so it might be best to explain that all 4 of those available tracks are interchangeable for guitar and bass. They're just pre-configured for the instrument in their name. For rexample, if you import a guitar GP file into REAL_BASS 22, EoF will automatically change the string/fret setting to accommodate it.With regard to the leading silence, 3,000 milliseconds would just be a guideline. I'd say anything between 3,000-5,000 is perfect, but if the song already has (for example) a drum intro that lasts at least 3,000 milliseconds, then there's obviously no need to add additional leading silence. The guide is definitely misleading on the first beat marker position (firekorn is right again). The position of the beat markers relative to the music has no effect on DD. DD simply interprets the .xml files that EoF creates. After importing the GP file, you NEVER want to drag all the notes around. For basically any reason. This is because the notes are locked into the specific BPM of where they were dragged from, and the area where you'll be placing them is not necessarily going to have the same BPM. If you do drag notes, then using CTRL+SHIFT+R will snap them back to the grid (based upon the nearest value, set in grid snap).Selecting "also add a RS phrase isn't the end of the world." Especially if someone's not going to use DD, since they'd have to manually add all the phrases that DDC adds automatically. DDC works perfectly fine whether or not you check this option. With Wwise, once again, setting a higher quality output won't do you any good unless your ORIGINAL input was of higher quality. The Wwise setting of 8 (128k per channel) would only benefit you if your original input was of 256k or higher. If your original input had a bitrate of 128k, then there will be no difference in sound quality between setting 4-8. Your file size will just be about twice as large.Ok, I'm done I swear :D Despite how this might read, I'm hoping to contribute a bit to your project here, not take away from it. I'm glad that you took the time to spearhead this effort. If you feel compelled to do so, feel free to use any of the above in any future revisions.
  18. You mean the A chord during the chorus that Jimmy up-picks? In my CDLC it goes like this:E-5 A-7 D-5 G-6I think I got it right, based on his hand position.
  19. Haha, yeah that's very true. That was when he was showing how he plays the Whole Lotta Love bassline, which I now need to go back and fix. But Zeppelin bass tabs are almost always wrong, in one way or another. Here's my best on The Lemon Song so far: http://i.imgur.com/c3kFPew.png
  20. I've never been more proud of an 82% accuracy score (The Lemon Song bass) haha. I'll post a screenshot the next time I play it.If it wasn't for RS's "generous" note recognition, the score could have easily been somewhere in 50-60% range. But it's always fun to play, regardless of the score.
  21. That video is GOLD!Looks like I'll have to go back and spot check a few of the CDLCs haha. Especially Whole Lotta Love.
  22. I can already tell that this is going to be my new favorite thread :) I bet @@Womac911 will make the occasional appearance as well.Nice scores, man. Lets see what you get on The Lemon Song haha
  23. Ok, that explains it. It's not you, it's just that he made all of his songs in the way that I described above. so they're all going to be like that.
  24. Never apologize for talking about Zeppelin :D . In fact, I might add that line to the OP haha.I hear you 100%. I personally think it would have felt like a Zeppelin cover band if they had continued on. Who knows if they would have released any worth while new material, though. For me, all of the "post-Bonham" live stuff feels off. Almost gimmicky, I guess. It's fun to watch, but it's just not the same.
  25. You're very welcome man! Glad you like it.I'm not even a bass player, but JPJ's stuff is just unreal. I always tell everyone that IMO, he's the most integral member of Zeppelin. He's not only been responsible for some the most creative basslines ever, but he's the one who prevents Bonham from speeding up all the time :-P You can really hear it on quite a few songs, having to sync each song for this project has made me notice it even more.
