  1. Since you've now edited your OP...What is the time signature of the GP file, and does it match the time signature in EoF? Unless I'm mistaken, your GP file appears to be in 12/8 time, while EoF is in 6/8. This will still import with the correct note duration, though, since an eight note counts as one beat in both. I think the real culprit is an improper sync to the audio. Notice how the downbeat of measures 35 and 37 (in your fist pic) doesn't coincide with the spike in the waveform graph?
  2. The link to your first picture is incorrect, so I'm not really sure what you mean there. Also, there's no such thing as a "dotted quarter eighth" note, so... that doesn't help much either. EoF shouldn't have any issues importing dotted notes, in any case. First and foremost, you should add some leading silence and sync your beat map properly. It's pretty tough to differentiate note duration when the beat map in EoF doesn't match up. Plus, it's just best practice. As for the tremolo, I'm not sure if it imports properly into EoF from the GP file, but you should be able to add it manually in EoF. How it shows up in-game, though, I'm not sure. I've never had to use it. Vibrato should import just fine, but (probably) not tremolo.
  3. In My Time of Dying is now completed. Sorry, but no bass guitar. JPJ used a fretless bass on the recording, and I'm just not up for trying to chart it out and add all of the slide techniques in EoF to mimick a fretless. Especially since it would sound/play really gimmicky in RS.
  4. I'm honestly not sure that I understand your problem correctly, to be honest. During the writing/recording process of a song, I don't see how the guitar player could be recording at a different speed or counting the beats any differently than the bass player. It sounds to me like the person who made the tab screwed up. If you were to sync the beat map entirely and add the appropriate time signature BEFORE importing the bass and guitar tabs, wouldn't your problem be solved? Both arrangements have the same number of measures, right? Just different "speeds?"
  5. I highly recommend that you watch the tutorial vids by PC Plum and Snake (although there's some negligible "untruths" in this one). When you say that the song has "2 different BPMs", but they're only 2 BPMs apart.... it sounds as if you just need to sync the chart with audio properly, rather than rely on a static BPM value. Unless the song is edited during the mixing process (as is the case in many "modern" songs) to use an exact BPM value throughout, there will be slight variations in the BPM all over the place. Your best bet is to either use the paid-for version of GoPlayAlong, or drag the first beat of every measure or so in EoF to match the audio. Using the (F5) wave graph should help since there's often patterns (like the drummer hitting the snare on the same beats each time) that will help you sync it easily. Also...everything that @@raynebc said is spot on, as always. :)
  6. This might be something that you'd want to bring up with the actual charters of the songs, in those cases. It's a much easier fix for the original charter, as long as they've saved the template file for the CDLC. It might be more effective than "requesting" that everyone shape up :) You've certainly provided some good advice for those who don't pay attention to that sort of thing, though.
  7. As for the leading silence issue, it sounds like you selected the "stream" option (which is the default) when adding the leading silence in EoF. You'll want to choose "re-encode" instead. This way, the actual audio file will get re-encoded to include the leading silence. You'll then need to use the newly saved audio file, and convert it (again) using WWise. Then repack with the toolkit. As for the other problem, I'm not so certain. My suggestion would be to make sure that you place the sections correctly in EoF. Place the fist section on the first beat of the first measure that includes a note. After that, just place them on the first beat of any measure. Determining when a section ends and a new one begins is entirely subjective.
  8. Which tutorials did you watch? Also, it might help us if you could elaborate a bit on your two bullet points :)
  9. Do other customs work for you, or is this a problem with every custom song that you try to play? The short answer is: if it happens with every single song, you'll need to place the correct .dll file in the correct place (see tutorials). If it's only a few songs, then the creator of those songs screwed up.
  10. The only thing I did with my project is syncing it until the eight minute. I gave up. It would take too long to finish this custom. Of course if you just sync the GP tab, do RR and tones, then it will be at least playable, but I'm a charter the cares about almost every single note and in the tab I found I had to link notes (for example slide from 3 to 2 and 0 in one note without plucking the string) with the "linknext" status. There are a lot of slides to 0 - I would chart them as unpitched slides to 1 and then pull-off to 0 - I think it's the best option. A lot of mixes of slides and sustain are also present here. I think there should be more people working on that project. Yeah, that's prettymuch where I'm at right now, I've got the whole thing synced, but have only just started on the kind of "optimizations" that you mentioned. I'm probably not going to spend any more time on it today, though. This one is going to be so much fun to play though!
  11. Aside from @@Kamyk 's last post, I'm working on The Rover right now, as it's next in the order. I've only just started to chart it, and because the available GP files are so terrible, I'm going to have to chart it all manually. It's looking like the next time I'll be able to resume work on it will be this weekend.
  12. I'm with @@raynebc , it sounds like you haven't synced the beat map. When you play the song in EoF, are the notes in sync with the audio?
  13. Please read this thread in it's entirety: http://customsforge.com/topic/901-how-to-use-custom-dlcs-in-rs2014/You're missing the .dll file. The thread will explain everything for you.
  14. A wah pedal is really just a fancy equalizer, so as long as the open and closed wah tones could be done with two separate RS tones then you'll be able to do it.Unless I'm mistaken, a closed wah is very similar to an EQ pedal with the higher frequencies boosted, while the opposite is true when it's in the open position. So just use one of the EQ pedals in RS to dial them in. One tone for the closed position, and another for the open position.Make sense?
  15. The trouble with this would be that the game would have a very difficult time with note recognition here, which would cause the player to "miss" all of those descending notes as far as RS is concerned. Even if the pick slide is actually played correctly.I'd say you'd be better off charting it as a fretted, muted note. Then author a slide down to the desired fret. For example chart a note on the 20th fret (or wherever you think the pick slide should start) and hit SHIFT+X with that note selected. Then hit CTRL+down arrow, and then enter where you'd like the slide to stop. This way, RS isn't going to be looking for any specific note from the player, just any noise whatsoever. Make sense?
  16. It's always worked fine for me. My guess would be that the beatmap isn't synced correctly. You can do this either before or after you import the GP file.Obviously, make sure that the GP file you're importing actually uses a 12/8 time signature and that you select yes when EoF asks if you want to use the time signatures from the GP file.
  17. Absolutely! Go right ahead, man. I was thinking the same thing when the remastered stuff came out. I would have probably used the backing track if it had been available at the time.Feel free to use any/all of my arrangements if it'll help you out. Let me know if you end up needing anything. It might be worth having one of us go back and use the remastered version of Whole Lotta Love too...since it contains some awesome/hilarious Robert Plant vocals and the same guitar tracks, minus the solo!!!! Btw, No Quarter and The Ocean are getting added in just a few minutes!
  18. Quick update:Dancing Days just needs to be tested, D'yer Mak'er is done except for custom tones. Hopefully I'll get these released today and start work on No Quarter!
  19. Wrapping up Dancing Days now. Just tones and testing left. This one was/is interesting because of what are essentially "co-lead guitar" tracks throughout most of the song. A very fun, rhythmic bass line too :)
  20. No worries, man. I've just started a new job, so I've been busy as well. It's likely I'll be moving soon, too.As you can see, I haven't made too much progress in the past few weeks.:)
  21. Yeah, it sounds like the family members of the guy from Spirit (who passed away) are looking for a big payday.I've listened to the song, and short of dissecting the music theory, they just don't sound that alike to me. The first three notes are probably the same, but I didn't feel like there were enough similarities to warrant a lawsuit.
  22. Ha! very soon. Just need to work on the custom tones for Over the Hills and Far Away, and it'll be done.
  23. You still need to have WWise installed. The toolkit just uses the WWise engine through the command line to make the conversion. This is assuming that the feature works, since I haven't read about it or tested it. But either way, the toolkit doesn't have the capability to do a stand-alone conversion.
