  1. Finished Alias and Whoracle Added Land Of Confusion and Evil in a Closet
  2. We have figured out how to create a 5 strings bass part playable in Rocksmith 2014 but i had some problem in EOF to get everythings right. My problem was that by using the Part Real_Bass or Part Real_Bass_22, when using 5 strings, the tuning standard is the actual 5 strings bass standard BEADG which seems logic, but it leads to some issue with what i was trying to do. So i was wandering if it was possible to set the standard tuning from which i set my own tuning, choose beetwen E standard from guitar of 5 strings bass standard and i wasn't able to figure out what standard was used for a 6 strings bass part. And my second problem was that by using a guitar part as a bass part to used the E standard default, i was clearly using too many guitar arrangement for one EOF project, so i was wandering if it is possible to create more track for guitar because in RS we can actually max out to 4 guitar arrangement and having all of them in the same EOF project would be much more easier! Overall it's more suggestion for EOF upgrade than real bug but having at least an answer about the standard tuning use for the 5 and 6 strings bass would be great! Thank you.
  3. Tutorial available, don't know if it's very clear but it's a start : http://customsforge.com/topic/5227-5-strings-bass-and-low-note-recognition/
  4. Following the discusssion here about bass recognition problem below C1 note and possible creation of 5 strings bass part here is the tutorial to get the recognition to work and to actually make possible a 5 strings bass part in Rocksmith 2014! I. Bass recognition workaround First off, it's only necessary to do this when the bass part have note below the C1. Which means any B Standard or lower and C# drop B and lower tuning need to go through this operation. Step 1 : EOF Tuning change Select the bass part (Song -> Track -> Part Real_Bass or Part Real_Bass_22)Change the tuning (Track -> Pro Guitar -> Set Tuning) following the rule belowFor each strings, the number will be equal to the number of half steps below E standard plus 12. Exemple : for B standard each fret is 5 half steps below standard (-5 in EOF) so you will indicate in eof -5+12=7 for all the strings Note that when you import a GP file EOF take the tuning from it, so you will just have to add 12 to the number indicated in EOF. Say NO when EOF ask you to transposeNote that the strings name should keep the same in EOF, or it means that you didn't add 12 Step 2 : Toolkit tuning Add the bass arrangementDon't change the tuning (it import the one from EOF)Change the Tuning Pitch to 220 (the toolkit indicate an offset of -1200.00 and the note will A3 instead of A4Do everything else as alwaysStep 3 : Enjoy! II. 5 strings bass Step 1 : EOF 5 strings bass part Disclaimer : Create your 5 strings bass part in EOF in a guitar part as you will usually do with any partFor the tuning, if you've imported it from a GP file you don't have anything to do. If you've created the part in EOF, change the tuning in EOF just by getting the name of the strings right (doesn't care for the higher strings if you kept 6 strings in EOF) The standard for 5 and 6 strings bass would give the following tuning in EOF : Step 2 : Toolkit bass part Add a new arrangementSelect your xml file containing the 5 strings bass partType : GuitarName : Lead or Rythm, it will just change where it will be in rocksmithTuning : Should be the same as in EOFCheck the bonus arrangement if you don't want the bass part to be too easy to start with a guitar because a guitar won't be able to play it!Change the tuning pitch to 220 instead of 440.Do as usual for the tone.Step 3 : Enjoy! Warning : A guitar player won't be able to play it normally (maybe if you have a pedal that allow you to play as low as a bass)Alert the player that this is available, Rocksmith absolutely doesn't alert you by himself!Rocksmith used the lower tuning between the normal arrangement and the bonus one for sorting by tuning so if the bass use a lower tuning (based on the number set in EOF) than the guitar arrangement, RS will indicate the bass tuning! I forgot to mention the men that made all of this possible by his findings : Ross A big thanks to him!
  5. Well it was a first experience for the 5 strings bass. I will try to keep doing it when i have all the needed material that allow me to do it but for other charter to do it, you might need to spread the word around and hope them to do it. And i will write a tutorial for the 5 strings bass and for the recognition workaround so that it's easier for people to implement it.
  6. Yes it work if it's an USB mic.
  7. here is a new version of Land of confusion with a more standard tunning (one half step down from a 5 strings bass standard tunning) http://www.mediafire.com/download/revwcuccrd37dh7
  8. I clearly stated that there is different way, mine here is just one and i don't say any other is wrong! We really need a post that link or have all the tuorial about this, because i think it's one of the most important things when creating a custom. And even by doing this, i still need to go throught the part in RS to spot errors. I Hope and think that my custom have their beat map sync and i just wanted to let know how did i do that, it might not be the best way or anything but it's a start and adding any other way might a reallly good point to let people kown about every option they have.
  9. Yeah i forget to say that the note needed to be past... I don't think there's only one way to sync but having many tutorial helps to sort out what has absolutely to be done and what shouldn't be. And everyone has his little habit which doesn't really change the final result!
  10. Yeah, i was thinking about this, only doing a half step down tunning would work and make more sense than the actual tunning used in the tab. I will change everything tonight and repost a new version to see if it make more sense. About the last 20 seconds, i will try to sort it out but it's not link to the test but only to the song and the tab that i have... I will try to do a proper tutorial here with some information about which tunning to choose etc. during the weekend.
  11. @@Ross : You can compared to the bass part for the note, it's exactly the same only on 4 strings By the way, i'm not really used to the standard 5 strings bass tunning is there anything special here or the way it is actually done in Land of Confusion is ok?
  12. The bass tunning should be A#0 C1 F1 A#1 D#2 and for the 6th strings during tunning you should play the 5th fret of the 5th strings in theory with a 5 strings bass. With a 4 strings, during the tunning phase you should play the 5th then the 10th fret on the highest string once you've tuned down to a C drop Bb. I'm not sure it's crystal clear... I will take a look at what is actually set in the toolkit and EOF when i will be at home and have acces to the file but the strings name should be displayed correctly in RS.
  13. When you choose a song the last line in the menu just before launching the song allow you to change the arrangement. The name is pretty self explanatory.
  14. On my song since the Bonus arrangement is in a lower tunning, it ruins the sorting of the lead part (RS use the lower tunning between the normal arrangement and the bonus one). I really would love a tester even with a 4 strings bass so that i know it's the good tunning that is set and it's actually playable as it is.
  15. I've made a text version of my own way of syncing a song (which come pretty close to yours in some point) available here : http://customsforge.com/topic/5099-how-to-sync-your-beat-map/ If you want we can re-unite all the tutorials about beat map syncing here to simplify people search.
  16. Finished The mirror's truth and Egonomic, and updated Alias (will soon be finished) Coming Next : Whoracle (Almost entirely finished, no vocals and there's no need of chart verification, just misses the RR) Land Of confusion (there's some testing for a 5 strings bass goind on there but there's no RR in the version posted) Evil in a closet (there's some tone switch and RR left before upload)
  17. Having this as a user preference why not but i'm not sure it will be that usefull since it really depend on the song and the riff.
  18. So here it is : http://www.mediafire.com/.../In-Flames_Land-Of-Confusion_v1_p.psarc It's the lead bonus arrangement for the bass part with 5 strings (if anyone with a bass even a 4 strings can confirm me that it works fine, it's kinda impossible for me to try it out with a guitar...)
  19. It's a setup problem, your strings, when they're vibrating, touch the frets bellow which make a metallic noise. Tighten up the strings and higher bridge should do most of the job or changing the actual curve of the neck is also a solution.
  20. Nop, it's automated by rocksmith, and goind as low as a 5 strings bass on my guitar, well i like spaghettis but not on my guitar...
  21. I will try the guitar trick since i have a 5 strings bass songs (with the right tab) and a lot of room in the bonus arrangement to make it but i won't be able to try it myself.
  22. I still encounter a lot of customs with un sync beat map. It might not look like a problem at first sight but it could become messy in a lot of case! So here is the way I do it. It might not be the better or the quicker but it works well for me and it's quite simple because it doesn't require much. 1. The software It's quite simple : EOF (make sure you have the last version) Your ear! 2. The files I will stated the obvious here but better safe than sorry. The song mp3 or wav or whatever that EOF can use The GP file If you don't have this two file, well just go get them, i won't cover the beat map sync without GP file in this tutorial. 3. Your new EOF project Nothing really special here, choose your song, enter the artist/song name as usual, use the folder as you always do and create the ogg with the quality you usually use. 4. preparing the beat map Let's go : Show the waveform graph (F5 or Song -> Waveform Graph -> Show) Move the first beat so that he align with the start of the song (where the waveform start to wave) Estimate the bpm with EOF (Beat -> Estimate BPM) Click "Ok" Choose Yes Compare the EOF BPM with the GP file BPM, if the EOF is double of half the GP BPM, adjust the BPM in EOF with the double or half BPM option (Beat -> Double BPM or Beat -> Halve BPM) The closer the estimate is, the lesser you will have to do in the next step Import your GP file (File -> Guitar Pro Import) Choose Yes to the first question (about time signature) Say No to the second question (about phrases/sections, it won't show up if there's no marker text in the GP file) Import the lead part (if you don't have any lead part go to number 25) If the first note is at the right place go to number 17 If it's not, select all the note (ctrl+a or Edit -> Selection -> Select All) Copy (ctrl+c or Edit -> Copy) Delete all the note (del or Note -> Delete) Got to the beat where the note start (use Page Up or Page Down or ctrl+shift+Page up/down to move at the exact right place) Paste everything back (ctrl+v or Edit -> paste) Once the first note is at the right place go at the beginning of the song (Home or Song -> Seek -> Start) Activate the clap and the metronome (C or Edit -> Claps and M or Edit -> Metronome) Listen to the clap and metronome to spot a gap between the song and the clap/metronome (the note should help you ear what the part is actually playing) If you spot a gap, choose the beat corresponding to the note you want to move (Only move the first beat of the measure) and slide this beat to it's place in the song If the note hasn't move Undo it (ctrl+z or Edit -> Undo) and go back to the number 19 If the note has aligned, check if your really synced If not Undo it (ctrl+z or Edit -> undo) If your sync repeat from number 19 to 24 untill you got all the song sync then continue Import the next part (rythm or bass) and go back to number 12 You shouldn't have anything to move if you have done a good job in the first part! Once you've gone through all the part and you are sure everything in sync, well everything in sync! Good Job! 5. Some tips and tricks This method isn't perfect since it is relying on your ear but with experience you can go through everything much faster and training your ear will help you when you will play! If you are sure a beat is at is rightfull place, use an anchor (click on the beat and press shift+a or Beat -> Anchor Beat)! This is pretty usefull for slow down or floating breakdown By doing this, you will actually see some flaws on the chart (weird slides mostly), you can take time to correct them during the synchronization. Take your mark with easy songs played with a metronome or with minimal tempo change I fast forward through the rythm and bass part just to check the transition of the song but i really encourage you to go through all the part at normal speed first especially if you aren't sure of you! I think i have gone through everything! It actually takes me for a 3 minutes songs about 15 to 30 minutes depending on the complexity of the beat map and by going through all the 3 parts. If you have any question or suggestion don't hesitate to comment!
  23. Added Alias, The Mirror's Truth and Egonomic.
