Leverage the Community to Improve our Suite of Tools?
firekorn replied to kring's question in Rocksmith Remastered
Money as never been proven to be a good motivator, i know it's one but you won't do more than what people ask for with money but when other motivation as simple as the recognition by peer and such can do so much more than money but it depends on the person. It's a basic in management. You don't just give money to people they will do the bare minimum, find something else as a motivator and you will obtain way better results as we can see for the Toolkit and EOF. That's why i think it's better to concentrate on finding the man/women that wants to work on a project, then we'll worry about the retribution, money or whatever he/she wants in return. Money is something that you worry after you find the people that already wants to work on the project or the project will die anyway not matter how much money you spent on it. And collecting/distributing funds can take a lot of times and can be complicated by the laws of the country where the money. -
There's no actual bass as there's not much of an actual guitar on this song by Evanescence it's mostly piano.

In don't fear the repear the alternate lead is exactly the same as the rhythm par to be fair and if you took Hangar 18 by megadeth, all solos whoever plays it are only in the lead part. Anyway it's my opinion and Ubisoft does kind of contradict themself on some specific cases so i don't force anyone to do it in a particular way and charter can do as they think it's better as long as all the part are correctly done and available to play it's good enough for me :D
-
Oh i know that i just don't care about the fact that two different guitarist play :p I just want when i play lead to have all the solo possible if somes overlap you do like official DLC, you create a bonus arrangement with the other solos and the rhythm is a full rhythm meant to those who don't want to play the solos for whatever reason. I understand why you want to respect the way the guitarist are playing but it just isn't the right way in my opinion and it clearly isn't the way Ubisoft do their DLC either.
-
@@Shiroo : i'm talking about the fact that there is solo in the rhythm part that are not in the lead part which go agains the definition of each path, you probably did it that way to respect the way each guitarist play but that's not the way i think it should be in my opinion.

oh yeah my bad i switched those two :P

My immortal doesn't have any rhythm part and the lead/rhythm construction on Ijime, Dame, Zetaii is kinda bad, both have important solo part. Anyway here's my first score for this week : Beg Lead 96% and 134 streak : http://imgur.com/Yzgw0cI Beg Bass 98.95% and 125 streak : http://imgur.com/E8XENP3 Int Lead 96.57% and 272 streak : http://imgur.com/d0B720Z Int Rhythm 84% and 108 streak (i fucking hate alternate picking and arpeggios :D) http://imgur.com/2HTfNmR Int Bass 98.6% and 257 streak : http://imgur.com/b39qhUZ MC Lead 85.72% and 139 streak : http://imgur.com/5dO0vE7 MC Rhythm 94.51% and 182 streak : http://imgur.com/BrFRBEj MC Bass 98.09% and 285 streak : http://imgur.com/gRm4n5D

Will Rocksmith support 5 Sting Bass Guitars ?
firekorn replied to Darkphonix's question in Rocksmith Remastered
It's sure that a new RS is in dev since it's how so many studio work on a IP that it only make sense that they are working on a new one. It's how the industry work. About the fact that it won't be a patch is simply due to the ressources needed to change the game (there's poblem with note recognition for the fifth strings of a bass at the moment) so looking back at we had to do to make it work in RS2014 make it likely improbable that it will come as a patch. It's not that it is complicated but RS2014 won't handle it correctly without major work on some part of the game that means manpoer on something they might already trying to correct for the next version. -

It won't in RS2014 for sure, it's a too big modification to be considered as a simple patch especially since they are probably already working on the next rocksmith already and might not want their dev to work on an old game while creating the next one (only minor update to make sure of the stability of the games are made in almost every AAA game). But looking at the fact that we were able to make it possible in RS2014 might alert Ubisoft that it is something people want to have in the game. Looking at the history behind all Ubisoft games it is very rare to loose feature unless they were unwanted by the players that's already a good point, but adding some feature can sometimes be hard but 5/6 strings bass seems realistic enough for me to be able to see it in the next release of rocksmith. -

I think you should find something else than money as an incentive to work on a tool like that, EOF and the Toolkit become what it is today because the people behind wasn't motivated only by money, if you want the tool to be developed, find dev that want to develop it first, then you'll worry about money and such things if nobody wants to work on it it won't go far and will cost you way more money for a result that won't be better and i'm sure that we have some people that are capable of taking the dev of such things. To be short money isn't the right incentive and it has been proven in so many occasion. -
Work with the selection option in EOF you can select note shorter than a certain duration then deselect all chords for exemple. There's already a lot of possibilities in there

Sections not showing in their correct places

notes doesn't fall on beat markers? how do you sync the note? -
I've unlocked a lot of things by playing custom on score attack (almost one unlock by song played).

As you say, it's like a kickstarter in a way, and to be fair, you have to be crystal clear about the money you ask for, what you intend to do with it how much time it might take and all sorts of other information important for the people who donate (Mac version availabel or not for exemple). The problem is that knowing all those kind of information is hard and often not really accurate (who can know exactly how much money will cost a project like that?). So the donations are mostly based on trust and the hardest part here is not money but people who wants to work on it in my opinion. -
If you don't care that much just play and you'll unlock them at one point.

Sections not showing in their correct places
firekorn replied to Cat With A Mustach's question in Rocksmith Remastered
because you shouldn't put section between note... section are part or the song construction and should only be put on the first bar of a measure. -
An extension for the cable either on the USB (with a HUB for exemple) or in the Jack part should not modify the way the cable act, if RS tells you that there is a problem with the output device, you might want to check the audio parameter in the .ini RS file. Set the audio exclusivity on unless you want to record yourself. RS doesn't act correctly with non-onboard audio card, try using RS with the onboard card of your PC. Apart from this maybe try checking RS file with steam because having those issue isn't normal, this message should only pop-up when RS isn't the active software.
-
Always keep your tools up to date. And yeah this is not normal at all. the bar are in the same place whatever the arrangement you're on and moving bars in an arrangement always moves it in all the arrangement this is the way EOF works. The question about Sections as phrases doesn't matter in this case, whatever the answer you choose, EOF will act the same way about the beatmap (which won't change at all during GP import).
-
If you move a beat, it moves in all arrangements in EOF, the fact that it doesn't isn't normal. Can you clarify what you call a "bar" and how do you move it?
-
You can't easily, you should unpack the song, rework with eof to setup the capo, then repack all of it. It's not that hard but ask the author first so that everybody else can enjoy the song correctly before trying to fix everyone's work without any approval.

Looking at all the tutorial available there's some for pretty specific part of the charting process and what you refer to getting the BPM is mostly named as syncing and creating a beatmap. If you have any problem with understanding a tutorial, say it! or the tutorial won't get any better.
-
Writting a tab is a pain in the ass whatever tool you use i prefer to do it with GP for multiple reason and mostly because it is actually made for this and works like a charm but EOF can work for this too. You have to know that you need a perfect beat map in EOF to chart directly in it or it will be a hell of a time to get all things right and since i see many people struggling with beat i seriously think GP is the way to go since all you need is put an approximate bpm then correct everything in EOF according to the song.

There's already some CDLC with backing track (search for multi-track) available around here if you want.

Importing into EOF "Invalid file format" from GPA
firekorn replied to jgrantca's question in Rocksmith Remastered
EOF doesn't support GPX format. You should save it as a GP5 format so that EOF can import it.
