Best rhythm CDLC

code2018

Question

Hey all,

New to Rocksmith, though I've been playing guitar rather un-seriously for years.  I'm really hoping to up my rhythm guitar skills, as I've mostly just played lead type stuff.

I'm not about chugging power chords or just doing the open chord strums, I really like playing songs with a decent bit of movement in the chords (whether it's fast chord switches around the neck or just alternating a couple notes in the chord as you strum). So far the only songs I've really found that satisfy that itch are a handful of Strokes songs.

Any suggestions on CDLCs (or DLCs) with some interesting rhythm parts? I'm pretty open on genres.

Thanks!

Most of what I play is just "chugging power chords", but I'll have a look through my song list to see if there's anything more interesting.

Grindcore/slam is mostly all rhythm even on lead and they have some cool riffs. As long as you can tune down that low. Some good bands are napalm death, go-zen, jig-ai and dehumanising itatrain worship.

Try some prog/djent like periphery, northlane, invent animate and erra since they have some interesting rhythms.

Homicide moon by iosys is very fun on lead and rhythm

Alice in black market by liq has a cool rhythm with lots of octaves and string mutes

Truth ironies the secret lyrics and I'm the seeker by Foreground eclipse are quite fun

Hocus pocus by focus (I think its a dlc song), very fun on rhythm

Greenwich in the sky - Deep P sky by demetori, big recommend

Although if you only have a 6 string you can probably only play the demetori, foreground eclipse, iosys and focus songs since the rest are mostly in drop B/A.

I hope you find some of them interesting.
