Question

So just come back to RS2014 remastered after a couple of years away and its telling me that its not seeing my realtone cable as connected.... aside from the cable has broken somehow whilst in storage has there been any updates on the game or anything that would cause this? Before i have to buy a new cable?? TIA.

P.S. I have updated my system in the last 6 months but not had to reinstall the game, wondering if i need to somehow tell my PC where to find the cable or something, using W11 now. Any help would be appreciated 🙂

updates, yes, about 2 years ago. If it has been more than 2 years, make sure you grab the new enabler. Cause this (real tone cable not being seen), no.

First make sure that the game has access to the cable. Located right at the bottom of the app list, In settings, it's under "Privacy & security" > "Microphone" "Let apps access your microphone".

There maybe other things like needing to re-install the driver and audio exclusive, but try the above first.

Is Windows seeing the cable in device manager?

Check that the quick disconnect on the cable is connected together.

Tab out of the game while the game is running to see if it is in  the Device Manager.

In addition to "Let apps access your microphone" there is also In Microphone settings, go to Choose which Microsoft apps can access your microphone, and turn on apps you want to use with it. For desktop apps, make sure that Allow desktop apps to access your microphone is turned on.

Make sure you have the cable picked as the input device.
Make sure your sound card is set to stereo config. Make sure it is your default record device in the Windows settings, make sure it is set to 48000 hrz.

If your system has USB 2.0 ports, try connecting your Real Tone Cable to these first before connecting to USB 3.0. Try all of your usb ports.

If you are using Bluetooth headphones, or Bluetooth speakers, or Bluetooth anything else, disconnect them for the time being. They can monopolize and cause the cable to not work / be seen.

Adjust your audio levels

Try adjusting your levels for the Rocksmith USB Guitar Adapter:

Right-click on the speaker icon at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

Select "Sounds" and then "Recording" tab.

Double-click the entry for the "Rocksmith USB Guitar Adapter".
This will display as a Microphone device.

Choose the "Advanced" tab.

Change the "Default Format" to "DVD Quality".

Choose the "Levels" tab at the top.

Increase the level to "100".

Choose "Apply", then "OK"
