Followed tutorial from "Oldguylearnsguitar" on youtube to get CDLCs working on mac. It failed. Any ideas?

Ok, so I followed the instructions for mac, but the CDLC songs freeze after selecting them. so I ran the patch again, and now the game crashes on startup, so I went back to steam and Verified the integrity of game files (to reset it), then i was back at square one, CDLC songs freeze when selected. I'm guessing something has changed since the tutorial i followed was made, but I'm struggling to find any resolution. 

Thanks in advance for reading this and im grateful if anyone has found a solution they can share.

Update: 

 

Tried again with the newer patch from here.

Exact same issue.

Make sure the old .dll is removed from running the first try, they conflict with each other.
