  1. ahh my beloved Blind!! as usual my terrible sightreading (the first was the submit long time ago, forgot everything) 🤣 but I want to get this to 97+

I think some rhythm parts are not so easy (quite fast) but rocksmith is very generous on these.

@ Mikson  @ Zoutje  Blind Guardian are underrated, they have always good (dual guitar) lead and acoustic sections, always fun to play

Uuh Metallica, with new songs. I also more on the old Metallica, but hey I never refuse anything from them. 😀

I don't think it's way more difficult than Blind, it's right there for me

Really helpful comment, thanks so much friend! One more question. How would I rate the bass charts? I don't play bass so I have no idea how to rate them. Should I leave them for someone else who is willing to rate them?

For bass you can leave it blank, or if you wanna, you can emulate it with the guitar (I do the same) and then evaluate the difficulty like the guitar but thinking that everything requires more effort on a real bass. My opinion of course 😉

For suggesting songs do I need to rate the songs myself? I find it kinda hard to judge the difficulty myself.

Yes you need to put them here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HzgY90kLwyGqzJ-R64v8lmpeQMMhhxwGwUlenepIgms/edit#gid=6

Don't worry, evaluate the difficulty thinking at the hardest part of the song (i.e. if a song is only power chords but impossible solo, it gets 8 or more anyway)

The person who will do the selection will verify the songs and balance the score

A personal suggestion on how I do it: look at what accuracy you got when you play the song. Seeing that you are similar to me, like masterclass, (but with better sightreading), you can say: if I get 95-99% is intermediate, in the 90%-95% is advanced, from 80% to 90% is mc (7.5-8.5), under 70% is a 9 or 10. Ranges are indicative, just to get you the idea, YMMV

Thanks so much friend. Always lovely to see you on reddit you have some great guitar-playing skills! Hopefully I get it down. Also does some CDLC not have issues where you get 100% automatically? Or are those songs excluded? I have a bunch of CDLC I think where that happens.

Thanks, I'm happy you discovered such a gem like this competition! How did you find about that?
CDLC with dynamic difficulty off (those with 100%) are not excluded, you get the right accuracy. CDLC are verified by the week creator so you'll be fine.

And, don't worry to post multiple times, or to achieve whatever great scores. Just post it when you play a song, even if it is the first time and you played it poorly. If you want get the vibe, look at the past weeks and you'll understand.

Surely you will improve by participating! I understand how it feels a bit confusing when joining the first time because I've discovered the championship only in April 2022, but you will catch on right away.

Somehow I only just found out about this weekly championship. Cool idea! I usually participate in the weekly official song one at reddit but never the CDLC ones. So is this the same as the reddit one, it runs for a week and then new songs get announced with scores posted? I also noticed there are multiple songs here for each difficulty, that is neat! Also from when until when does a week run?

Oh welcome! I'm also on the official song spotlight on reddit (and I remember you!), but here you will find more songs, more people, and I can definitely say a lot of fun!
Rules are a bit complex at first sight, but my advice is to try to play and post scores for a couple of weeks and you'll get it! Look at accuracy, not absolute score (as in the spotlight), post the screenshot pasting the link. Both learn a song and score attack scores are valid (obviously on learn a song with difficulty 100%).

    Enjoy!!

  7. Nice songs, a wide range of very different genres!

And now my poor sightreading in all of its glory 🤣

on this one I must look and review the scale, otherwise I can't catch anything well only reading it 😄

    ?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

song with chords and rhythm are always a blessing

    remembering soundgarden vibes

I'm not familiar with this subgerne

Well, it seems that, not matter the difficulty, my sightread caps at 80% 😄

After three 91%'s in a row this morning, I fear I have hit my cap without going into RR. This has been a really fun song to play all week. I usually don't put so much effort into one song lol. It has been added to my favorites rotation for sure!

lol I RRed this song to death 🤣

I wanted to pay the right tribute to Ayreon (it's just that Galneyrus got in the way 😄 until now), and now I'm satisfied

  9. I spent at least 3 hours on this song this week, but I'm never tired of it! And I got in the 85-90 range (from 67%!), my declared goal. It's also a workout, not only a song 🤣

Solo is too long for me, if I had a couple weeks I can learn it, but I'm not so good at sightreading it so I give up

    ?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

    Also good gains in rhythm

    ?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

ah, this song was part of my teen years, easy but I always liked it, with that deep distortion cut in the medium range.
