  1. I've never heard that song before, but it does sound learnable.
  2. Thanks for the suggestions. Even though I've never cared much for Bob Dylan, Knockin' on Heaven's Door looks like it will be a great song for what I'm looking for. It's easy, and it uses chords I already know and am mostly familiar with (though I never did learn D properly). I'm going to start with that Thanks again for all the suggestions. I think that first one shouldn't take me too long to learn. Then I'll look at the other ones listed.
  3. I was talking to a guy who used to teach guitar. He asked me what my goals were with learning guitar. I hadn't thought about it that way before, but I told him that I wanted to be able to play a song. He said that I should pick a song that I could play on an acoustic with standard tuning. If you're at somebody's house and they want you to play something, they will most likely have an acoustic. With electric guitars, you may not be able to achieve the right sound to play a song right. I like this idea. So I'm looking for a song that I could play on an acoustic with standard tuning. It's got to be fairly simple as I'm a noob. I'd like it to be something that either sounds really nice. Something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_tORtmKIjE Or something that everybody would recognize, like a classic rock song. I'd also like it to be in Rocksmith, as that makes learning it more fun. Any suggestions?
  4. I saw that show in Chicago. Didn't like Metallica when I went, but loved Queensryche. Was blown away by Metallica and became an instant fan. 5. I never know what shows I'm going to see because I never know - until only a couple of weeks ahead of time - if I'll be working or not. I do know that the next festival I'll be going to is ProgPower USA for the 13th year in a row.
  6. I'm pretty sure the first album I ever bought was Aerosmith Live Bootleg. Or that may be the first hard rock album I bought. If so, I probably bought a Beatles album before that (though i can't remember which was first). First concert was called Rockfest at Arlington Park Racetrack in Arlington Heights, IL (suburb of Chicago) in 1982. It had lots of music vendors there (instrument companies, etc.) and the bands included Eddie Money, The Knack, and Girlschool. I was there to see Judas Priest though, on the Screaming for Vengeance tour. I got a killer jersey too. Since it was on Halloween, on the front, the Hellion is carrying a pumpkin and it says, "Trick or Treat Vengeance". On the back, the Hellion is wearing a witches hat and riding a broom and it says, "Screaming for Halloween". (though I may have them reversed) I still have it, but now my wife wears it, and it's almost see-through. :o
  7. I tried to switch to the tab (inverted) view, and just can't do it. I wish I could, but it's like starting all over.
  8. Why do almost none of the CDLCs submitted include the artist name in the subject?
