  1. @@jhespada - I just synced it to the bass and drums, resulting in this EoF file. It's possible that the guitar is much more free form, but at that point it probably just makes more sense to note sync it rather than to try to beat sync to it.
  2. @ - I was just playing around in EoF and managed to get the 3D view to invert by pressing "\" a bunch. Wasn't sure how to get it back for a while, but thankfully I eventually tried Ctrl+\ and got it back . It is kind of easy to get into weird situations by accident.
  3. @ - I fixed a bunch (maybe all?) of the things you mentioned in my version. I also recently (like a few minutes ago) fixed the time signatures (don't import) and added in the harmonics that were missing (from the import?). At this point I think I've done just about everything I can do in terms of polishing. If you notice anything else off, the notes.eof and guitar.ogg files are in the folder so you can add whatever modifications you want on top of mine.
  4. Quick update to The Looking Glass. This is now a shared folder so the link should be stable, and I've included the source files if anyone else wants to play around with it. Most of the changes were to lead, including -Added arpeggios for the prechorus -Added a slide down before the last chord before the verse (which probably didn't import). -Changed the verse riff according to the tab that @@fiddlesticks posted. -Backed the song volume off 3 dB (I find -5 is usually sufficiently loud for modern production) and tone volumes back 1 or 1.5 dB. Haven't tested every one, but hopefully that works reasonably well. I wasn't sure about the PMs, and I don't want to hunt down a few notes in an entire song, so unless you're more specific (e.g. screenshot) or want to change it yourself, that probably won't change.
  5. @@GuitarPlayerMan - The calibration might be different for the different paths, so I'd suggest recalibrating. After you've played loudly, mute the strings but then remove your hand from the guitar, so Rocksmith hears the natural noise your guitar produces. This was able to cut down on the white noise significantly for me, so hopefully it will work for you as well.
  6. Here's my version of The Looking Glass. I put the 5-string bass on rhythm guitar, and normal bass is still on the bass path. Played both bass paths and things are pretty good. On guitar some of the chords are pretty strange (the 466044 chord especially, but the 468 and 469 chords also seem like they could be played more easily), but other than that I think things look pretty good. Time signatures are also pretty out of wack because those don't import. Here's my best go so far on bass. http://i.imgur.com/PGWxKi2.jpg And after learning how to play the main riff, lead: http://i.imgur.com/5BO40oI.jpgI think I have just a bit of room for improvement on the solo.
  7. @@Nacholede - Uh, how were you going to "fix some issues" with it, then? Also, for the source files, all that you need to keep is the notes.eof file, which should only be a couple hundred kilobytes or something like that. The audio you can get from unpacking the .psarc, and then you're ready to go without having to deal with the BS of the Rocksmith import. Getting rid of the source files so that the only updates you can do are tone updates is pretty silly. I tend to keep the guitar.ogg and the .wem file too, but I get rid of all the .wavs and crap like that (and I don't have EoF set to save them anymore since toolkit can just take the .ogg and generate the .wav if necessary).
  8. Played DT so I can relay my advice for @@Nacholede - http://i.imgur.com/eSOfQbq.jpg Definitely missed the green laser beams of imperfectly charted 5-string bass charts (quick check in EoF - select all notes, then press the up arrow on the keyboard to move notes up a string. If they can't move, you have notes somewhere on the highest string, which is bad if you've imported a 5 or 6 string bass tab and want to export it as a bass chart), might have had one or two others. A few other suggestions: MORE SECTIONS FOR THE SOLO!!!!!!!! I didn't even play it on guitar yet, but come on, a minute long section is just ridiculous. I usually do ~every 4 measures. Yeah, it's harder to pass on SA hard, but there's a version without DD and you can actually practice it somewhat effectively. Remember our complaints about Countdown to Extinction's chorus? This is way more annoying.Poor fretboard logic. Yeah, you're putting a 5-string bass chart into 4 strings, so you have to make some compromises, but usually you can find somewhere (A, D, G notes, brief pauses, etc.) to incorporate shifts in to accomodate the new notes, rather than just putting them 7 frets above your current fret hand position. I mean, you can play it as a sweep-tapping arpeggio, but that's a ridiculously specialized technique for bass. There were also some other places that had weird fretboard logic (like play 4-6-7-9-7-6-4 on the same string rather than moving the middle note over a string. It would also be nice the have the actual 5-string bass arrangement. Rhythm track's free, right? If you want me to handle any of these, I should be able to do it. It would be easier if you have the source files, but the bass doesn't have any chords, so I could handle it by unpacking. Edit: And Running Free too: http://i.imgur.com/fafEA3N.jpg I'd probably rate this more as a hard 5 or a 6. There are some pretty tricky parts that require some quick shifting (and/or leaving the way the chart has you play things).
  9. @ - It looks like that also happens on the bass, so you might want to edit your post in the record thread to reflect that as well.
  10. @@SA_JK - I think this is a (unintended?) consequence of the change in version 2-03-2016 to remove sustains from muted (palm or fret hand) notes. @@raynebc - Why exactly did this get updated? I know it doesn't usually make strict sense to have sustains on muted notes, but it also removes the possibility of doing some things in EoF (pick slides and tremolo picked palm muted notes come to mind).
  11. @ - You can also control the zoom by adding sections for riff repeater, and I'd argue that having useful riff repeater sections is more essential than having dynamic difficulty (and doesn't take that much more time to add). @@Chlipouni - Ah, that cache thing might explain why sometimes when I remove DD and set a faster scroll speed it still moves glacially at the beginning of the song.
  12. @ - I noticed you moved up on the leaderboards on Walk This Way. So I played it some more. http://i.imgur.com/P6SQgwf.jpg But that wasn't my best score: http://i.imgur.com/ipYdGfB.jpg :D Also finally some noticeable improvement on MC lead: http://i.imgur.com/MRqBEpN.jpg I still think I should be able to hit 95% or so, but I keep messing something up. Also, somehow I often get purple sections on the tapping despite the fact that I can usually get through both sections with at most 2-5 misses on lead and obviously could do it pretty well on the bass. Kind of weird.
  13. @@Tank-OR - I believe the newer updates of the toolkit (within the past month or so) support pretty much all of the Wwise versions, so the 2014 and 2015 ones should now be safe. I know I've been using a 2014 version for a while (several months at least) without problems, but haven't tried updating to 2015 yet. And yeah, the beta thing is kind of weird. I think they just haven't settled anywhere for long enough that they haven't felt comfortable that it has no bugs to make any one version the stable version again. I think I saw the devs mention that they are going to try to do another stable one soon, but who knows if that will actually happen.
  14. Aand, I did better at MC rhythm. http://i.imgur.com/vA3sPfN.jpg @ - Fite me. Good night.
  15. MC lead: I really don't know how I haven't improved more on this  http://i.imgur.com/VKbQSJt.jpg I think my picking hand abilities are taken to (or past) the limit by this song. I have to think too much about both hands and forget where I am in the different variations. MC rhythm: http://i.imgur.com/V0oFT0q.jpg I played this once shortly after I started playing guitar and was intimidated by all the stretches. Playing it now, it's not actually that bad. There's still a good amount of room for improvement (especially on the overall score, as I didn't hit x50 until the outro, despite having a good shot at it before). Because I like being high on the leaderboard on rhythm.
  16. @@NoonyDeloony - Cool. I was worried I'd have to revoke your title of "World's Coolest Mom". @@MaZtoR - Yup. Didn't back the Kickstarter at a high enough level to access the beta, but honestly, I don't really have any spare time right now, so that's probably a good thing.
  17. @@NoonyDeloony - You forgot Planescape Torment. At least, I hope you forgot Planescape, because if you haven't played it...
  18. @@then3verend - I don't really see why it would be easier to play when moving things a fret up. 12th fret is kind of nice sometimes, but the song is in C and in my opinion nothing would really be changed when playing in Eb. Once I'm away from using open strings most positions are pretty much the same to me until you get way high up on the fretboard. Also, Deth Sentence is probably pretty hard to fit in to the Championship between the bass difficulty (rather low compared to the guitar) and tuning (also rather low). Lastly, you never responded to my question on Practice What You Preach! :sob: Edit: @@missis sumner - with regards to the scroll speed stuff, I've noticed that sometimes with DD songs will start out really slow even if things are fully leveled up. Don't really know why it happens, but the scroll speed changing could be related to that.
  19. @@then3verend - Don't worry, bro, I'll keep him busy on bass. http://i.imgur.com/DXubfBc.jpg Though, yeah, my chances of doing jack in MC guitar has disappeared pretty quickly with the return of you, fripp, and the addition of new people. Should make for some great competition as long as I don't peace out too often, though.
  20. OK, so I released a lot of thrash, and a few Between the Buried and Me songs. For the next few months I'll be pretty busy, so I'll mostly be focusing on finishing up on things I've already started (which includes a few more Kreator tracks, several Iced Earth tracks, one more HeXen track, and one or two more BtBaM tracks). Once those are done, I'll probably mostly be working on adding playthrough videos to songs and doing updates on some of my older stuff that could be of better quality. Playthroughs I might be able to add reasonably quickly, but I'll probably aim for doing 2 or 3 updates a week. I've also added the notes.eof files to the download folders for many of my recent songs, and I'm planning on adding them to most/all of my songs soon. This should facilitate looking at things in EoF if you want to see how I did certain things or modify anything without having to rely on the Rocksmith import (which has some drawbacks, particularly with guitar tracks or anything with more complex time signatures. See here for instructions on how to set things up to use the EoF file.
  21. I'm starting to add the notes.eof file to many of my download folders if people want to modify my customs, use parts of them, see how I did things, or anything like that.

I've only done Extreme Aggression, Swim to the Moon, Disease, Injury, Madness, and Dark Creations, Dead Creators so far.

To use it, download notes.eof and the .psarc. If you import the .psarc package into the toolkit, it will unpack some of the files into a folder. Open that folder, then go to the EOF folder, and put the notes.eof file in. Load in the main .ogg, and you should be good to go!

  22. 1. The "Default" tones in the toolkit don't have an amp or cab defined and break the tone engine. Based on what you're describing, it sounds like you're using the default tones, whether intentionally or not. 2. In EoF, get the green line where you want to set up the tone change (this is usually most easily done by right-clicking on a beat marker). Press Ctrl+Shift+T, then enter the name of the tone you want (this is what you'll have to name the tone in the toolkit). Once you've done this for more than two tones, you'll also have to set a default tone (the tone the game uses when the song begins), which you can do by going to Track -> Rocksmith -> Tone Change -> Names, selecting the one you want to be the default, then pressing default. Once you do this, you'll then need to put a set of tones (usually most easily acquired from other DLC) with the right names (you can rename them, of course) into the toolkit. When you add the .xml file, it should auto-fill the tones used, and they should match the ones in the toolkit. If the names don't match, it will create a default tone with the right name, which you don't want to happen. 3. Here's a link to a lyrics tutorial. The vocals track in EoF is the right one to use, but the pitches don't matter for Rocksmith since it doesn't detect your singing.
  23. @@MJS888 - Sorry, I didn't mean all slides fail to import, just ones that happen in chords, since sometimes different fingers travel different amounts. Anyway, most people don't chart slides well (it often requires changing things significantly from how they import, mostly due to inadequately detailed GP authoring), so I consider most slides to be an indicator that "there is a slide of some sort on this note or one of the neighboring ones) and ignore most of the details with regards to timing, whether it's a slide in or out, or whatever.
  24. @@MJS888 - When you unpack (or import the package. What's left from that seems somewhat more convenient, honestly) you get the .wem so you don't need Wwise, so I'm pretty sure you only need those two programs. A lot of chord techniques get missed because the techniques can apply to only certain notes in the chord. I think palm mutes now survive, but lots of things like unison bends, slides, and things like that will get missed. Also, this post made me realize that it would be pretty easy (at least for me) to include the notes.eof file in the download folder, as on its own it's pretty small. Get the .ogg from unpacking the .psarc and then anyone who wants to edit it has exactly what I used to author it. Probably will try to go through and add it to my download folders for my DLC.
