  1. Ooof...that means its probably gonna be a song id have to cover right? that's gonna be hard to find something doable
  2. https://countingdownto.com/?c=6142126 Ill be hosting this upcoming week in around 4 hours, so make sure to submit your scores and if you have any suggestions for the upcomming week thatd be great aswell
  3. Just wait for tommorrow! I have faith vodka will pull it off
  4. hadnt played this song in ages! forgot i submitted it. yea the bass did seem pretty easy surprised i rated it a 2 ohwell havent heard placebo since 2010s so it was nice to play their song. Has some cool synth grainy/reverby effect on the right ear gave it a second go since i thought i could do better | yea some nostalgia hearing his voice again! Havent heard this new album/ep/single will give it a shot. Part of the solo reminded me of through the fire and the flames but maybe thats just me. will be hard to practice the solo since im not a solo guy some cool parts here! who knows if ill give it another try though..my brain just wanders off when the songs are long.Chorus reminded me of if i could fly from helloween only cause of the lyrics ...mostly just cause of the word fly but whatever i like that song.
  5. aah ok that explains why i didnt recognize it. The only clon i know is star wars episode II attack of the CLONes or a french rock band called Klone
  6. Subele el volumen de la voz!!! Sin pena jaja very cool. Whenever I hear whispering in spanish reminds me of The marias...eventhough they are from LA but close enough. you're gonna have to take my mexican card away from me since I have no clue who jose alberto is lol.
  7. yeah i really liked the way you processed the guitars, especially on the arps. It also made me realize that the arps in the song sound a bit similar to metallicas intro in the day that never comes. I don't really listen to metallica or the beatles but that is one of the few metalica songs I enjoy (i think its just 2 frets higher). Would have loved to hear the vocals more forward in the mix but it does give the song more of a relaxed vibe the way you did it. Will be interesting to see in future covers if you put a more prevalant vocal layers or not. Great job for giving your own take in such short time, learning how to record in a daw by yourself and being able to upload to sc!
  8. says track has been removed?
  9. There's a massive sale for dlcs right now on steam! I would highly reccomend you guys check it out if you are interested in buying some
  10. Hmm odd, I have never had any issues with soundcloud. But then again ive only posted original works or remixes (reimagined works/ usually only using only like the vocals or drums) . What exactly does it say when you upload it? Does your cover contain the original audio file? thats the only thing i can think off. Perhaps the algorithm is detecting that its the beatless since you are using it as a base. If this is the case my guess is youll also have similar issues on yt . Just share via google link drive like robolechuga mentioned. There you wont have to deal with copyrights lol.
  11. gave them all another go cause i liked them yea i think you did a goodjob putting it in beginner. It is only like 2 different sections and then the modulation so it should be fine. I am just not used to using my pinky that much but thats the good things of trying new songs. makes you practice the stuff you arent used to fun idk what im doing wrong with the intro riff but it likes to miss alot of notes for somereason and then hameron pulloff detection is hard but I'll still try later this week. Still really love this song and imo still holds up 21 years later. There was a time when I was afraid I'd never see them live but luckily its still a thing. Now its just a matter of waiting and going.
  12. Last week was pierce the veil tho not gag ? but sure i understand hahah So the picture with the blue notes that you took is actually a good example of fhps/anchors not done manually/properly. Short explanation: the cdlc could use an update Long explanation for something you might not care for : Bad fhps/anchors (the highlighted blue zones on the fretboard ingame) can cause first sight reading to be a bit jarring or confusing. The same riff later has the more "correct " anchor point as shown here: 7 and ends at 10. Meaning you would be using your first finger to hit the blue (since its the first highlighted bar) and your pointer /2nd finger on the red 8. and so on.. I also use pinky on 10 yellow and then when its close to playing the 8s just bar both strings with middle finger. Maybe if they placed handshapes could make that a bit more obvious. Meanwhile the one in the riff before (your pic) is 5 - 9 implying you to use your pinky and ring finger for red and blue (which is not economical and I personally would not recommend to play it this way). Usually the automatic fhps do an ok job if you put lots of sections (since you have to have one at the start of a section) . However since theres not that many sections thats why the fhps are a bit wonky. Both done manually will usually lead to best results but can be more time consuming to make. fhps/anchors are very subjective but if its the same riff with the same context before or after the riff it should have the same handspots imo to make it easier to read/play.
  13. @ Rodman thanks for the charts! any possibility of having like a combined cdlc? Like have the bpm start slow and increase by 10bpm each X amount of times? EDIT i didnt notice you kinda have that on 2 execises just not all of them. this one seemed really mechanical ? lol seems very fast ill be surprised at someone who can 100% it. i think it would help if throughout the song youd put what is the new bpm and the click track/metronome is pretty low or sometimes sounded like it only played the first beat which i found a bit odd. more sections just so its more clear what repeats would be nice aswell. seems like i need to practice 140+. good practice thanks both of you @ Daz40 and @ Rodman for these exercises! very helpfull
  14. thanks for the week @mikson ! this amorphis one seemed pretty tough but it does repeat alot so i was able to kinda learn the melody by th end even though it does modulate to another key, did find it harder than the gangsta one tho? but maybe thats cause in fear and faith is more the type of music i liked/played will be fun practicing this bb song this week! that was tougher than i expected lol
  15. practiced it a bit. I probably couldve gotten it higher if i played more through out the week, just got a bit busy
  16. Looks like imma have to practice alot to reach @ Mikson s 96%!!
  17. I dig the acoustic interpretation of it!! when you said do africa as a cover i was kinda hoping you'd suggest easier songs to cover ngl. Reminded me of the first time i heard the acoustic version/interpretation of overkill on scrubs. covers are always interesting imo when they are distinct. Used to love when a record company was doing punk goes x (pop/80s/crunk/acoustic). Some were more decent than others. I do wanna know the full lyrics at 2:20 to 2:42 though of your cover..anyways thanks for sharing!
  18. Seems like you pretty much nailed the song with 99% tho congrats! Here i did a quick edit of the Pierce the Veil song with more sections. feel free to use it (anyone reading aswell). https://drive.google.com/file/d/1i-cDFtvAnNzO7Ug2fQ2BJeHuh1VmCRdt/view?usp=sharing (should be slightly more practiceable with the added sections although there's more that could be done honestly) You were on one of the right paths of fixing it (there's always multiple ways to "fix" or do something). 1-the best would obviously be that the charter would update it. But iirc lil ramen got busy with life. 2-the second is by doing it manually your self (like you were doing) So I'll give you some tips: download dlc builder and make sure you have those boxes ticked in the settings menu. This will make fixing charts easier and you will only have to do this once. Drag the cdlc into dlc builder. Now open up the new project in eof. It will no longer be across multiple tabs aka dynamic difficulty ( the ones with numbers and stars on them (if it has a star it means it has notes)) All the notes of a path will soley be in one tab. Once you select the path with notes you would probably want to delete the sections/phrases since they might be placed in odd spots beat- Events - clear all events this will remove all phrases and sections or you can choose which sections you want to delete by going (top bar menu) beat-events -all events- *here you select the phrase/section you want to delete*- delete 2 a) Theoritically you could just save and rebuild the psarc now. Dlc builder has an automatic option if no phrases are in the project which will allow more places to practice. 2 b) If you want more specific/ precise sections select the arrow with the bar number - press shift s- select one of the names on the list like in your pic. If the names are blue that means there are no notes in that section, it will turn green if there are notes. make sure create phrase is also ticked. Repeat the above untill you filled the chart with sections -> save and rebuild the package. --- 3 The other option is doing it via cfsm. here you would put repair cdlc or remove dd...i dont remember since i dont really use it but that would be the quickest in theory.. Last but not least if you ever get lost in any of those steps you can always ask someone on customsforge Discord channel. There's lots of active creators there who are more knowlegdable in these areas, you would just need to type in #creators or in #eof
  19. yup that 99% was really hard to get and perfectly valid. jk The automatic system just picked up my weezer score, should be fixed now (I made that score invalid in react and added my score manually) thanks for pointing it out! EDIT:ok i fixed @ johnal s score aswell since it automatically puled his score from the exercise
  20. Very nice cover!! Always loved paramores vocals and it always surprises me that hayley started that band when she was 16. Your daughter has a great timbre for rock music! Would love to see if shes sang more songs now that shes more experienced.
  21. I did this guide for anyone who is bored feel free to read . maybe it can help people be more aware of issues in charts/ have less charts being submitted in the suggestions list with potential errors Its kinda long but i thought i should explain it as much as possible for anyone who isn't aware of the things.
  22. Here is the link to some guidelines that i think will benefit both participants and hosts when submitting or selecting a suggestion I admitidly haven't followed all of them but I think it doesn't do much harm setting up something that can help us in the future. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VAL-Fip8W2-het4ppsgpa3BH3dNfCY5U9R-c-NTNcFw/edit?usp=sharing Posting it via link so it will be easier to modify if any issues Will help experience of the week And might make random functions a bit more pleasant/ less time for hosts to test multiple songs? if i missed anything or if anyone is in disagreement please let me know
  23. Songs like these make me wonder why i'm in masterclass heh. I'd give this a 4.5 maximum if it were a cdlc done properly, since again like bass, its just a chord progression that repeats non stop. But intermediate and not begginer cause most begginners dont really do fingerstyle (although i think its something that they should practice / it might be easier for them) I think the cdlc would benefit from a rework cause the chords are currently not so obvious at first glance/positioning. Same with lead path, they couldve combined paths to make it more entertaining or done a vocal path. Had tested it before and didnt pick it cause yea, not a fan seems a bit lazzy imo but owell. I do like the song though, probably one of my favorites of pop songs that year. Pretty easy song however I think the lack of sections would make it a pain to practice. ptv
  24. Bass play tests: i played them yesterday so i dont remember 100% Thanks Rodman for the week! classic toto song! to me it seemed harder to 100% first try just cause of the higher riffs at the end, but im happy with harder stuff in intermediate. the rest of the song is pretty simple so i guess i understand. yea fun! the only path iliked from the cdlc. I'd personally give it a 5 or even lower, just cause its just one progression that repeats almost all song and then it goes an octave lower and doesnt seem too technical. but maybe thats just me. seemed pretty easy but yea gl to those who dont use a pick. I goofed up on a wrong fret on the long streaks so i probably missed a ton that i shouldnt have.
