I still can't make it through Fishbone Date Rape on score attack. Are the screens I'm posting actually admissible? Technically, I get the same screen if I exit after playing the whole song on RR at a slower speed. I doubt that I am at any risk of winning this week's coveted bragging rights, so it isn't worth violating the loophole (in a song about date rape - ewww!). Score Attack scores, like that, always count -- even if you get X's. Unless you strike out with 3 X's, anyway. Sometimes people use Dynamic Difficulty Creator and have it automatically generate really short sections (sometimes a section with only 1-2 notes), and then if you miss any at all in those sections it will hit you with an X. If you ever run into a song like that, you can fix it by redoing the DD yourself in the toolkit with longer sections (or just pipe up in here and I or somebody else will fix it!). Thanks Dan. That's good news, because after taking a day off, the exact same malware decided to interrupt my day and re-install a half dozen programs. Even after uninstalling each of them (again) it wouldn't allow me to download alternate AV programs. So my drive is getting wiped and I'm stuck working on a loaner tablet. I won't be able to re-install RS until Monday night. So that score will have to stand as my submission for this week. BTW, is it possible to install RS for PC without Steam, in case I want to play when not connected to the web? BTW2, is is possible for malware to piggyback onto or inside of CDLC? Some of the file sharing sites seem pretty sketchy.

I might not be able to play this week. The laptop is at the spa for a relaxing malware cleanse and I'm spending much of what would usually be practice time building myself another bass. By the end of the week I may be able to post a 'zero percent preventer'.

the screen shot is on Imgur. Do I need to click the green [publish] button? there are 6 slightly different links on the left side of the screen in Imgur. Which do I use? The [image] button in the Reply To This Topic window is still not allowing either [OK] or [Cancel] This is more difficult than the damn song.

I tried the [Link] button and the [image] button, both had the same result.

Did I miss a memo on some change in how to post links to screen shots on Steam? The dialog box looks different and asks for "anchors". I am unable to click either [OK] or [cancel] and the only way to close the window is to close the whole browser. Alternately, was my vacation better than I thought and I'm just doing something stoopid? BTW, on Starstruck bass, I'm up to Accuracy or 94.15% with a longest streak of 127

I'm back this week and struggling through Starstruck (adv bass). Even on RR at 80% speed, I still get 20+ missed notes. At full speed I only have 90% accuracy. I'm just not fast enough. On the other hand, I have all week to fix it.

back in high school (35 years ago - yikes!) i bough an electric guitar and practice amp at a pawn shop, and learned a few songs from a fake book for the Bowie album Ziggy Stardust & the Spiders from Mars. I never really practiced enough to get good and put it away totally when I started university. For Christmas 15 months ago I bought "the kids", including me RS for the PS3. I bought them an cheapo electric guitar and built myself one from a kit. Last summer, I built a bass from a kit and have been playing that while my guitar gathers dust. So over the last while, I'll play RS or work on scales or exercises for at least an hour most days. I got the PC version of RS a couple of months ago, when I found this site. Now maybe it's old fashioned and nerdish of me, but outside of the Championship, I only download CDLC for which I have an existing LP or CD. Greg

Another few tries on Hotel Cali bass and another slight uptick. This is on the newer version. Either of those versions ^^^ should fix those issues, so try and see if you get about the same accuracy with either of them. (If you need another platform like Mac let me know) I don't know about that. I'm afraid that if I get scored fairly my score will take a swift kick to the pants. It's only points, so I'll give it a try. Hmmm, had a drink, played worse, scored higher and made that last red X go away. Go figure. I can believe the longest streak bit because of the string of 8th notes at the end, but I'm not buying the accuracy number. However, the challenge has not choice but to accept what RS tells us.
