  1. What version of the game are you using, Did you put the downloaded cdlc into the DLC folder, Is the game installed in the normal default C: drive directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rocksmith2014\dlc) or on another partition / drive, Did you accidentally try installing the enabler into a backup folder or directory, can you see the D3DX9_42.dll in the Rocksmith folder? Are you using a filter or a favorites list? I am sure I have forgotten a possibility.
  2. It isn't a dumb question. (If you consider that it has already been discussed in this very thread already... Then you may have an arguable point). However, if you scroll back through this post, even the previous page you will see the same questions and answers. The enabler makes a change to the program and installs the .dll therefore Windows Defender et al see it as malicious. You have to make that decision if to do so. You can go back to page 40 after reading the previous page to this page for a better in depth answer.
  3. Not on PC, as you said Cherub Rock is no longer available and the new enablers do not require an Official DLC. As for the rest, that is the jist of it. You might want to make a sub folder in the DLC folder for CDLC to keep it organized if you do decide on any Official DLC, but that is purely a personal choice and not required.
  4. This is an assumption. I am assuming that it is crashing because you are using the beta with the patch that you chose. Again, I am not a Mac user, it be best to get real help from a Mac user, or the patch Dev to get actual answers. Try bringing your Rocksmith version to the current version and try that with the proper patch.
  5. Maybe @ Phantatsy is able to decipher your crash log that you posted for us. I am unable to locate that exception code 0x0000000000000001, 0x00007ff7ffe1a9b0 at the moment, and honestly I can not read hex.
  6. Ok, to me it sounds like you have the wrong patch installed if it is working without cdlc, but every cdlc stalls on the tuning. I am reading this as it is locking up the game at the amps, and not exiting out and crashing. Best to try to find one of the wizards like Hikikomori or another Mac user who can help you.
  7. Nope. Still there. Just to make sure there wasn't a wormhole or rip in the space time continuum, I just checked and played Creep on mine. Yep. I mean, possibly. Most likely culprit is you accidentally or inadvertently selected a Sort Filter, like favorites. Start there first. Actually has happened frequently to other peeps where people have had tracks just "disappear". Above is the usual culprit though as I said. For 2014 songs you can go to the library page, select the DLC page, make sure that the song(s) in question are not un-ticked (check marked). Select, re-selecting the missing songs has in the past worked for other people in the past. Another solution is to verify files. There are more drastic solutions if those do not work, but I do not suggest doing that/those yet, as more than likely it is just a sort / filter issue.
  8. Ok, that now leaves the question if you again remove Back In Black, does it work again. It is possible that CDLC became corrupted. It is possible it is just coincidence. I am not a Mac user so I am limited on what I can do for you.
  9. Did the base game work after verifying files, before trying CDLC
  10. Some days you sound like you are my twin. I am still using my first one like Blue said, but unlike Blues, my original cable is starting to show its age. I have tried to be gentle with mine, but eh, you know. it has a crackle every now and again that is still tolerable as well it is susceptible to interference. It depends how rough one is on the cable. They do wear out like any other cable. Some people are careless, some people are rough on the cable. The more times it is plugged / unplugged, stepped on, yanked on, had the quick disconnect yanked apart. I did buy another spare recently from Amazon. The one that showed up was DOA and would not work. I returned it for another one. All personal preference. I personally think you have enough cables now but I have a feeling you will pick up yet another one.
  11. You can not by pass the Ubisoft log in. You have to hit escape a couple times. With RSmods you can skip the intro. I believe you have to be using a SSD, I think you need a fast enough drive to use that particular mod for it to work. https://customsforge.com/index.php?/topic/64715-how-to-cut-intro-of-rocksmith/ https://github.com/Lovrom8/RSMods
  12. Go back to page 40 on this thread and read forward from there.
  13. I had this problem recently on a laptop. Dual drive laptop, both hard drives are nearly identical, as cloned with the exception of what the background is so that I know what drive that I am on. On the drive I had been using the cable worked in every USB slot. When I put Learn and Play on the second drive, the usb slot on the left of the laptop would not recognize the cable within Rocksmith even though it was showing and functioning in Windows and functioned perfectly fine using the other drive. There are a lot of different things that can be causing your situation. If you have any Bluetooth items, unplug them for the moment until you figure out the cable. Often Bluetooth interferes with exclusivity. If you have any other USB items, unplug those for the moment as well until your cable shows in game as well. If you have any other microphones, disable and or disconnect those as well, particularly if you are using headphones with a built-in mic. (Frequently external speakers mess with exclusivity and the cable as well) With in settings, go to Privacy, Microphone and make sure "Allow Apps To Access Your Microphone" is selected and to Yes. There was an update that switched it to Off / to No.
  14. First step is to use the "Request CDLC" link above; https://ignition4.customsforge.com/wishlist. Keep in mind that there are currently over 4,000 current requests on the Wishlist. Just because you wish it doesn't mean it will happen. You could also add a commission to your request in hopes that it will motivate a chart creator to make it for you. Second step is to Please do not create threads requesting CDLC.
  15. Please use the wishlist ; https://ignition4.customsforge.com/wishlist to request a cdlc. Please do not make threads to do so.
  16. No, it is not required anymore. In order to use the CDLC you need the enabler to inject the .dll.
  17. I should have thought of it before, because it can be easily confused. Especially when crossing libraries over drives.
  18. No judgement here, and I would have never thought to think that someone accidentally was looking in a backup. New thing to add to my list of possible questions. As long as it is working now. Again, no judgement from me.
  19. Do you have only one D3DX9_42.dll in the Rocksmith Directory? Having 2 will cause problems. Do you put the CDLC in the DLC folder or subfolder of the Rocksmith Folder? No, but it can cause problems, and is for only some people that it does. I suggest trying what this person did in this post: 2 other people have said that this has helped them.
  20. I can not answer the question you asked, DD is supposed to be added to all charts per rules, but not all people follow the rules. What I can do is offer you this; You can use Custom Forge Song manager to fix DD; https://customsforge.com/index.php?/topic/55347-dynamic-difficulty/ https://ignition4.customsforge.com/tools/cfsm
  21. Is Windows Defender or an antivirus doing that? Try disabling them to run the enabler or to drop the .dll into the folder.
  22. Do not forget to re-enable any antivirus, firewall, windows defender, etc that you disabled.
  23. You are going to have to give more information. Are you getting an error message, how are you trying to put the .dll file into the folder, are you putting it into the Rocksmith 2014 folder in the Steam directory, is your Steam folder on the C drive, etc etc?
