  1. Ok, so walk us through what you did (or maybe didn't) do. When you reinstalled, did you try the base game alone without any cdlc or any mods to see if the base game was working? Are you using any mods? Did you use a file or the CDLC installer? Have you tried verifying the game files? Is there only one D3DX9_42.dll in the root directory of Rocksmith? What size is it? Is it crashing on a particular song? the same song?
  2. Agreed, but not to be pedantic, the reason I stated as such OP did not say they ran the CDLC enabler or what / where, just that "replaced the file". One can assume a lot of things by this general wording. They stated they patched the cdlc, not Rocksmith after adding the file.
  3. Usually means that you are using the wrong version of the file. Not always the case, but usually is.
  4. Does the game work as it is supposed to before adding cdlc and / or the cdlc fix? Has the game worked in the past? Has cdlc worked in the past? What changed since then? (Your account says that you have been a member since Oct 2023.) Usually what you described happening, "it just sits me between the amps" is indicative of no (cdlc).dll installed or the wrong .dll. Go to the Rocksmith 2014 folder, see if the D3DX9_42.dll is in that folder (same folder as Rocksmith2014.exe typically C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rocksmith2014) and what size the .dll is if it is in that folder.
  5. Joke: It is roadwear, people are now spending good money for a roadworn finish. Not Joke; It is difficult to say from a photo and not having it in my hand to say for certain, but appears to me a scuff from say rubber or someone's belt. You will want to be very gentle in trying to remove it. There are different ways to do so. If it is not a transfer scuff but actual damage to the finish you can and will make the damage worse. Try gently using a dab of dish soap, a SLIGHTLY damp cloth. Try it on the ivory colored binding first to not damage the blue portion. If soap works, try the blue, gently. If that does not work, try a dab of toothpaste and a soft cloth, say micro fiber cloth, and again just do there on the binding first as to not damage the blue. try GENTLY so to not damage the clear coat or go into the blue. IF it comes off, gently try the blue. There are other compounds like Nufinish that can gentle buff it out, but keep in mind that it is an abrasive, but tooth paste is an abrasive also. Use a wax after wards, again with a soft cloth.
  6. This is not the way to requests songs. Please use the wishlist, the link is above "Request CDLC"
  7. Please. You might be by some strange chance the only person right now to have this happen, but I doubt it. I also doubt you would ever be the only one in the future. As you said, I am sure it will be of help to someone, and helps us understand, no matter how silly the answer might seem. It is often the small things get overlooked. i9-12900KF - doubted it was the processor as it works in Win10 and the newest .dll addresses the 32 thread cpu problem. I am assuming this double boot is on the same hdd/sdd? Is it possible for you (do you have a small drive not being used?) to make a Win11 install on a drive by itself as a test? Say installing Win11 on another drive, adding only Rocksmith 2014, and see if a complete bare bones install allows the game to run? Then go from there adding Scarlett if it does? Then so forth to see what the conflict is? If a bare bones Win11 does not work, then you know that is where the issue is, the OS. If not you can work from there, eliminating the possibility of the dual boot being an issue, or a Win11 issue, then adding items to see what causes the crash.
  8. Has been asked several times already. Currently there are no plans to allow such.
  9. Um, that is kinda why that was my first suggestion. You are not the first to have done that. Glad you got it resolved, and an extremely easy fix.
  10. Doesn't sound like it. Possibly, as it should have worked. However, you are not the first one to have said recently that cDLC is not appearing in game. The first thing I would check, within the game / while playing the game, check your filters, see if it set to show all, that you do not have a playlist selected or only favorites selected. It is possible that you did not actually put them into the proper dlc folder with in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rocksmith2014\dlc folder, or where ever your Steam is installed. Maybe you have it installed on a D drive, or you just placed it in the wrong folder. I know you said already you double checked. $%^# happens. If that is kosher, go into the Rocksmith 2014 program folder and check to see if the D3DX9_42.dll is installed there. (the install date of whatever day (yesterday, today, 2 days ago, etc etc) you ran the enabler). It is possible that a) the enabler did not over write the old .dll, or b) it did not actually install in the correct folder. Then we will work from there if either is the case or it still is not working.
  11. You do not need to convert anything. The tool is to copy the base songs from the original Rocksmith to Rocksmith 2014 so that they are available and playable in Rocksmith 2014. If you do not have the original Rocksmith, it will do nothing. Don't Fear The Reaper was a DLC song. It is completely unavailable, it delisted.
  12. September of 2022. That shouldn't have affected or deleted a profile. Does the Rocksmith page in your Steam Library say that the cloud is synced? I am assuming something happened where there was something in the sync and your profile was erased, but that is an assumption. If you have the ability to log into a different machine you should be able to see if it pulls your profile from the cloud, but again, I am assuming it has already been deleted.
  13. Is this a new computer? Have you used the game before on this computer? PC or Mac? What OS? Do you have another computer at the moment that you can use, or have used before to test on? (I know not everyone does, but if you do it maybe helpful to diagnose the problem.) Did something happen recently to the computer or game right before this happening? Did you accidentally delete your profile from the computer or the Steam cloud?
  14. You have the ability to hide the creator Ubisoft when you do searches. Doing so though will hide songs that have not yet delisted. Having the songs in the database is also for reference. I am not sure I know anyone that can remember all 1500+ songs that were offered as DLC from memory. Allowing them to be searched is easier than reading through a list.
  15. If the Flight simulator is on Steam, it should not make a difference, IF it is set to only Rocksmith in the Task manager, it SHOULD only effect Rocksmith. I can not promise anything, and again as I said previously, I can only go by that which I have read. The current enabler / dll as I said is supposed to handle the 32 thread cpu as the post / member you referenced above was able to get theirs to work with only needing the enabler. Again, as long as you got it working, and thank you for letting us know. It helps us help others.
  16. While you are welcome to try that (if it works, let us know) you shouldn't have to with the current enabler/.dll as it is set to work with 32 cores, and you shouldn't have to mess with any of that. Either way, let us know what works for you.
  17. If you had the PC version it is tied to your Steam account. I do not see how it would not be. Hopefully you know your log into Steam, and the Email that is tied to your Steam account (along with passwords). If you are having difficulty with that, you can get support help, start here: https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/3944-4D89-1B3E-27DE it provides info and direction on your Steam account recovery. All you will have to do from that point is (re)-download it directly from Steam. Once you bought it, it is yours. If you do know all the pertinent info to log in to Steam or re-claim your Steam account, just go to your library and download it to the current pc that you are using. Although it is delisted, it is still in your library, along with any DLC that you purchased. Obviously you remembered your log in info for here. If it is the cable that you are missing, it is easily replaceable. most places have been charging around $25 for many years, and it is still hovering around that price. Amazon is an easy source for the cable. I believe that the same cable is maybe now marked Rocksmith + but I am pretty sure that it is the same cable and or compatible. As far as the crazy scalper prices, there are still a few places selling new copies of the game. No one can control the pricing, and vultures and blood suckers exist. You will have to use your best judgment. A couple people have pointed out Amazon, and a couple forum users have reported back using Amazon with success. I have a seller booked marked that is currently at $65. it has gone up by about $12 over the past week. I do not see why you would need to purchase a new copy if you already had a Steam account / Pc version as there was no way to install the game without a Steam account. It has been that way since the beginning when I bought my copy over a decade ago. Best of luck to you, I hope you are able to sort this out and best of luck in rebuilding.
  18. Okey Dokey. The next question should have been "Does it work now", but I am assuming it doesn't. I have to ask instead, "Where did you get that one?". Reason I ask is, the one you have in your screen shot is 2,418 kb. About 20x too large. It should only be 117kb. Edit: I'm going to add this now as it will be a few hours before I return to check this thread. That .dll size does not match any of the previous versions. Delete it, Go back to page 45, find the link in those posts on that page, download the correct .dll from that link that Nick provided that is on that page. Place that .dll in that same folder of the screenshot above.
  19. The installer should have installed a file named D3DX9_42.dll in this directory. I do not see it in your screen shot.
  20. Ok, for starters, the enabler is an installer. You have to run that which will install the file that allows Rocksmith to run the cDLC.
  21. If he is using Windows the latest installer does not require a oDLC. (Refer to your Nov 23 post.) Would need to verify as you said if the installer was run, and if it put the .dll in the main folder that has the rocksmith.exe, and that the cdlc was indeed put into the DLC folder.
  22. Steam Deck Compatibility (when clicked on Store page "Unsupported": "Valve's testing indicates that Rocksmith 2014 Edition - Remastered is Unsupported on Steam Deck. Some or all of this game currently doesn't function on Steam Deck" (with note; "Valve is still working on adding support for this game on Steam Deck") As the game is no longer available for digital download, I would not hold your breath on the "still working on adding support" and chalk it up to a "no".
