  1. Couple tries in this week even with being out of town. Time to get back to my normal schedule and regular mediocrity. --Wren
  2. Out of town next week so we'll have to see how that turns out.
  3. Guess it's going to be a bit before my hands are back in shape, plus working on technique quite a bit. Blah blah blah, insert excuse number 4 here. Let's see what I can do when I have a week to practice. --Wren
  4. I expect my scores to go down a bit for a while, working on fixing some technique issues to reduce some strain. Not that they were amazing to start. Later all! -Wren
  5. It's a G&L Tribute JB-2, was looking for a jazz bass that didn't have all the shellac feel to the neck. those just feel to sticky for me and found this one to fit the bill perfectly. What is it? Looks very similar to mine :)
  6. Alright all the crazy work hours are over. And new bass, even finished the setup tonight. Was able to pick a bass that was exactly what I wanted, hooray. And to top it off got 100% on the intermediate track this week. So Here's the guitar porn. And the score, next week I'll have time to do more than one track. Thanks for all participants and all you peoples working behind the scenes. --Wren
  7. not much practice time this or last week, but after friday should be back to normalish. http://i.imgur.com/5h4ypGp.jpg
  8. And it looks like it might be a guitar week this week, while I let this heal up a bit, maybe it will heal fast though, but at least I squeezed out another 3%.
  9. Welp, I was doing quite well in improving on Perfect's bass part, then I had a small blister issue. But I'll give it a couple more goes this morning. It was definitely more fun than the Jackyl bass part for me this week. @@Fandaru , thanks for the guitar porn, it's my second favorite kind after clown maybe. . . .
  10. Well here goes the bass, had technical difficulties with the intermediate guitar, got one playthrough and it down leveled then crashed everytime I went into it, I'm sure it's something to do with my side.
  11. I'm not able to practice for long at the moment, but hopefully after more tests from the doctor we can figure out what's going on. At least here's a bass run for the week.
  12. Seems that when on vacation with the wife, she can't stand repetitive guitar practice on the same riff over and over again for some reason. On the other hand bass just fine.
  13. I swear I'm only in Intermediate Lead because I was a bad person in a past life or something. Got sick of screwing up the very first part of the song, so just forced my way through a playthrough. And Bass
  14. Welp no scores from me this week, ended up bedridden for the past 3 days from a kidney and prostate infection. All the pain, nausea and vomiting with none of the fun of getting it from wild sex parties. On meds for the next month, rock on! But at least I'm upright again, give me something to play horribly this week! --Wren
  15. Alright there's the last minute. Good news I won't be getting out of intermediate anytime soon.
  16. Not much practice time last week, and going to be bad this week too. But vacation coming soonish! Keep up the good work all. Lets see if I can squeeze out a little more on the bass before I go to work. --Wren
  17. Got it heavily played and slightly mistreated, so got a great deal. Took it a part, gave it a lot of cleaning and some polish. A little love made it look much much better. Trying to find a truss rod cover for it. And then I just have to fix a gash in the back, think I'm probably going to leave the gash, but stain it to keep it better preserved. C'mon - you know the drill. Where are the pictures? :) (Edit - Of the bass not your fingers!)
  18. New bass for this week! Not used to it yet, but hell of a lot of fun on this tune. I'll update the score tomorrow night, kinda blistered my fingers a little this week with the new toy and all. And I think I can improve this a bit more as well. Pretty sure I can get worse as well, but we'll go with the improve. --Thanks for keeping the championship going all!! Wren
  19. Same on my MIM Fender Jazz. I can tune it down to D or even lower but some notes stop registering no matter what. I'm considering buying the shift pedal too. Have you tried playing with headphones so you don't get to hear notes from the bass? Yup and it does help a bit, and remember this is coming from a whiny old guy, but the pressure from the headphones makes the cartilage in my ears ache. It's a cool little micro pedal though. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016O5NDKS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
