  1. I didn't get to mention it last week, but welcome back! Good to see a familiar name back again!
  2. Some bass Not usually a huge Megadeath fan, but I quite like this one. When I read the chart this one looks pretty easy, but the string skipping on bass throws me for some reason. I'll get that riff down yet...
  3. The bonus arrangements show up when there are two arrangements for the same class. The bonus song is just for bragging rights and doesn't affect the leaderboards. The past few weeks @SpankNass has been in the beginner bass class, unless I missed a requested level up. Looks like the start of a good rivalry!
  4. That sounds good to me. Such a good song, nice to have it around for 2 weeks.
  5. Just a few notes for this week: If you have problems downloading The Ballad of Serenity let me know. It was orphaned so I put it into Ignition so we could play it. I've never done that before, so let me know if there are issues. It is a fun and easy piece, and great if you liked the show Firefly. The other thing to look out for is the Megadeth song on bass is pretty easy to get a high percentage due to note density. I almost rated it a 4 to prevent undesired leveling up, but there are a few sections that are hard enough to rate the song a 5. The Richard Marx song is a really good one for practicing arpeggios in a chord shape. It is on the slower side so it gives you a bit to get your hand position set. I would recommend beginners take a stab at it. Rock on!

  7. I have been slacking on bass lately. Putting few more triesw.
  8. new week coming in about 30 minutes!
  9. I could see them and entered them into the leaderboard.
  10. Some people have been know to play a song 30 times in a week The close weeks that spark a bit of back and forth are the most fun to me, and the competition certainly makes you practice harder. Some aren't as into that and don't chase the scores so much.
  11. I didn't realize I hadn't posted anything. The weeks seem to go by so quickly these days.
  12. You are too good, you should take it as a complement!
  13. A bit of a breakthrough....my fingers don't feel so dumb
  14. I couldn't get this screenshot to enter it into the spreadsheet. If you are using imgur, you can just past the direct link in and the forum will resolve it and embed the image.
  15. Such a good riff... I can't believe this chart, but they are valid ways to play those chords. They make me feel like a total beginner again tho. Would like to spend more time with this one
  16. Hotel California gets my vote. Going to have to learn some fingerstyle for the intro.
  17. @Rodman Here is my recording of Country Roads. Funny story, I learned the chords in the key of A, (A F#m E D progression). Independently I plucked out the melody from a MIDI file. I worked it out to play in a nice little box on the 7th fret with no shifting and recorded it. I went to lay my background rhythm chords down and found my keys didn't match! I had to relearn the chords in a D Bm A G D progression. This is all recorded on my PRS. I don't really know how to EQ things yet, and I struggled mightily to get the rhythm part so it wasn't competing with the lead, I think since they are both in the same octave. Adding a touch or reverb to both tracks helped quite a bit.
  18. The upload space is very limited on the forum, so I don't recommend using it. Some people put links from their Steam album, but I prefer uploading the screenshots to a photo sharing site like Imgur and pasting the links to the pictures in the post that way. All of the screenshots show up in the post without clicking on any links that way.
  19. I meant to comment, your little noodling solos are really sounding good. The fit in with the song and don't feel like something thrown in. Nicely done! I'll be getting mine recorded soon. I have a new microphone coming tomorrow that I may try.
  20. Bends are becoming a nemesis for me now that I can do them half the time. I'm going to have to work on that. Can't play it, but wow I have some respect for that guitarist.
  21. @meelo and @Rodman I didn't know there was a club. Glad to be a part of it, but now I can't blame my poor playing on the quality of my guitar!
  22. I can finally share this, I didn't want to jinx it by saying anything about it until it was all done. Last week was huge for me, I finally sold my late father's house. I have been taking care of it for years now and it has been difficult as the house was a few hours away. So that was a big personal win! I inherited a motorcycle from him as well and I told myself I would sell it and use the money from it to buy a really nice guitar. Well, I found someone selling a never been played PRS CE24 for a steal of a deal. It all just seemed to fall together, and one road trip later, and this beauty is mine! I never thought I would own such a nice guitar!
