  1. We can do Wonderwall....it is supposed to be THE cliche guitar song to play at parties
  2. @Rodman I really enjoyed your rendition of Soak up the Sun. Every time you came to the line "I.......am going to soak up the sun" it cut through everything and felt like you were speaking directly to me. I feel like the style really created a connection to the listener that way. I really enjoyed it! For my rendition, I finally got my lead singer scheduled and paid (she accepts candy canes thankfully) We spent a fun couple of hours recording takes until we had a good one. I put a bit of reverb on it, put a tone on the guitar with Bias FX and here it is!
  3. Sorry man, I was on vacation and using that as an excuse to stay off the computer. Didn't mean for it all to pile up on you.
  4. I can do better I'm sure Not sure on this one tho
  5. So the cool thing about AC/DC's bassist(s) is that the guitarists generally played the chords without the major 3rd note. This makes their stuff sound darker, but it isn't enough to voice the complete chord. The bass player then played those major 3rds to fill in the chord and complete it. So while the bass parts aren't technically groundbreaking, the bass part is key to their sound.
  6. My daughter wants Cheryl Crow - Soak up the Sun. She has the violin music all printed out and everything Ought to be fun!
  7. @Rodman Ok, Now that I got something resembling a solo figured out, here is my effort. This was harder than I thought it was going to be! I ended up playing Let it Snow with my son on bass for our family Zoom get together, then Good King Wenceslas with my daughter on violin. I love these times, though I fear they are fleeting.
  8. I think I grabbed my tabs from the Rocksmith version, so I think it is in C. This is the scale I found worked This is good for me to learn, but man I feel like I'm beating my head against the wall.
  9. I'm sitting trying to figure out the solo as we speak. I'm trying to just an Am pentatonic scale, but for some reason it just doesn't sound right some times! I'm afraid I am not rocking "Rockin Around the Christmas Tree."
  10. Some not often used chords here...it looks easy but it is tough for me
  11. The new week it up! Rock us into the new year!

  13. I'm going to drop the new week in about 30 minutes. Last start of 2020!
  14. Very nice! Your soloing was great and I liked the lead-in before you started the Trio+ going. What key/chord progression were you playing? I expected G D7 Am7, but I wasn't seeing the G at the start. I've not gotten mine recorded, but hopefully I will have time today. I'm always the one lagging behind, but appreciate you pushing me along!
  15. Not very competitive this week, but I did enjoy these songs!
  16. Oh that is just too awesome!
  17. I hit another milestone. 1000 days in a row!
  18. Now that my bass is done with the show....
  19. I have to share...I just got home from my kids orchestra concert. My son played All About That Bass on the electric bass that belonged my dad and he rocked the solo! My dad would have been proud! And my daughter was so into the music playing her violin, it was great!
  20. Wow...really enjoyed that! Looks like so much fun!
  21. Late start this week
  22. Well said @Rodman!
  23. We started with new songs for our challenges, the 5 or 6 were ones he learned. I think he posted them in week 347 or 348. Our first challenge song was was Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here back in week 349. I don't think I did too bad on it. @Rodman is a better player than me, but I try to make mine interesting to compete. I'm using it as a good excuse to teach myself recording and work with a DAW as well.
  24. A mastermode score gets you an additional point for the leaderboards. Occasionally someone does it to much admiration and adoration from all. I have to say, this is pretty much the conversation that was going on when @Rodman challenged me to learn a new song each week. He posted 5 or 6 recordings of songs he had memorized and I said "I want to do that!" So he said, "Let's do it then!" (quotes aren't really quotes, just me paraphrasing.) Come one @TarpMadaand @SpankNass, join us! Give it a shot. We aren't going for Rocksmith note for note renditions, just grab some tab and try to get it recognizable. My worst was Every Breathe you Take. I didn't get the whole song, I just got one part and could only play it slowed down. It is all fun between friends as we push each other to get better!
