left hand, right hand or both ? most important thing is to stay relaxed Right hand. I play finger style/finger picking style, if that makes a difference, I can't use a pick. I generally use three fingers during the faster sections, but like I said, my fingers get pretty tired. I am making progress, yesterday my (right) hand was dead tired after playing through Under the Red Cloud twice, today I managed to play it three times before they gave up on me. :) I try and keep both of my hands relaxed, but do find my self tensing up from time to time. So any more advice? Definetely do right hand exercises to buildup speed. It is just a matter of practice. On faster parts I like to use Billy Sheehan 3 finger technique. Look it up on youtube. Maybe this isn't the best place to ask this, but... Does anyone have any advice for building up finger speed, strength and endurance for some of the faster music on bass? I've been working on playing Amorphis Under the Red Cloud, but after playing the song a few times, my fingers are completely worn out! Most of the song is pretty easy, but there are a few of the faster sections that I struggle with.

ok, didn't know about that. I just noticed that there weren't any Overkill cdlcs, so I figured I'd ask. Honestly, I wouldn't know a bad tab from a good one, I'm really just learning how to play bass.

I'm loving all of these great metal cdlcs. Any chance we could get something by Overkill when you have time? Maybe Horrorscope, Overkill, Evil Never Dies, or Feel the Fire?

I had to set the cable gain to max, but it seems to be working now, thanks.

I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask this, but here goes. Every time I play RS the levels for the RS usb cable (Recording Devices/Rocksmith USB Guitar Adapter/Microphone Properties/Levels) drops down to 17 or 21, which is far too low, and RS won't even detect about half of the notes I play. So every time I start up RS, the tuner screen tells me my bass guitar volume is too low, so I alt-tab to the desktop, change the microphone properties levels to 100, and everything is fine. Until the next time I play RS, when the levels drop back down to 17 or 21 again. I've tried everything I can think of to fix this, but haven't had any luck. Anyone know how I can fix this?
