Rocksmith 2014 Championship Week 563
Mikson replied to cacahuate51's topic in Rocksmith Championship
Bass This is harder than 3.5. And this? Oh, this is definitely not a 4, no way. I'd give this a 5.5/6 and rather advanced class. It's basically the same chart as in lead, but we've already discussed about it before and determined that the same chart for bass path is rating higher than guitar. There are a lot of bends here that need to be hit quickly, which is not easy on the bass. Yes 6/6.5, I think that's how I rated this once. A few quick licks, otherwise not too difficult. Hmm, this seemed more difficult when I played, so I was surprised by the score. This is really tiring for the hand. I'd give this a 8.5.- 120 replies

Rocksmith 2014 Championship Week 563
Mikson replied to cacahuate51's topic in Rocksmith Championship
Rhythm Hmm playing this I wondered why @ cacahuate51 used this as rhythm? I thought there would be chords throughout the chart, but here there is riff, riff, mini solo, riff etc. and only single notes with frequent bends. These chords require some stamina. I disagree with @ johnal here, some chords are really unusual and awkward to play quickly. The chart also has some odd single notes, for example an orange G7 should be played as a green B3. Maybe not 8, but 7/7.5 for sure.- 120 replies

Rocksmith 2014 Championship Week 563
Mikson replied to cacahuate51's topic in Rocksmith Championship
@ cacahuate51 @ Rodman Really interesting discussion about difficulty ratings. Truly academic For me this also deserves a 4, e.g. due to the quick movement along the fretboard, beginners may have a big problem finding the right fret quickly.- 120 replies

Rocksmith 2014 Championship Week 563
Mikson replied to cacahuate51's topic in Rocksmith Championship
I started with E-std songs Fun chart, it is quite repetitive so it can be learned. 4 is a good rating. I don't know when I last played this song, maybe 2 years ago? When I added it back to my DLC's list I saw these scores: I tried lead again 2 times and each time I got the same score I don't know if I can do 90% here, I think now that this solo deserves a difficulty rating of 7.5. Funny that we have 2 songs in a similar disco style this week. The difficulty here is the often repeated fast licks. 7.5-8. is ok.- 120 replies

Rocksmith 2014 Championship Week 563

This option doesn't work for me because I don't have permissions, I've already mentioned that. I used it once and it worked fine, but then after some update I lost my permissions, I don't know why- 120 replies

Rocksmith 2014 Championship Week 563
Mikson replied to cacahuate51's topic in Rocksmith Championship
I think there is no problem. I myself once added 2 or 3 CDLCs that were not mine, which I then wanted to use for the championship. Sometimes when downloading some CDLCs I saw a comment from the person uploading file that he was not the author of CDLC.- 120 replies

Rocksmith 2014 Championship Week 563
Mikson replied to cacahuate51's topic in Rocksmith Championship
@ cacahuate51 Lol where did you get that Christopher Cross song, I don't think this was on the song suggestion list? I remember adding this to the suggestions list a long time ago but I think removed it later because the chart was very repetitive except for the solo. But ok, I remember this was a good quality CDLC and a cool song so let's play!- 120 replies

Bass final score

Guitar improvements Beginner for fun I'll probably be beaten by @ pedropmf and @ cacahuate51 , like every week, but I'm happy with this score and the high bar These solo sections are short but definitely too difficult for me. That's why this deserves an 8.

Update! I have re-entered all scores from last week manually and updated the winners list. Now it should be correct.

Lead Pretty cool to play, I like those synth solo parts. Good chart for beginners. This is a song I've played many times before (more than the counter says) and I once thought about adding song to the suggestion list, but I had problem with rating difficulty. Those double stop parts are pretty tricky, as @ cacahuate51 mentioned, I agree because I struggled with them before, so I know it's not easy for intermediate players even though there's no typical solo. I think 5.5 is the most appropriate rating. Fun song in the second half when the solo parts come in. Whenever Judas Priest appears in the championship you can expect a good chart to play in and that is no different this time.

Thanks for the feedback, I added this to the selection list a year or so ago and rated bass path 6.5. Now after a long break played it again and it seemed easier so I lowered the rating to 5.5, but I see that 6 would be the most appropriate rating.

That sounded pretty defeatist like you don't want to play anymore hmm. What I can recommend is just enjoy playing the songs, remember that championship often lets you discover something cool that you wouldn't normally play. Also try to listen to your own playing, the score in RS is often distorted by bad recognition etc.

Sorry but you're wrong (or maybe I'm seeing some other version of the leaderboard). I looked through all the upload scores from last week and @ robolechuga didn't even show any score for Gojira song Rhytm path! The table shows 99.12%, which is why system gives him the win and promotes him to masterclass lol. I have no idea where that score came from. @ Vodka score is correct but he wrote that he does not want to be promoted now. Besides that, I would say that there are a lot of extra scores, for example for the song 1985 there are 17 scores on the leaderboard, a few more than I counted in the previous week topic. I assume it is the same with the other songs.

When I generated the winners list, the winners were generated for the week 560, not 561. Player promotions to higher classes also did not activate, so I had to enter everything manually in the title post. Probably some weird mess in the code. After what you're writing I think I understand, the scores from week 560 were added to the songs from week 561, a real mess... It's possible that everything will have to be checked and entered manually, so for now I'll delete the winners list and @ Vodka and @ robolechuga your promotions are canceled.

Bass scores:

Scores are recognized using OCR and automatically added to the leaderboard. Apparently there was an error in the system, because previously if the screen was recognized, then score was correct. Please provide examples of some incorrect scores and have @ kayteck or @ avastreg look into it.

Rhythm Oh this is quite fast, I would give this a little high diff rating (5.5-6 maybe). This is a little faster, but not much harder than the BD song. I think 6.5 is the max diff. @ Rodman I don't think there is such a big difference in difficulty between BD and Gojira songs that the rating would differ by 2 (5 vs 7). I think 5.5 vs 6.5 would be more appropriate (or 6 BD vs 7 Gojira, because Lead and Rhythm charts of the Gojira song are almost the same, so they should have the same rating).
-
I tested lead paths first. 3, I agree. Difficult intermediate. I would say 5.5, but this could even be 6. Nice song by Johnny Cash. I haven't played too many of his songs here, probably only this cover recently. When it comes to Gojira, I join to @ MaZtoR and @ avastreg club. It's not my cup of tea either. Their charts don't have what I like, i.e. any melodic riffs, solos, etc. It's hard for me to rate such a chart, I would give this maybe 6.5, but I this can also be 7 because of the speed. Here's the best explanation of what I meant above. There are some nice melodic riffs here that I like. However, this CDLC including default tones that are terrible and cannot be heard at all... I don't understand CDLC creators who can't add any normal-sounding tone to the CDLC they create. I will have to improve this in DLC Builder. As for the rating, I think this is a clean 8.
