'changing' tuning, ie renaming away from 'custom tuning'
firekorn replied to cheechi's question in Rocksmith Remastered
you are correct in your assumption that tuning list is what the game only knows and everything else is labeled as "custom tuning". Recent discoveries for modding the game though have allowed to add new tuning properly to that list, we are working on getting something that would cover 99.99999% of the current needs for all user to be easily added by all user. If you feel like modding it yourself, you can always check this : http://customsforge.com/index.php/topic/53049-colds-crap/ -
@@Rockfirstlast Black or darkish tone are really hard to make out from the background in some situation, the colors need to be intense enough to stand out relatively well. There's a lot of trial and error to get something that works well enough and don't look ulgy as shit in game. That's the kind of situation where you realize the default set is far from bad :D
-
Had some fiddle around with all the files in there, i think the most interesting part of that beside string color is to edit how some technique might look especially chord fret hand mute and palm mute. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/415524785557209102/587681507628548121/unknown.png Looks better than the default light blue outline and makes frethand mute largely more readable on the go. Clearly a lot of room to fiddle with stuff but since it's all DDS, it pretty much have to be custom made to get something interesting out of it. Really nice discovery there though and i'll sure have some fun with adjusting a few stuff in there.
-
So i had some fun : It's all in that dependency_songcomponents.psarc There's a good amount of stuff to fiddle with for something proper (i just made a mess to see how much there was in there and how far the game could support some of it). The gradient end up in many different places so it'll likely need to be changed in many places to make sure the change is effective everywhere in the game though.

@@coldrampage .org should be from CFSM if i'm not mistaking. One thing i was able to make which is interesting is to alter the notetail color : https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/415524785557209102/587320170767319057/unknown.png This was done by altering the note_gradient_map.dds in the cache 6 assets/gameplay/tail

I don't know what the limit is, i just recall (might be bad memory though) that someone said the list won't scroll.
-
Thing is that getting rid of already existing tuning won't solve the issue of theSG entirely and considering the jump function in the list is linked to that tuning list to some extent, it would be problematic if it ended up breaking that part higher up in tuning than it already do :)
-
Right didn't noticed it stopped working when going down low like this but all other custom tuning that are higher works fine. I'm curious though how many tuning can be added cause i recall some people saying it won't scroll.
-
@@theSG That's incorrect though, all custom tuning are correctly sorted when you sort by tuning and can still move from one tuning to another with the [ and ] key as you do with all the other tuning. Adding a name is purely a cosmetic change and won't technically alter the way the list work as far as i know.

CDLC not working since "Remastered" update.
firekorn replied to Sags's question in Rocksmith Remastered
There's no good way to keep track of all the revision that have been done over the years with IP board anyway and the last person that did an edit forgot to check the box to show the last edit date... As to why Maztor decided to post his own link, i have no idea. Again, all i can assure is that the link in the first post is as accurate as it is with the current version of the game. Anything posted by other user i can't vouch for. -

firekorn replied to Sags's question in Rocksmith Remastered
@@kirispy the dll in the post of the "Use CDLC" page is the dll i made sure work with the remastered version, if that one doesn't work, i don't see any reason to assume others would. Note that CFSM can be used to make sure the dll is properly named and in the right folder automatically too. -

Souce? It's something that have been asked for years and now that they do it, they get flacked as if they are going out of business or something without any information indicating any issue, they are still recruiting, they are still active, they are putting out content players asked for, how can that be considered a problem? It's way too early to judge anything at this point as the next month can easily get back to the usual artist/variety pack like they did for years now.

Steams Autoupdate deleted all of CDLC (Lets try that again)
firekorn replied to Conker23's question in Rocksmith Remastered
We don't allow CDLC of oDLC being shared around here. Just make sure to keep your post in check with our rule. And as far as i'm aware, steam update shouldn't even touch CDLC content so unless you have actual information about your situation that isn't in opposition with everything we know so far, i don't really see who is that suppose to help. -
Mac patch fix - CDLCs not loading solution

Seems like the wwise convertion is failing or done with incorrect settings which is why it's always strongly suggested to let the toolkit handle the convertion itself.
-
1) it's never true as far as i'm aware at the moment, in fact it tends mostly to be the opposite, songs done later or with more recent update are more likely to be better as they would have been made to adjust what was lacking in previous work and done with more recent tool and better experienced charter in general. The 100% bug is linked to chord, the idea is that chord are counted two times in the total, so hitting one chord correctly count as 2 correct hit which completely skew the resulting accuracy at the end cause a song with only chord can bassically end up with 2 times more "hit" than the actual number of chord there is.
-
The thing is, most of this have already been talked about over Rocksmith forum or during their stream. They are aware of what could be better and would help, they've also asked question over Rocksmith Discord about some stuff. There's not much point left in suggesting what could be improved, the question is wether or not doing an update is something that they consider viable/interesting or have the proper manpower to do and how far can they really go with the current game code. Many thing that we can't know about without inside information.

Transcription is a whole subject that i don't intend to cover on that tutorial. Guitar Pro and music notation in general is a whole can of worm that i don't feel qualified to teach over written text. There's plenty of information around (even wikipedia is a decent source for that) that you can use but if no guitar pro file are available and you have no experience in transcription or in using guitar pro, you might as well switch songs.
