  1. Yeah I know how to do it a different way (I mostly use Gyazo to quickly take a screenshot for images). But when you don't know/forget you can lose your whole post so I tought it might be something worth looking into for a forum admin/dev, that's why I made the post. Or maybe adding a warning when you try to post a topic with a steam screenshot link so you don't instantly lose everything once you press the "post topic" button.
  2. Method: viewing the screenshot online, right click the image, copy link adress. Using image input with the link adds the screenshot to the edit view. Everything looks fine at this point. But whenever I try to post the topic I get thrown back to the main view of the forum with no warning and the complete post is lost. Inserting any other image trough a link seems to work fine. Only happens when I try to add a steam screenshot.
  3. Edit: I think I figured it out already  I'll have to put a note under every bend for it to work. I should make more threads when I get stuck seems like I always figure things out 5min after posting a topic on it :D I'm trying to make a bend (14th fret on low e string) with tech notes where you hold the bend and keep picking the note. But in RS it just shows up like holding the note with a weird fade. The picking while holding the bend is very fast, maybe too fast for RS to properly show the technique? Or am I doing something wrong here? EoF view RS view I tought it was supposed to look like the image on the right (image from tech note tutorial thread) http://i920.photobucket.com/albums/ad41/Berneer/Figure11-DDCDiffCheck2-In-Game_zps2fe27e53.png?t=1392694553
  4. Ah I see. Thanks! I'll try that
  5. Is there a auto way to do this? I know EoF sometimes asks to apply the fingering to the same chords but that seems to be random, or at least for 'known' chords. I currently have a lot of muted strums, but in EoF some of them have one note in them that is off (in this case on the 8th fret) so they show up too high on the neck compared to the rest of the song. (wich is around the 3rd fret). Is there an easy way to auto-change all of the same muted chord patters to have just open muted strings?
  6. @@firekorn Thanks, that worked, at least with the one I tried changing. Maybe I missed it in a tutorial but it is rather confusing, when nothing is entered in the field it displays 'DLC Name' wich made me think it would be best to use the same name everytime as I tought it was maybe a sort option.
  7. Ok thanks! good to know it's at least not just on my end, I think  Edit: not sure if it's any help but these are screens of the toolkit for ORW and VoN https://gyazo.com/75d325b411b08ff55227d269a41c3faf https://gyazo.com/c1ddead3fddd6cc5628fb929207dc53a
  8. I remade the cdlc of Valleys of Neptune and One Rainy Wish. Still the same problem, but now it's reversed. ORW shows up when VoN does not load when it was the other way around with the older cdlc. The songs load fine on their own when I remove the ones that are in conflict with each other. But there defenitly seems to be something giving priority to one song being loaded over the others. I also have like 2 other cdlc's I'm working on that don't have this problem and load perfectly fine. It's only with these 3 songs for some reason even tough I use the same format for all of them And I don't see anything specific they have in common since it's different songs from different albums, different tones etc
  9. @@Liquidlizard I'm going to try to remake the cdlc's with the toolkit to see if I messed something up. But I defenitly don't have the same songin any map of RS. Already tried with only those songs in the cdlc map. Not sure what you mean with different creators? Since I'm making the cdlc myself. And isn't the AppID the cherub rock ID? Or is that different and how would I be able to change that ID?
  10. Is there a reason why several cdlc's don't show up because of other cdlc's? I was trying to test songs I'm working on but some don't show up. I have to remove the other ones for one to be able to load in RS. (only one loads everytime I have multiple in the folder, and always the same one) link to the cdlc's if it's any help https://www.dropbox.com/sh/hodme7zk425azqw/AAB67_z8iPJ2LF9NPhiZ03iaa?dl=0
  11. Thanks for the lessons! You might have inspired me to make some fairly short song lessons I have laying around that 'teach' some different techniques for blues, once I get done with the songs I'm working on.
  12. @@albatross213 I tought that could have been the problem. I think the camera was dynamic on another song I tested that had no phrasings tough, but that one had DD so maybe that's why. But I'll defenitly add phrases then Thanks for the help!
  13. I'm working on a song (Valleys of Neptune) where the camera seems to keep the same zoom trough the whole song. Not sure if this is a bug or maybe I messed up something in EoF. If anyone has any idea's what can cause this. There are only 2 or 3 very "short" parts in the song where the chords reach up to the 12th fret but the camera stays zoomed out in that position during the whole song. The biggest part of the song is played on the lowest part of the neck so I have no idea why the camera is doing this. http://steamcommunity.com/id/IImayneII/screenshots/?appid=221680 * If a mod sees this, I was trying to post the screenshots from steam as image by linking to the image url. The image shows up in the editor but when I clicked *make post* the entire post vanished. I tried to do the same in this post but by editing it, but it just makes all of my text vanish. Not sure if that's a bug or it's intended?
  14. @ If I find a good audio quality one I might look into it but I assume rockband does the same thing as RS, wich is making their own arrangements so I don't think it will be easy to find that version, and it will be different anyway. Currently I'm also converting from high quality *.flac files from albums so most likely will just keep this. I know the camera zooms in songs but I don't think any program gives controls for that, only setting the general scroll speed. I think it just auto zooms when there are notes far apart on the neck. One of the other songs has the same 'problem' so I'll look into that but I don't think I'll be able to manually adjust it during the song.
  15. @ Thanks for the feedback! And yeah, I noticed some parts out of sync. specially a lot of the intro so I'll be fixing that and removing last part of the intro since it's barely hearable. I think I made most of the bends a bit too fast, probably why they don't register, I'll make those longer. I think they are supposed to be longer anyway. I'll check the second bend you talk about, I think the notation in RS was just weird because it's supposed to be very fast picking of the 14th fret on the e string while holding the bend, I think it looked a bit too much like a regular bend in RS since the notes are very close to each other. I might just make it a tremolo vibrato if it's too confusing. Some hammer-on's where not properly synced too. So I'll just go trough it again to fix some parts to the best of my abilities. I'll try uploading a new version soon-ish if you are willing to go trough it again. Not sure if it's possible to adjust the camera like that. I think I can only adjust the scrollspeed, wich is already fairly low I think. But I'll look into that. Also forgot phrases so I'll probably just add the dynamic difficulty/phrases next time too. Great you liked the tone. One less thing to worry about
  16. Even when you manually move lyrics, EoF seem to randomly remove words from phrases (blue bar cuts off like you see in the screenshot) and EoF treats them as "out of bounds" so they don't show up. You just have to remake the phrase by selecting all the words and pressing ctrl+m. I imported the lyrics xml in EoF, it imported with all phrases correct and all the lyrics show in the preview. When I start moving a word, EoF automatically disconnects it from the phrase and it doesn't show up anymore. So you just need to remake the phrase manually again with the method I mentioned. The thing is, the blue bar doesn't always adjust when EoF removes a word, so it can look like it's still locked to the phrase, but it isnt. Not sure why I still can't see the video due to copyright since I live in the same country...
  17. Video is apperantly blocked in my country, but like firekorn says, the screenshot shows the problem. All phrases should have the blue bar above them, your phrase is missing words so those won't show up. Just select every word (hold ctrl), then press ctr+m to link them as a phrase. Basically, every word that doesn't have the blue bar on top won't show up.
  18. Are you sure you actually made them properly? And added them as lines with ctrl + m ? (not sure what the proper term is, but you can tell when they are cut off when they don't have the blue bar on top) Sometimes EoF seems to automatically remove words from those lines when you are adjusting the lyrics, so those won't show up when that happens.
  19. If there are still testers here, I have some songs I would like to be tested before I release them since I have never uploaded a cdlc. So it would be for a "quality check" http://customsforge.com/topic/23027-ikwtif-customs/
  20. Since I started working on a few cdlc songs I tought it was time to make a thread so I can keep a few things organised. At the moment, I'm just working on some Jimi Hendrix songs I wanted to add to RS, wich I had tabblature for. I'm planning on transcribing a few less-known songs later on but I wanted to learn how to make cdlc's first before putting a lot of effort in transcribing a song. This thread is mainly to keep my progress and ask for people to test the cdlc before I upload them. You can find all cdlc files that are ready to test in the following link if you want to give them a test run (mainly to check if it's synced properly/not too messy/proper tone/or maybe just something I overlooked, since that tends to happen every now and then  ) https://www.dropbox.com/sh/32kuyr2rjqn2fnz/AACqTl2vSMjfmcIuSwcFzjfia?dl=0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Currently I'm working on the following (Jimi Hendrix) songs. Villanova Junction (lead) - Eb standardNeeds testing + I sill need to find the proper tuning frequency for this one wich seems to be slightly above Eb standard. Not sure how to exactly find the proper tuning, so if anyone is willing to help with that or can maybe point me to a program that can help with it, I would greatly appreciate it. If I can't figure it out I might just use a backing track instead of the song. Valleys of Neptune (rythm/vocals) - Eb standardReady, but needs test One Rainy Wish (rythm/lead/bass/vocals) - Eb standardReady except bass tone I have no bass guitar so I can't really test that in RS, or make a proper tone for it. So if anyone is willing to help with that, I would appreciate it. Currently I just linked the bass to the default tone. ------------------------------------------------ Update 26/09 Also thinking of doing these Up from the skies (rythm) - Eb standardtabs in GP May this be love (rythm) - Eb standardtabs in GP My Friend (rythm guitar1&2)tabs in GP Pali GapSouth Saturn Deltasynced ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ That's it for now. If I forget something I'll update it later. I currently have all song audio set to 0db (instead of the -7db default) since they sounded very low. I don't think it's because of one of my settings so it shouldn't be a problem, but just a heads up for headphone users, you never know :D but you should be able to hear it in the preview if it's way too loud. I also might add Dynamic Difficulty with the RS toolkit, but I tried it once and just seem too be more confusing than anything. I tought about making phrases for it but I assume most of the phrases are too different for the leveling to work properly so I probably won't do that with these songs. PS: When I am testing I don't want to retune everytime so I use the program transcribe to pitch the song from Eb to E standard. No idea if this is a thing, but I might put the retuned cdlc in a dropbox link in this thread too after I uploaded them. Or if anyone wants to test a song without having to retune let me know and I'll add those to the link aswell. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Finished You Blues practice packHey Gipsy Boy - Jimi Hendrix
  21. ah ok. Tought so. Thanks for the advice
  22. Is there an easy way to replace a song I'm testing (with slight changes, like a new tone tone/increasing song volume) , in RS without having to close it everytime? The times I tried it either fails to load, or just hangs while loading the song.
  23. @cozy1 Not sure how that's even done. That's why I just keep the cdlc's in different folders so I can just move them before starting the game
  24. I already had several cldlc songs in different maps (inside the cdlc folder) to keep things a bit organised. Now, I wanted to try the setlist manager and the program imported the maps with songs as seperate setlists automatically, but when I try to disable them they still load ingame. (All the songs in the "DLC songs" list have the yellow background and I read the color should be red) I can disable a setlist (shows NO for enabled), wich clears the "SetlistSongs" . But when I switch to a random other setlist and come back to the disabled one, all the songs are back in the "SetlistSongs" Do I have to manually remake all these setlists for every song? or is there a place/file I could quickly fix this
  25. @@GetTheLedOut Thanks for having a look! Do you think it's worth keeping this sync or should I still mess around with it? I think it's ok for the most part now tough. But my opinion may be skewed since I have been trying to sync it for so long. (already made a few small slight adjustments where some notes where off after I uploaded it, but not much) And yeah, I really figured how to properly sync with the 2nd track I did (still not finished those cdlc's tough). Spend a few hours on that one until I figured it out, and got it under half an hour when I got the hang of it. I spend hours going back and forth on this one tough, so it's nice to hear you think I did a good job with it  I'll probably open up a thread, later today, in the workshop section so I can keep everything in the same place with some specific questions per song I'm working on. And probably upload test-cdlc's over there for the last two, so people who want, can have a test run on them before I upload the cdlc. As I want them to be good enough so people actually want to play or learn the songs. And I know I could probably pick a lot easier songs but you could say I like a challenge :D
