Ah, I haven't played much this week, but since I see that concert topics were discussed here, I can say that I was at Lenny Kravitz's concert on Tuesday. Although I don't generally listen to his songs on a daily basis (apart from the radio, etc.), the concert was really good!

Rythm scores now.

I'm also looking at a new guitar any ideas? 24 Frets, SSH If possible, Trem/Hard Tail. I was looking at a AZ2402 as that seems to cover everything and sell my current guitar.

When I see how great scores @ Vodka  is achieving here, I'm starting to be afraid of competing with him! 🫣

I had to remind myself of this because the previous scores were from tests. Yes, this is good!

Time for bass

The difficulty ratings for the lower classess are underestimated by @ cacahuate51 , which I've gotten used to a bit 😉 But I think the diff ratings for this week need to be increased in the worksheet to be consistent with the diff ratings from previous weeks.

I acheved 100% but this was quite fast and beginners might not be able to keep up. 3.5/4

wGQV6OA.jpeg

4.5/5. Skipping across all 4 strings. Really good chart.

This song keeps surprising me. Fun on guitar and bass too. Some fast licks so 5/5.5.

7/7.5

Classic slap bass song. If you let go of playing it properly slap & pop technique you can get a much better score, but properly this is I think 8.5.

In hindsight, my score probably shouldn't count.  It is a version that I don't think is on CS anymore, I think charted by CSTMac.  Not sure it compares or not.  I didn't even think about it.  But I'm going to see if I can talk my son into working up a cover of the song with me.

Fun little mix this week!

?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

T. Rex are actually one of my mums favourite bands, along with Queen, so hearing this brought back some childhood memories. Fun little groove to it, hadn't heard this one in about 20+ years. If you liked this then give these a listen as well:

1. Children of the Revolution

2. Get it On

3. 20th Century Boy

?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

Speaking of childhood memories, this brought many flooding back. Arpeggios were surprisingly tricky to get my head around but once I figured it out it was great fun to play. Really good song for practising common chord changes/progressions as well.

No suggestions for these guys, pretty sure they were one hit wonders, the 90s was full of them!

?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

John Frusciante loves some crazy chords. Every so often I come back to RHCP and try to learn some of their songs only to get frustrated with the chords so this was a good chance to challenge myself. This song was great fun even if it did require some rewiring.

Now, I'm not the biggest RHCP fan so they probably have better songs than I'm going to suggest here, I mainly know their popular stuff

1. Under the Bridge

2. Snow (Hey Oh)

3. Higher Ground

4. Pretty Little Ditty (might recognise another popular song that sampled this one!)

5. Blood Sugar Sex Magik

?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

On the other hand, I do love me some Opeth. Mikael Akerfeldt, voice of an angel, growls of a demon, is a master of song writing; funny thing is that he's actually quite self-deprecating in his interviews and always manages to find flaws with his songs, man just operates at a whole other level. This song itself is great, I've given this album a fair few listens and this song always stood out to me, probably because Ian Anderson of Jetro Tull himself did that great flute solo!

Going to do 10 suggestions for Opeth here because I honestly can't narrow the list down any further. Should be a wide enough mix here for everyone to find something they like, safe to say Opeth aren't afraid to experiment with their sounds

1. Godshead Lament

2. Ghost of Perdition

3. Windowpane

4. Benighted

5. Sorceress

6. Heir Apparent

7. Demon of the Fall

8. Deliverance

9. The Moor

10. The Lotus Eater

?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

Little tip, don't attempt this album playthrough after a particularly punishing arms day at the gym. I was deeply regretting my decision once No Quarter came around.

Managed to eek out another 0.2% and to make matters worse, I know that I made some very stupid mistakes out of fatigue more than anything else so that means I'll have to give this another go at some point this week.

Best of luck everyone, another great week!

Sounds pretty cool to be able to play with your son. how long have you been both learning if you don’t mind my asking?

Ok I averaged the bass ratings (since thats mostly where people rated)  / rounded up and they are updated now.
Kinda surprised trex still remains under mmbop since its kinda tricky to 100% but i guess it does repeat a lot.
(I just switched values on the chart and post i didnt delete it hopefully that's ok/ to me it doesnt make sense to delete the week and refetch everything/ might cause problems for whoever is doing next week. but if i have to let me know)

No no @ Mikson  don't be afraid. I will not be promoted in the next 10-14 years. At least I will not agree to do it (because I play terrible) 🙂

We really haven't played much together unfortunately, he has been playing bass in jazz band.  I keep trying to get him to teach me what he has learned about soloing and such.  He has played the cello, then moved to upright bass, then electric bass, so probably 9 years for him.  I've been playing Rocksmith for 7 or 8 years, no formal training on guitar for me.

Can't stop is quite hard, heaven forbid if they put Snow on here (Though I prefer the parody version)
