Let us know your opinions on the accuracy of the difficulty scores (1-10) for this weeks songs.

Just a few notes for this week:  If you have problems downloading The Ballad of Serenity let me know.  It was orphaned so I put it into Ignition so we could play it.  I've never done that before, so let me know if there are issues.  It is a fun and easy piece, and great if you liked the show Firefly.  The other thing to look out for is the Megadeth song on bass is pretty easy to get a high percentage due to note density.  I almost rated it a 4 to prevent undesired leveling up, but there are a few sections that are hard enough to rate the song a 5. 

The Richard Marx song is a really good one for practicing arpeggios in a chord shape.  It is on the slower side so it gives you a bit to get your hand position set.  I would recommend beginners take a stab at it.  Rock on!

 

Oof that is still a pain in the ass. Hammer off section from 7 6 4 - 6 4 7A is getting me hard.  Is that how they actually play it?

Quick question and apologies if I've missed this somewhere else: What function does an extra or bonus arrangement serve, eg, last week's "Bass2" arrangement at beginner level was "Rockin' All Over the World". I had the highest score on that one (100%) and tied for the highest on "Sonne" but didn't win. I thought both counted but apparently that's wrong? Just want to make sure I understand for future weeks.

Edit: Also I thought SpankNass was competing at Intermediate level?

well i screwed up, got an 86 i think yesterday evening and didnt take a screenshot and now i cant play it again that well, guess ill have to try to recreate that score all week lmao

That sounds good to me.  Such a good song, nice to have it around for 2 weeks.

The bonus arrangements show up when there are two arrangements for the same class.  The bonus song is just for bragging rights and doesn't affect the leaderboards.  

The past few weeks @SpankNass has been in the beginner bass class, unless I missed a requested level up.  Looks like the start of  a good rivalry!

Absolutely! All is correct.
@jellisjenius - normally, if there is a bass path that is not really suitable for competitive playing... eg only few sections of the song feature bass or very strange tuning or very easy pattern with single very hard sections ... those are added as BONUS and are not awarded a winner. Not last week - there were just 2 paths fitting into beginner bass - so they were named 1 and 2 and... yes you did win 2 (lost 1 by worse streak). In those cases #1 is scored for the 10-week leaderboards unless especially mentioned other.

Not usually a huge Megadeath fan, but I quite like this one.

 

When I read the chart this one looks pretty easy, but the string skipping on bass throws me for some reason.  

 

I'll get that riff down yet...

Alright some more practice under the belt and fingers are starting to remember. Took a long while since last time this was a Championship song and this time around I'm getting more of it:

 

I would seriously recommend a custom tone for this song, cause to me it's impossible to hear yourself playing with the muted tone they have.
