how to use Rocksmith SNG file to guitar ASCII TAB converter?

aliensugar

Question

how do you use the sng file  to  ASCII TAB function in tool kit 2.6.0 i have successfully unpacked a cdlc and created a sng file. i have also decrypted the same sng file but when i click convert on the sng2tab tab it asks for a rocksmith 1 DLC package .dat i went through every dir and file i had in the unpacked CDLC dir theres no dat file created dose this only work for rs1 dlc?  i dont know the RS1 dlc file exstention i only played RS1 on unmoded XBOX. Close as I have come to getting RS2 tabs is loading the arrangement .xml like lead etc. Back into eof but that sucks. Nebody have any luck with this tool? on the psarc.ext Or know how to get ASCII tab from a RS2 CDLC?

:excl: EDIT DL-ed a RS1 CDLC and it was a dat file and converted to tab perfectly so im guessing no love for 2014 or is there a way to convert RS14.psarc to RS1.dat? on windows 7 or linux??

I am curious: What does the ASCI Tab look like? Is it comfortable for printing?

Check out my easy tutorial on how to add a metronome to your CDLC: Mute the original music, play only with the metronome and find out how good you really sound! Also: Find CDLCs that have the metronome enabled!

Want a USB-Footswitch that you can use to control the tone selection and all the menus in Rocksmith? Check out Rodman's Tutorial and my additions to that!  Footswitch_Logo.png

My CDLCs: Devin Townsend - Life, Deep Peace, Ih-Ah!, Deadhead; Farin Urlaub - Ok

My ideas for new features in Ignition, e.g. filters for Multitrack CDLC and Metronome CDLC.

sure you can print it. but more then that you can learn the harder phrases buy looking at real tab. not a moving highway i like RS and all but i like to be able to see the tab first. i learn so much faster this way. then go play it in RS. its my opinon that RS would be the worst way to learn somthing as you would all ways have to be looking at the screen. everybody learns differnt but i can tell you i have learned songs by tab hands down way faster then in RS. once you learn the song you cant beat RS for play along  thats for sure

Nice! Since the Tab Explorer does not support printing, I was wondering if this function could be an alternative to that program. But is it already layouted for printing on e.g. A4 paper? I don't have any .dat songs, so I can't test it.

Maybe the devs will implement support for psarc at some point in the future :-)

Alright sry for beeing so unspecific, I was wondering what happens with a longer TAB.

This is just your section extended with a couple of copies. It looks fine as long as it's all in one line and you can scroll to the right, but looks horrible here:

e|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|
B|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|------------------|
G|------0-----2-----|--0-----------0---|----0-----0-----0-|------0-----2-----|--0-----------0---|----0-----0-----0-|------0-----2-----|--0-----------0---|----0-----0-----0-|------0-----2-----|--0-----------0---|----0-----0-----0-|------0-----2-----|--0-----------0---|----0-----0-----0-|------0-----2-----|--0-----------0---|----0-----0-----0-|
D|----2-----0-----0-|------------0-----|--0-----4-----4---|----2-----0-----0-|------------0-----|--0-----4-----4---|----2-----0-----0-|------------0-----|--0-----4-----4---|----2-----0-----0-|------------0-----|--0-----4-----4---|----2-----0-----0-|------------0-----|--0-----4-----4---|----2-----0-----0-|------------0-----|--0-----4-----4---|
A|------------------|----------3-----3-|------3-----3-----|------------------|----------3-----3-|------3-----3-----|------------------|----------3-----3-|------3-----3-----|------------------|----------3-----3-|------3-----3-----|------------------|----------3-----3-|------3-----3-----|------------------|----------3-----3-|------3-----3-----|
E|--0-----2-----3---|------------------|------------------|--0-----2-----3---|------------------|------------------|--0-----2-----3---|------------------|------------------|--0-----2-----3---|------------------|------------------|--0-----2-----3---|------------------|------------------|--0-----2-----3---|------------------|------------------|

If there are no line brakes, then it will be an aweful lot of work to add them by hand...

Also: Does it show special techniques, like hammer on / pull off, slides and such things? :-)
