Is Focusrite Scarlett 4th gen compatible with Rocksmith 2014 Remastered?

Question

Posted

I'm trying to get my scarlett solo 4th gen to work using RS ASIO instructions from GitHub but not working. I want to use the scarlett instead of the real tone cable. The specific audio interface info only covers up to Gen 3. Has anyone got a 4th gen to work?

Thanks!

ok i have now sound from the guitar. But the Sound is Cracking.

Your issue is most likely the buffer size setting on your Focusrite. You can change it by right clicking the "Focusrite Notifier" icon on your taskbar and going to device settings.

I recommend starting with 96 and seeing if that fixes it. If not, try 192.

I'll own you one day. 💜 If you would like to support me by donating, I always appreciate the help.

I have a 4th Gen 2i2 and it's working for me. It did take a minute to get it configured properly but that's because I was being a dummy and messed up the config file. Since this is my first post/reply, if the below is not allowed my apologies and I can remove it.

This is my current ini file config for my 2i2.

BufferSizeMode=custom
CustomBufferSize=128

[Asio.Output]
Driver=Focusrite USB ASIO
EnableSoftwareEndpointVolumeControl=1
EnableSoftwareMasterVolumeControl=1
SoftwareMasterVolumePercent=100

[Asio.Input.0]
Driver=Focusrite USB ASIO
Channel=1
EnableSoftwareEndpointVolumeControl=1
EnableSoftwareMasterVolumeControl=1
SoftwareMasterVolumePercent=100

[Asio.Input.1]
Driver=Focusrite USB ASIO
Channel=2
EnableSoftwareEndpointVolumeControl=1
EnableSoftwareMasterVolumeControl=1
SoftwareMasterVolumePercent=100

Thanks for the replies!

I did discover that my problem was a computer hardware issue. Once I switched to another identical computer the 4th Gen 2i2 works fine.

I have to ask, is the Scarlett the most practice one out there or do people go down the Apollo audio interface or use a Multi FX pedal IE Quad Cortex as an interface to use for Rocksmith?

Ok I'm on the Mac which makes everything much easier it's just plug in and play but I'm just wondering.

Thank you very much. I think I've managed to get everything working now. Even if I now have a strange guitar sound with some songs.

Is there actually a way to extract the soundtrack from a custom song? So that I can insert the song into Ableton live, for example?
