Why does one string just quit?

It's always the low E and it just quits working. I have tried unplugging the cable, multiple times and it doesn't seem to make a difference... I'm not a violent man but this makes me want to break things...

Increase the cable volume on the windows control panel. Cable volume defaults to 17. my Strat has the same problem if I don't increase the cable volume. Its REALLY annoying. Rocksmith changes it back EVERYtime you start the program so you will have to alt-tab out of rocksmith while it is running to set it.

When you say quits working do you mean no sound or not picking notes up

I had something similar happen when I'd play the first RS2012. Later I realized one of my pickups was dead, installed a new set and it worked fine.

They addressed this in a patch a while ago.  There should be an option somewhere in the game setting that controls the gain of the cable.

just so you know guys different d3dx9_42.dll versions have different default volumes only found this out when i used the rs on the laptop and had a different location for the downloaded dll and teh laptop was a lot louder for the guitar. I first assumed it was the sound card but the big pc version was loader no idea why when i copied the dll over from the laptop
