Video Playthroughs: Reason for separate discussion and video threads?

Hello,

 

I was wondering why the video playthrough discussion threads have a link to view the video in a separate window/tab instead of just embedding them directly? It seems a bit awkward to have to view the video in a separate instance of customsforge and then come back to the discussion thread to discuss. Many of these playthrough discussion threads have very few, if any, comments and I wonder if this is part of the reason.

Well, we purchased a combo with IPB. We didn't want to waste the video system's use. I might change it after we launch twitch streaming but for now I'm going to keep it that way. I would hate to throwaway $60 in donations.Also before hand, video responses was still little. After we launch search 2.6 or 3 I'll look into this, we have a lot going on right now.

Thanks for the response! I was unaware that the present system was purchased, or even how/why it works the way it does. If it's something that will have to be discarded in order to be changed, then I wouldn't worry about it...it isn't a show-stopper, and the part about it contributing to low comments was speculation on my part, I don't have any data to back that up.

 

This thread was just to find out more information and/or foster discussion, which it has. If you feel it's worth exploring alternatives or investigating further, please do; but please don't do so at the expense of past donations or taking time away from more pressing programming matters.
