GUitar Pro 6 export issue

phobos_a

Question

Hi There,

TL/DR version:

I did a full band score in Guitar Pro 6 to build a CDLC from and the export to .gp5 is borked. The lead guitar has somehow rendered as a 6-string bass and the automation is all over the place.

Anyone else who owns GP6 encounter the same issue? If so did you come up with a workaround? I'm totally stumped at the moment and don't really want to throw myself into making a CDLC if the initial tab file is ruined before I even start =/

Long Version:

Following the CDLC tutorial, I went to songsterr and downloaded a tab for the song I was going to use as my first CDLC. The tab I downloaded was, to be generous, a half-assed attempt that had inconsistencies all over the place so I decided to make my own version. Being a music nerd I ended up scoring the whole band's parts (including additional guitar lines from the song that I was going to include as bonus arrangements).

However, the export broke my arrangement. The lead guitar is now a 6-string bass. The automation is all over the place:

  • Rhythm guitar 2 starts loud as hell and then drops to the initial fade-in level I had set, and then stays like that for the whole song.
  • The same goes for Rhythm guitar 3.
  • Harmonised lead guitar has random volume changes that I hadn't even programmed into the original .gpx file
  • Bass guitar fades-in as programmed and then mysteriously drops-out (volume-wise) altogether after the first 8 bars of playing it's part.
  • Although the drum sounds in guitar pro are, to put it generously, horrible. Nonetheless the drums have managed to sound even worse than the original. =/

I have emailed guitar pro tech support in the hope of an answer but I was wondering if any of you guys had come up with a workaround for this issue....

First, eof doesn't care about the automation.

About the 6 strings bass thing with the lead you can change it in two or three click...

It takes more than a few clicks, but it's still easy enough to change:

1. Go to "Track>Rocksmith>Arrangement type" and select any type except bass.

2. Go to "Track>Pro guitar>Set tuning" and correct the tuning (ie. if it's E standard, set all #s to 0).

Unless I'm forgetting anything, that's pretty much it.

TBF the automation was more for uploading the finished TAB to songsterr (since I'd scored the whole studio version of the song including the drums, I thought I'd share it :) ).

For RS I just wanted to make sure that nothing weird was going to happen when I imported the TAB into EOF but it's good to know that EOF don't care... :)

Thanks for the tips, I'll give them a go and see how I get on :)

It's even faster to change it in GP5.
