Fingering for Single Notes? - Fingerpicking
TomSawyer2112 replied to immgr's topic in Editor on Fire
Well, Firekorn, it happened to me that I defined manual FHP, which is really a time consumimg pain, and then sometime later, doing an update I forgot about it, and let the automated process loose. Manual should always override and not be erased by automated FHP. FHP 1 defined in a Ghostnote gives me that insurance. -

I've got the same problem, but I could only find the early version of 2.6.0.0, with DD 2.2 instead of 2.6 among other missing corrections. When I check not to load beta releases in the config, it doesn't update anything, When I uncheck the latest update, the update nevertheless loads the last buggy version of 2.6.1.0-c37d42bd I post a link to version 2.6.1.0-2911121c, not including the updates since 28/2. -
Fingering for Single Notes? - Fingerpicking
TomSawyer2112 replied to immgr's topic in Editor on Fire
That's a nice precision, because then you don't have to worry to get the manually entered FHP erased by auto-generated FHP. Would it be possible to make this work with other fingerings, i.e.if I want a note played by the 3 finger, because of an upcoming pull off, I could just mark the fingering 3. To make it work now, I have to define a ghostnote 2 frets lower before, and mark it as fingering 1 -
That's fine with me then, I have to update my eof keys list ;) Thanks

Ok, I worked myself through the 150 shortcuts  , and would suggest "S" to add (set a catalog), "S" is only used during playback (with space) "D" to delete if direct keys don't work : shift+W to add catalog shift+E to delete catalog
-
I once made a list of all shortcuts in EOF, which comes in handy now. :) I'm still in favour of "A" to add catalog, after selecting a note. and "D" to delete catalog A is assigned to anchor, but only in the procedure when a beat is selected, not a note, If a note is selected, "A" does nothing, so it should be usable in this procedure. ( I was wrong, didn't see a beat is always selected sometimes out of screen) Q = show catalog W/E=next/previous catalog This configuration would set all keys for Catalog together, with a simple key, no combination. As I've shown in a thread I'm using catalog to define phrase, finding identicals or partial identicals with F3/shift F3 I don't use the "rename" catalog, but name the phrases C1, C2 ... for catalog n°1, n°2 Then I gather similar patterns of phrases i.e. C1-C3-C5 into a section. This way, structuring a track with perfectly working DD becomes child's play, even without listening to the track. Some simple pop songs have 8 catalog/phrases entries. but others can have 20 and more (and I hate chain-work ;))

I'm amazed raynebc, how much you could integrate from the recent discussions, in such a short time, fantastic job and attitude, ( :( just missing that little shortkey to add a catalog). Thanks anyway. ;)

Quote Since EOF imports sliding grace notes as slides leading into the note, should it just mark the grace note with linknext then? Yes, must be a nextlink, in case of a slide, I've never seen a 2nd pick, because logically a grace note belongs to his principle note. Such a slide is in EJ-Manhattan Tab (Guitar1) at bar 10 No slide in GP should logically be imported as Hammer on/ Pull off EJ-Manhattan Tab bar 26,27,39, 40 ... Quote Ghost notes mean entirely different things than with Rocksmith/Rock Band authoring. Agreed, and Ghost notes sustaining a same previous notes must not be imported, as this tends to make the tabs less readable. EJ-Manhattan Tab bar 39, 87 (6) Ghost notes different in pitch from a previous note are played slightly touched, almost as a muted noted, they are interesting to import. In The Patrolman Tab (lead) bar 41 (17) they are audible, but well hidden among many sustained ghost notes. Quote Do official charts usually prefer leaving the string unused or do they usually author them as muted strings? I'd rather stick with the official method as a default, but I can always add a function to remove string muted notes in chords if people would find that useful. A charter raised my attention, and I was really surprised, how badly RS14 recognized some 3 finger chords with a muted string in-between. In the official Eric Johnson - Cliff of Dover, a chord has no green muted string. http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/61ec/3i0nx30190bxk9uzg.jpg In Eric Johnson Manhattan cdlc, the Tab starts with a muted string in chords. Never can I get the 6x8 detected. http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/e115/0vdb9gn91fv29b7zg.jpg Strums are not exotic, I get them regularly. The duration to play them is defined in GP. if played really slow, I define a Chord Fret Handposition and split up a chord in individual notes, if they are not split in GP. They may appear like this : The 3 ways in GP sound more or less the same. http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/59a6/91efvk0au087wz7zg.jpg

Best way to do tones is to browse through RS songs that may have the same sound. I often find some in RS1 songs, and then I try to modify them. Import tones of another cDLC in the Toolkit.

About Import issues from GP5 tabs : Grace notes fall in the Category "Ornaments" because they don't influence the melody/pitch For E-Guitars, I would say 90%, are placed one or two frets lower than their principle note. I use a short timed slide with nextlink, they can be chords too, not only single notes. I make no difference between a Slide in and Grace note. Sometimes it's preferable to play them as hammer on/offs depending on Fret hand position required of what to play next . The Grace note maybe played as a full note after the principal note, so sliding up doesn't make sense. but maybe that requires too much logic, and falls in the domain of defining Fret hand positions. Ghost notes, another ornament, are the opposite of accented notes, I make no difference between a finger Muted note and a ghost note. Notations use ghost notes also as "let ring" of a sustained note along/beyond a next note (Crazy note in EOF) which may make it harder to program an import logic. Muted strings in a chord, most often a kind of 6x9 would better not to import in EOF, Detection of such chords often fails in RS14, they are better accepted as 6_9 Another Ornament rarely used in GP are Staccatoes, cutoff's, the notes are not sustained the whole duration. Most often they are interrupted by a pause / rest after the note, so they should be imported correctly. They may not be imported when they are correctly shown with a dot under/above the classic notation. A final Ornament are Strums, where chords are not played together, but very shortly one after another Eric Johnson's Manhatten uses Slide ins, Grace notes, Staccatoes, Strums up and down. Even a downslide from fret 14 to 2 on the lower string. The GP5 is in the download folder of Pollo_28's cDLC. I wanted to resume these import issues, because they are often overlooked in releases.

Audio configuration in RS2014
TomSawyer2112 replied to calin_the_dream's question in Rocksmith Remastered
I experienced that Dolby Home Theater v4 can greatly improve the sound on a 5.1 system, or worsen it, especially if a dialogue enhancer is activated, tones become as described. You don't have a Realtek sound chip, so I don't know if you can give it a try, but for anybody else reading this, it's night and day to have DHT4 or not. -
This has been discussed here a year ago, and the problem seems grace notes are attached to the following note, without a timing of their own. I don't know if GPalong handles these notes to make it easier to import. Same goes for Ghost notes that aren't a sustain of previous notes. Their importance to music is underrated, but when I play "Ween - A tear for Eddie", without ghost or grace notes, people say "nice", but when I play with these "decorations" they say "WOW". It's not important for Headbangers though. ;)

I consolated myself with these hotkeys, but if the mouse happens to point at the opened menu, the keys don't work. Q opens Catalag, W E seek forward/backward, so why should it be a problem to use A to add and D to delete a Catalog. (Catalog doesn't interfere with the notes, so there is no danger in changing sth. by mistake.) A & D are not used as a stand alone shortkey, as far as I know.
-
The Fret catalog feature in EOF is still underrated, but I use it a lot to structure songs, Wouldn't it become more popular, if it had a shortkey to add/delete a catalog, anyway I am missing these shortkeys

Ok, so the filter works, on Opera 12 it hangs, you can't select another object, on Opera 27 selection works, but on the page the columns are not aligned, neither in Iexplorer.
-
I understand that clicking on the song title opens the song info window. But wouldn't it be logical, when I click on the charter, I get info on the charter, same for Album, Artist. I really miss this "Filter Click" feature from the old search, because I got used to browse away from the keyboard with the mouse only.

Bucketfel's Tab has a slide G11/13, and that sounds better, I prefer a bend on fret 12 I would have preferred N Y C named Hold me forever 1.N, Hold me forever 2.Y, Hold me forever 3.C they should be displayed together in RS in that order, because Y is in the continuity of N, while C is the final peek.

I'd rather have fun walking at midnight through parks to a KFC with a M.Myers Mask and Bruce Lee's Nunchaku :D

I could sync "Our Selves" in 2 minutes in Play Along, so I don't think I'll need your xml, thanks I checked your projects, you'll need some tone changes, flangers and whawha's. Good Luck. Released : Harpoon the Goon (Pike 03, 3 Foot Clearence) Work in Progress : ... (need some time to learn/play the Gold Dragon 2-6) B) I try to care about ghost and grace notes that get lost when importing tabs to EOF and to RS14, about the length of sustains and useless block notes in slides for best readability, fret hand positions for playability I define phrases first, with catalog, then gather them into sections, this way DD should work best. However Buckethead often doesn't have repeating patterns.

New Buckethead customs for this WE ? Best Birthday present I ever received, Friday the 13th is my birthday, no kidding. :D I'm currently working on Pike 86, Our Selves, the first Track. Feel free to experiment with my tones, I changed Smirocsmo's tone in the Patrolman.

I appreciate your thread, and I'll support it the best I can. I've currently made an inventory of all available tabs, about 230 and I'll check them for accuracy in the next days, to see what I'll do next. Bucketfel is a hell of transcriber, I hope he will continue his greatly appreciated job. There are currently 54 cDLC, not only Pikes.

I need a source that has ACCURATE Tabs
TomSawyer2112 replied to Rumrunner24's question in Rocksmith Remastered
ultimate-guitar.com lists "tab pro" files, which have often better ratings, but can only be accessed/displayed with a paid membership. Does anyone have subscribed to this, and are the tabs really better (i.e. earth heals itself) They also give a lifetime membership for about 35$, so no big deal, but I would like to know if anybody made good/bad experience.
