  1. @ Mikson Nooo! Don't level me to masterclass i'm still a noob. Tbf i never had done any fingerpicking till this song cause i wasnt able to do it normally. i guess its been 6months since i played this song cause the last time i played it was doing the video / when i suggested it. But thats when i used to play it a ton of times infact i think one of lilramens older cldlc versions (not the one in the video) was better because it had the fingering on the chords this new version doesnt for some reason...and i think the tones were louder aswell so it was easier tot ell if you were playing it right or wrong. so i do admit it probably looks harder than it is without knowing what fingers to use on the fretboard as long as you only use the 1st and 2nd finger (index and middle) on the red(2) orange(1) strings you should be fine. the 9 hammeron orange and slide i use the ring finger (3)... then for the 5r 4y 7g chord i use the pinky (4) on the green string... chorus is just typical punk song..i think paramore has one thats similar and then it just repeats... except for the bridge.. which uses the same 547 chord above and a new one thats 4r(1) 5g(2) 7b(4) (i suggest just practicing switching between those two chords cause its kinda awkward atleast for me it was) and then it repeats and thats it. 3 to 4 section song Your comment made me want to give the song another shot just strumming it/no fingerpicking. I find it a tad bit harder just cause you have to be very precise with what strings you pick and strumming the chords has to be very clean which i cant do consistantly yet but it does seem to be doable. However if you finger pick (never too late to learn a new skill and always handy) i find it to be cleaner and easier but maybe they do just strum it live dont know tbh. thumb for red strings, index for orange, and middle for green is what i do but whatever finger combination suits you best like you could just use thumb and index. (just keep in mind its best to keep the pick in your hand for the chorus hold it with the fingers your not using..although i guess technicly you could do the whole song fingerpicking havent tried though) still don't think this should be on the same level as mariachi or whitesnake but i do understand it can be a bit challenging
  2. Woah 3rd time my suggestion gets picked in a row! I'm liking this rng maybe I should go to a casino see if the luck applies in real life aswell ha. Love Movements and this album. For anyone that hasnt heard them yet other good songs are daylily (probably my fav) fever dream, colorblind, the grey full circle ( kinda just named all the songs on that album lol but i like it)and panic, It 's a sad/emoish band so it might not be for everyone but i really like the voice lyrics and instruments. Its been a loooong time since ive played it so it was nice for it to appear in the competition and glad i can still play it! . I personally suggested the song mostly for the lead path..not too much fond of the other paths..but the lead is good fingerpicking practice mixed with standardard picking (atleast thats how i play it). It might take some time to get used to it but if you do i think its easy to 100 o close to it consistantly (i personaly think its an intermediate song if you get the fingerpicking and also cause theres no solo and its kinda short) . Good begginer song has nice instruments and she has a pleasant voice not a fan of the lyrics though. This has tones or parts that remind me of other songs and they are all at the tip of my tongue but i cant remember any sadly. Mostly what sounds familiar is from the vocal melody in the chorus its also in another pop/hit song... oh well. the a d e chord progression is always good to find/ hear and is also used a ton in pop songs. My favorite one or atleast the one that comes to mind at the top of my head is going to be two steps behind by defleppard. yea decent song. I think this one would be harder to 100 than the movements song for lead since this one actually has solos (albeit simple ones) the length, and more sections to memorize. man i was doing well and then the sus chord shape/ message in the bottle from the police chord shape appeared and i was like gg xD fun song to play!
  3. eii couldn't agree more! hahaha i identify with your brother xD its funny you mention backstreet boys because the producer for most of their hit songs was max martin whom is also responsible/guilty for making most of the pop hits in the 2000s. heres the link to just some of his songs That the dude is a machine! He has done 100s of top hits and has worked with almost any pop star you can think of. And hes also said that he is a metal/rock fan at heart. I think lots of producers in the pop industry must be like that aswell..for example i also remember ian katpatrick (producer of some of dua lipaas songs / pop star) also said he like metal/ rock...or skrillex being in a rock band before he went solo and created skrillex and worked with other pop stars ...etc I mean you kinda have to be listening to all types of music to get inspiration to create something new /unique or grab the best elements of those other styles to make something catchy. Kinda like dave grohl has said in interviews about his drumming patterns for nirvana came from disco. I didnt know about Martin Friedmann living in japan. That whole story seems like the subplot to cyberpunk 2077 though hahaha. Because there, the rock guitarist in the game is salty bout jpop/rock taking over but in the end gives kudos to the jpop band for mixing new elements with rock and creating their own new thing. Btw grats on the win for int rhythm this week!
  5. Again second playthrough cause first time was before the competition. Its a good begginer song to learn the different shapes of standard triads on the bottomish strings. its only 8 chords repeated through out in the rhythm the lead might be a bit more challenging but i think thats good. yup fun song all instruments. will check the other songs mentioned here yea rhythm path is easier and probably how i wouldve tabbed it if i had done the cdlc...too bad the bass path wasnt mimicing this instead of the lead path (still fun to play) Lead path is a bit too much for me. although i do prefer how the ascending riff is tabbed on this path. but the chords and the main riff is just a bit harder to sight read imo. respect for luzifer getting 97 first try lead. i played the lead path again and got a worse score so im sticking wioth the 95 lol
  6. Sight views: well ig this one technicly doesnt count as a sight view since the first time i played it was sometime before i suggested it. Good to see Dells charts in the championship yea pretty fun song i wouldnt mind keeping it huh interesting i thought it was a take on la bamba by los lobos..but looking at their album cover seems like they're a beatles mock band so.. a take on twist and shout? Never heard of them before might check them out. the way its tabbed made it a bit more difficult than it could be for me but yea it was nice. my bass dont detect too well in d standard
  7. @ jellisjenius Well just be glad that Mikson didnt use my rating cause I gave it a 1 when I suggested it heheh. I think the number he gave is alright.. its short (although doesnt feel like it)..its slow(like you mentioned).. only 164 notes and its one riff through out.. all of which makes it easy to play without looking/ or memorize it Octaves imo should be a begginer skill since its one of the simpler chords/ more likely to learn first and its used in alot of pop music.
  8. really good begginner song. I think i like listening to the song more than playing it though. like i said last week, think this one is probably her best song (atleast compared to the ones one here) good tab glad to be able to play the guitar parts now thanks @ Mikson Another option to play the riff would be replacing the blue 5s with 0s on the next string main riff and then in the modulated part/ keychange towards the end its kinda like the cult of personality riff you place middle finger on 3 then blue 5 orange 2 orange 5 but 0s do become kinda hard to see in rocksmith (atleast they throw me of...never liked open strings in gh either) sometimes string skipping can be harder aswell and it is more clear on the modulated place the way you tabbed it so kudos! nice song i think i could 100 it but not sure if i have enough time Sweet! Another of my song suggestions got picked thanks! Its probably the most watched music video for me/ memorable just cause they stage the guitarist playing the guitar with a bow in the violin solo hehe. I do want to say the suggestions i made for 500 were mostly based on guitar fun to play...not really accuracy and dont think i tried bass on them. Also this is a new file compared to the one i originally played.. think the old one got erased. this one seems better so thats good thanks @ Hameron ! i agree with the slides (also think atleast the last chord slide should be unpitched) itd be nice if the solo was divided a bit more so that its easier to practice (think theres too much notes to remember/ practice the way it is) i think the bass should probably follow the guitar riff more i dont hear the orange notes... heres a quick isolated bass track might help? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VWK_9w_YBRdMYR7vrNI2emN1NDh2vkqE/view?usp=sharing fun week ty mikson https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VWK_9w_YBRdMYR7vrNI2emN1NDh2vkqE/view?usp=sharing theres some harmonics missing on the rhythm path.
  9. maybe i should give arctic monkeys a chance..enjoyed it more than i thought i would! this one was cool but i forgot to take ss when i finished playing the song. so i just wanted a ss to prove i played it once. even if it doesnt count. Love this song played it 4 more times cause its short but got progressively worse so lets ignore that. I did forget the solo was tabbed kinda more complicated than it needs to imo/ some small tweaks that could make it a bit more sightview friendly...I might do a version of it later tonight if i have time. Count numbers reseted since i started a new profile not too long ago. this song makes me want to play my sharona by the knack or jet are you gonna be my girl cool song! havent heard key changes/ modulations in a long time..feel like they were really comon and then less people continued doing it. Didnt know they had a cover of this song. Just remembered playing the original on gh metalica quite a bit. I think this song could be a low intermediate song for rhythm. Honestly just in general, a pet peave of mine is seeing metallica in the advance category when almost every beginner guitarist (atleast here) tries to learn metallica and plays it. But maybe thats just my experience with the band. alot going on in this song kinda hard without rr. some tina turner songs: Yea the title of hers aint wrong. Probably the best of her songs imo (atleast the ones ive played). The rest didnt really catch my attention tbh..not really my style i think the best mustve been used in some 80s movie i watched cause it seemed familiar and i enjoyed it.
  10. What a week!! Bass sight reads Love this song! i play the creedence version odlc to this so much. That being said, I think this is the version I grew up and listened to just never knew it was joan jett sung it So thanks! I only knew I'm not in love by them, didnt know they had this gem aswell! Definately going to be listening to it/ playing it more often fav this week (even if it has some minor issues since its kinda old) still thanks for adding it even if its bass only path I mean yea..You cant go wrong with bee gees lol fun to play. Probably the first song i learnt on bass so maybe its biased for me to say i think this should be lower class. also some few notes were missing at the end aswell but nothing game breaking. still fun. xDD As soon as I saw reccomended by cold I knew it was going to be challenging!! very cool, not usually into this type but this one was cool. I didnt really understand the fast parts. Wouldnt it have been easier to do the 5s 7s up a string so itd be 10s+12s and closer to the 10orange? the 5 7 and then 10 is a bit of a stretech on a bass for me but i noob...or are u supossed to tap the 10..or just fast shifting idk me noob
  11. Wow looking at the lineup looks like a very cool week thanks Rod you killed it!! I think the following are capos weeks : fluorescent artic monkeys, mariachi cancion antonio, rush the trees and stayin alive beegees (maybe it had a easier lead path cause it wasnt in advancedcategory but it was in the overal) from adding to spotify cause they were already there. could be fun to see how far people have improved if they participated in them.
  12. yea fun sightreads fun but sounds kinda off towards the end nice song. kinda wished the bass tab was more complete dont know why theres that gap of silence those power chords caught me by surprise...havent seen them too often lately. but yea decent song on the easier side/ id consider it lower class since its mostly long straight lines this one also seems more on the easy side. except for those slides at the end... i wouldnt want to try to 100 that lol. I think the fact that people in the other classes have high results on these 2 kinda goes with it being rated a bit higher than it should. but thats my 2 cents. very nice song from buckethead . feel like hes underrated as a guitarist. he has so many songs its crazy. surprised alot arent on spotify for some reason though. Even though this has a more complex solo i think this one is probably easier to achieve a higher score than kfc head
  13. I think coldrampage beat me by .05% on the bass path last week
  14. Yes definately! Played phobias cd so much. And yea So cold has a really fun rhythm and bass path i was so happy when they made official dlc for Breaking Benjamin.
  15. Enjoyed this weeks picks! not sure i agree with the ratings on some of them but semantics Sightreads: Breaking benjamin!! listened to them so much back in the days..probably was one of the bands that made me get into post metalcore/heavier music, really love the vocal performances to his songs. Personally wasnt too much a fan of this album( imo the weakest one of the bunch but thats cause i loved the others) this song was alright just a bit too slow for me and not much going on. Still a solid cdlc and decent for beginners and glad to play it. this one was nice. not sure if it seemed harder than the ones below because i had a capo+drop pedal (too lazy to tune) and had to do the math of plus one in my head or if it actually was harder. i think this one could be in a lower class. lots of singles and mostly one string. this one i think could also pass as int. i think this one could be lower class aswell. Which is surprising cause i always imagined rush having hard basslines...then again ive never heard most of rushs catalogue heh. Pretty fun song. Seemed like a easier version of the one that comes with the game...round and round? Also begining reminded me of a simpler bark at the moon by ozzy or looks that kill by motley crue..or panama vanhalen...or alot of songs from the 80s lol. then the chorus reminded me of a metallica song.. i think its seek and destroy but i personally never got into metallica that much so it could be another one of theirs.
  16. oof posted in wrong forum.edited it out. ig i never answered what my top are. i think becoming the bull - atreyu ( its been on championship before i think) still of the night - whitesnake mariachi like avas said be my fire- blue stone - beg 3 killer klowns from outer space theme- Dickies- intermed 4( don't know bout the other paths but the lead is fun and i dont skip if it appears on non stop) clincher / tug of war (either are good) - chevelle - interm 4 cocky - tillian- high inter or low adv First kiss - Strawbery girls high adv/masterclass (i dont think ive passed 75 % after several tries still fun tho) less talk more rok- freeze pop masterclass (gh2 song too fast 4 me and you need 24 frets) kinda wanted a beartooth song but idk which one yet men in black- will smith - beg3 bass path only i also learnt when going through songs on the forge the bass line is just a sample from a song thats also on the forge ( also the reason why i put it in beg cause its only a 4 bar loop) but still groovy and fun might be int cause of the pops and hamerons... unbreakable - of mice and men (its no longer on the site) hmm sadly i dont think ive tried many new ones since my comment in august lol. i did go through my collection and those are the ones i enjoyed although some are old sooo.. yea
  17. Yup ! like others have said it depends on the song/genre/feel its always good to learn both techniques and sometimes the cdlcs information about it being picked or plucked is right. Any expiramentation is valid (like using a violin bow for a guitar) as long as it sounds good, it keeps you motivated to play more, your having fun and you are comfortable doing it, then go for it As for pick size i wish i could give the mms of my picks but they have all faded (i just use my guitar picks). basically just get ones that are comfortable to you. i suggest not going too thin though cause they will break or bend over time( saying it from expierience, its not the end of the world but just a heads up). Soo if you can bend your pick with your fingers in one hand i suggest its probably better to get a thicker pick cause over time the thick bass strings will damage the pic.
  18. ah cold responded as i was typing what a boss xD
  19. oh cool! Yea dw, i myself wasnt aware this was a thing in r2014 until recently because someone messaged me about it and then cold help me learn. So anchors are what dictates the blue guidlines that are bellow every note telling you where you should put your hand. You can make a cdlc without altering the anchors because theres an automatic function in eof..or if you press shift and f generate anchors at the very end of the cdlc proccess Since you are doing a 15 17 19 riff this is what i refer to a M W shape (theres 3 the n fingers 12 and 4, the m, and the r riff (which are the 3,5 ,6 when you use your ring finger (like the first song or i think also the ghost song..i think ghost is a comb on the n riff and r riff ))) and its when you use a finger for each fret / you dont really shift around since your hand is stationary m w riffs arent too common cause you can usually place the highest note aka this case 19 on the string bellow one fret down so 18 ( but if i remember correctly the 19 is the last string so thats why m/w riffs are still relevant) ok anyways sorry id send pics but i need to be somewhere soon. in order to see your anchors press shift and f 11 a couple of times to switch untill you see red numbers above your fretts/ like where the section names are. its most likely youlll have 15 17s on your 15 to 19 riff.. this means that youd be shifting between these notes... which personally i wouldnt do i'd just have my hand stationary (like i said anchors are purely situational to the player and his experience there is no wrong way to play a riff) but if you wanted to make it clear its stationary then ud delete the 17s by selecting the note ( you can use shift up page down page to be precise on note selection) and pressing shift and f here ull see the anchor number on that position..so youd just remove the 17 and press ok i really hope theres spaces in forms cause this will be awfull to read if not. again sorry for not posting pics but im running late
  20. sight reads this song seemed like a mashup of different ideas pretty interesting. intro reminded me of some edm song cant recall the name and then the stacatto riff at 2:00 ish reminded me of a song in the movie 127 (decent movie if anyone is bored) called never hear surf music again by free blood and its also popped in some disco basslines. I think ive mentioned it before but ill say it again, you can never go wrong with 3 5 6 riff always fun when they pop up in so many songs. anywaaaays this one was nice...although the uper register guitars triggered a memory of a song that was playing on loop while calling for support for an hour a couple years ago so...theres that. A well done cdlc. Maybe erasing some anchors for the chorus to make it more aparent that its a w/m riff? but eh anchors are a matter of preference anyways imo.. The important thing is that the notes were right (atleast nothing stood out to me on a firstplaythrough). This song is dope. I'm not good at solos though. Not too sure why this is rated a 8 on bass if its basically the same as the lead just without a guitar solo? To me it should be the same or lower than the guitar lead. Theres been harder basslines than this. Yea..idk chief...This one also to me should be lower..Like intermediate class. Seems like a slowed down/dumbed down version of raining blood by slayer( the mosh part where most ppl failed in gh3...or atleast thats where i failed alot lol/ mostlikely on a real guitar aswell) it repeats quite a bit , not that many notes, short...Then again i usually think songs should be rated lower so.. I dont want to demerit your score rodman, its always impressive to see 99+s regardless of dificulty! Just i dont think this is a song to move up to masterclass/ or an advancedclass path.
  21. Yea fair enough, its been years since ive played multiplayer on rocksmith(i even forgot that was possible) so i had no clue of it crashing if it didnt have atleast a lead and bass. I'm guessing this is also an issue if its only lead and rhythm if you're a bassist and guitarist? Recentley, just been blindsided by people doing single paths in r+ (pretty sure even some of the officials have been single paths).. or the people i follow on here cause we share similar taste of music do that and admitidely ive done that aswell. After doing a quick filter of lead and bass songs its narrows the 64k to 52k so there is a loss of atleast 12,000 songs tbh its not as much as i thought it would be..that being said its still more songs than what rocksmith + has in their database in some countries hahah. I agree with mikson in that theres lots of higher difficulty songs which have simple basslines (hence a well done single path with a hard bassline could fit the week better/be funner/morechallenging) and with jelly in deleting the cdlcs you dont like after the week has ended (although i do know you collect them all and appreciate it, the pack you sent was nice) In the end of the day it goes back to the first point which is an issue im personally not affected by but others in this competition might be so i understand the issue now. Anyways again thanks @ Rodman for clarifying, its always good to know what's up.
  22. Nooo! Don't put in the ssl hahah I'd much rather a new song be played. Not a fan of capo weeks (songs that have already been done in previous weeks) since theres so many good songs out there. Still I appreciate the comment and congrats on the victory!! @ aNDESmASAMUNE
  23. Thats as good as i can play it i think. really fast and challenging song!
  24. first thanks for claryfying the rng in previous post! 2nd) is it not possible to just use the bass charted path only songs to be fillers? example song A gets picked and has 3 paths however the bass path isnt that good so to avoid a good guitar path being wasted or to avoid a capo week you rng a song with only a bass path tabbed. "3.2 if rhy and bass arrangements cannot match all 4 classes - choose from songs from spare arrangements, the past (songs played), from bass only songs or as above give next higher arrangment to the lower class too." i mean thats what i thought 3.2 meant? I know its not ideal to have bass charted path only songs as like you said it can clutter someones library .. But if you are participating for the bass category then i think thatd mean you want to play a decent bass chart. I find sometimes cdlcs with 2/3 paths might just simple chord function it in eof, which can work sometimes but othertimes the bass may do more fills and variations than which is tabbed. Also in general its just harder /rarer for all 3 paths to be perfect. Usually songs by creators like burntmilk dellboy coldrampage or the ones jelly mentioned above spend more time/ have more accurate bass paths if its the only one tabbed. I mean the only people who will have a cluttered library issue would be the bass players/owners. ("cluttered" in the sense that you are not playing bass you are playing guitar). What i personally do is just save bass path songs only in a seperate folder that way if i dont want to play bass that day and speed the rearranging process at the start of every session then i just take that folder out. I think you can also do this with cfsm. So maybe an option is to just put a side warning of bass path only chart if they get picked if the answer is still no, then ig i need to visit ssl to erase some of my suggestions as i was not aware bass path only songs were not a thing
